This is a part-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.
This is a part-time role, however these is the opportunity for it to be full-time up to end of March 2027. We can discuss this more at the interview stage. The role is due to start early September.
Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting young carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
As a Young Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to young carers and a commitment to enhancing their wellbeing. The role supports in the direct delivery of a range of services to young carers including information and advice, emotional support, a mentoring programme, signposting and referrals to other specialist organisations. As part of the Young Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in the planning and delivery of an extensive programme of leisure break activities for young carers, both term-time and in the school holidays. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of young carers, raise the profile of young carers and ensure young carers needs are met. Using all your skills, you will work with the team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we’ve achieved.
You will be someone:
· Who works in a person-centred way.

· Has an understanding of social care particularly in relation to young carers
· Has experience of working with clients who have support needs
· Has experience of producing reports for monitoring and evaluation

· Has good communication skills including spoken, written and presentational

Main Duties include:
· To provide regular emotional support to young carers and their families through a range of methods, offering appropriate, generic advice
· To provide individual support to young carers, and sibling young carers on a case-by-case basis towards established outcomes through delivery of a mentoring programme
· To be proactive in the identification and registration of young carers, which will include conducting internal assessments of their caring role and responsibilities and identifying support needs
· To support with the planning and participate in the delivery of young carers group activities and events
· To work with schools, voluntary organisations, statutory services, health services and others to raise awareness and identify young carers
· To keep accurate records of group and individual young carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes
· To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public

We are looking for a compassionate, organised and proactive Support Coordinator to join our small but ambitious team and help us reach more people across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
This is a role where your work will have a direct and visible impact. You might be supporting someone experiencing emotional distress, helping coordinate a support group, assisting people to access the right help, or contributing to community activities that increase awareness and understanding of suicide prevention.
About Hector's House
Hector's House was founded in 2016 by the family and friends of Hector Stringer, who died by suicide aged 18.
Today, we are a trusted local charity dedicated to preventing suicide and supporting people affected by suicide across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire
Everything we do is rooted in our local communities. We are supported by local people, businesses, schools, community groups and volunteers who share our belief that suicide is preventable and that nobody should face difficult times alone.
Last year we reached more than 2,500 people through our awareness, education and support services.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple message: there is hope.
The Role
Working closely with our Support Lead, you will play a central role in delivering support to people experiencing emotional distress, those at risk of suicide, and people affected by suicide.
You will help coordinate and deliver one-to-one and group support, respond to enquiries, maintain accurate records, liaise with partner organisations, and contribute to the continued development of our services.

Main Purpose: To provide integrated classroom and employment support to learners on The Autism Project (TAP), enabling them to develop independence, employability skills, and readiness for adulthood. The role combines in-class learning support with job coaching responsibilities, including work placements, employer liaison, and learner progression tracking.
You will work with: TAP staff and senior management team, Employer Engagement Officer, other CareTrade staff, local authorities, and other external partners e.g., external partners (e.g. schools, employers), as well as learners and parents/carers.
Your place and hours of work: Main office at Larcom Street, SE17 1RT plus regular travel throughout London. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm (allowing an hour for lunch). 37.5 hrs. a week. Candidates must be willing to be a little flexible to facilitate learner-parent meetings and occasional presentations in the early evening. Time may be taken in lieu for unsocial hours worked, where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Learner Support (Classroom & Curriculum)
1. Support learners to access the curriculum in Functional Skills, PSD, social skills, and employability sessions as independently as possible.
2. Work alongside tutors to deliver sessions, adapt teaching materials, and provide differentiated support.
3. Promote learner development in communication, behaviour, independence, and emotional regulation.
4. Support positive behaviour strategies and help learners develop coping mechanisms.
5. Contribute to creating resources and teaching aids to meet learner needs.
Job Coaching & Employability Support
1. Support learners in work placements, helping them develop workplace skills and confidence.
2. Liaise with employers to ensure appropriate support and implement reasonable adjustments.
3. Assist learners in understanding workplace expectations, routines, and professional behaviours.
4. Support employability sessions, careers guidance activity, and transition planning.
5. Contribute to travel training, independence skills, and community engagement.
Assessment, Progress & Documentation
1. Support assessment of learner starting points and ongoing progress.
2. Maintain accurate records, including progress notes, targets, and evidence of outcomes.
3. Contribute to EHCP reviews, Individual Education Plans, risk assessments, and support plans.
4. Monitor and report on learner progress towards aspirations and outcomes.
Multi-Agency & Team Working
1. Work collaboratively with tutors, job coaches, families, and external partners.
2. Communicate effectively with parents/carers, employers, and professionals.
3. Contribute to a consistent, person-centred approach across all areas of learner support.
4. Support enrichment activities such as trips, social events, and insight days.
