About the role

As a CYP Team Leader you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed and child-centred services. This includes supporting staff to manage complex cases, maintain high safeguarding standards, and ensuring that service delivery meets contractual requirements and organisational expectations. The role combines people management, operational leadership and partnership working, with a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to CYP staff, including regular supervision, case discussions and performance management.
• Oversee the delivery of safe, effective and trauma-informed support for children and young people affected by crime, ensuring their voices remain central to all interventions.
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld at all times, including effective risk management, oversight of complex cases and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
• Support staff wellbeing, resilience and professional development, contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.
• Monitor service quality and performance, contributing to reporting, audits and quality assurance processes as required.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including schools, statutory services and voluntary sector organisations, to strengthen referral pathways and joined-up working.
• Contribute to service development, innovation and continuous improvement, helping to shape and respond to emerging needs across Lancashire.

About You

You will be an experienced and confident leader with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people affected by crime. You will bring a compassionate, inclusive and reflective leadership style, alongside the ability to manage competing demands in a busy operational environment.

You will have:

• Experience of working with children and young people in a safeguarding or support context, ideally within criminal justice, victim support or related services.
• Proven experience of supervising or managing staff, with the ability to motivate, support and develop others.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks, trauma-informed practice and child-centred approaches.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, partners and stakeholders.

Senior Community Fundraiser – Suffolk
Location: West Road, Ipswich IP3 9SX (temporary office while the expansion work of our Ipswich hospice IP3 8NS is carried out)

We are looking for a Senior Community Fundraiser to help drive sustainable community fundraising income across Suffolk and parts of Essex, while building meaningful relationships with supporters from all backgrounds. This role is central to delivering our new five year fundraising strategy and contributing to long-term positive impact through community-led fundraising.

About the role

The purposes of the Book Services Coordinator role is to assist the Books and Library Manager in facilitating the charity’s crew’ libraries service and specialist maritime book sales and also to administer all processes and systems involved within Books and library services.

Responsibilities

The following is a list of the principal (but not exhaustive) tasks of the post holder:

a. Administration of the functions and systems involved in providing an effective and efficient exchange hardback library or recyclable paperback library service to ships and maritime installations

b. Administrating book order system, and procurement process for all merchandise necessary for the efficient functioning of the Book Services operation.

c. Updating and maintaining the Bookshop website with accurate information and prices.

d. Assisting in the management of the fulfilment of all sales of books/media to customers and external agencies (On-line bookshop, telephone, mail and “walk-in”), and ensure the maintenance of customer service standards

e. Administration of the Library and Book stock control system

• Experience working in book buying/selling/procurement in a customer focussed environment

This new role is to support the growth of Marine Society apprenticeship and adult skills provision. · To grow the apprenticeship and adult skills provision in line with agreed annual recruitment and financial targets

· To maintain accurate records of business development leads and pipeline activity within the CRM system and to routinely report on these

· Attend relevant external boards, fora and industry bodies, as directed in order to promote maritime apprenticeships and training including; Maritime Skills Alliance, Workboat Association, MNTB apprenticeship committee and Port Skills and Safety

· To attend industry trade fairs and careers events to represent Marine Society. These include; National Apprenticeship Week, Seawork, International Boat Show

· To research and monitor market trends, employer needs and competitor activity to inform business development strategy

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a recruitment, sales or commercial role with a proven track record of achieving financial targets
• Knowledge of the maritime sector including roles, ranks and certifications in the near coastal sector

Key deliverables:

Supporting Young People

• Conduct needs and risk assessments with potential Nightstop guests.
• Arrange the logistics of a guest’s stay with a volunteer.
• Work with guests and referral partners to offer support and opportunities for longer term accommodation.
•  Provide support to guests and volunteers through a 24 hour on call phone service.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and volunteers in the service at all times.
• Comply with data protection and information sharing protocols.

Marketing and Stakeholder Management

• Attend meetings and events and manage relationships with referral partners and other stakeholders.

Administration

• Maintain up to date records on all guests and volunteers.
• Support with the creation of reports.

Volunteer Recruitment, Promotion and Engagement

• Develop promotion plans with the aim of recruiting Nightstop volunteers
• Effectively onboard new Nightstop volunteers in a timely manner
• Support current volunteers and continue to engage them with the service by providing updates and involvement opportunities
• Complete the nessecary health and safety checks with new and current volunteers

Other

You will act as the operational lead for safeguarding practice, working closely with Operational Leads, Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSOs) and senior colleagues to drive quality, consistency and continuous improvement. Regular travel across England and Wales expected.

The role

You’ll work closely with our fabulous fundraising team and be able to play a significant role in bringing people together, shaping and expanding our community events calendar, and helping to make a big impact.Whilst previous community fundraising experience would be desirable, this is also an opportunity for an ambitious graduate who wants to make a real difference. 

As a Community Fundraiser, you will be the face of St Richard’s Hospice in the community, you will help our wonderful fundraisers and inspiring new supporters to raise money for the charity, always ensuring they receive the best possible supporter experience. You will be part of the wider Income Generation team, contributing to our shared goals and income targets.

A key part of the role will be to deliver fundraising with strong financial impact: achieving a 3:1 return on investment within two years, ensuring activities are cost-efficient, effective, and sustainable.

Flexibility will be required for evening and weekend working as well as the ability to travel locally to events, meetings or fundraising activities. This role is based at the Hospice, Wildwood Drive, Worcester.

The role will also include;

• Build and nurture relationships with local fundraisers, community groups, schools, faith groups and local organisations.
• Plan and deliver fundraising activities with clear financial targets and measurable impact.
• Represent the hospice at local events, cheque presentations and talks, sharing the difference our supporters make.
• Set, monitor and report on fundraising performance metrics, particularly the goal of delivering a 3:1 return on investment for this role over two years.
• Recruit, train and support volunteer fundraisers and community ambassadors.
• Ensure all fundraising is carried out ethically and in line with regulations.

About you

You will bring;

• Some experience in fundraising, community engagement, or volunteer coordination, this could be in a professional, personal or volunteer capacity
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, confidence speaking to community groups and schools

• Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
• A compassionate, people-focused attitude — especially when working with those fundraising in memory of loved ones.

Although not compulsory, the ideal candidate will have previous experience within the charity sector, delivering income generating activities, with knowledge and awareness of the fundraising regulations and codes of practice.

About the role:

You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.

These roles are based in our Victim Care Unit in Ashford. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or 12pm and 8pm. Shifts are designated on a rota basis and scheduled well in advance so you can plan ahead. You will be working within a supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.

How are staff supported to work remotely?  

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
