The Brompton Fountain supports children's heart and lung care at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust encompassing Royal Brompton, Harefield, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital and their partner hospitals.
Based at Royal Brompton Hospital, we work with teams across all sites to ensure patients and their families receive specialised support and resources (whilst in hospital and at home), regardless of where the child is treated within the Trust
network.

The Family Support Officer plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, practical and emotional support to children, young people and families receiving care under the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Working closely with the Hospital Services Manager, the post-holder will help deliver high-quality charitable services, events and projects.

Key objectives of the job 

• Work closely with the Hospital Services Manager to deliver core charity support, including but not limited to researching and distributing essential items, seasonal gifts and treats.

• Assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of events for children and families, varying in scale from one-to-one activities to large events.

• Obtaining and filing photo consent forms for any photography for promotional use.

• Assist with the delivery and development of services specifically for bereaved families, including annual events and support projects. 

• Assist with the upkeep of parent communal areas, including stock levels and general maintenance.

• Order products as directed by Hospital Services Manager

• Accurately recording charitable output, to be used for reporting purposes.

• Arranging travel and accommodation for families as part of our support services.

• Contribute ideas to improve services and identify unmet needs among families.

Communication and representation

• Communication with parents and families during face to face, telephone, email and social media interactions.

• Act in accordance with safeguarding procedures, escalating concerns about the welfare of children or vulnerable adults to the Hospital Services Manager (or charity CEO as required)

• Assist with the creation of regular charity newsletters through copywriting.

• Act as an ambassador for the charity when attending events and activities. 

Additional duties 

• Ensure that up to date written records and activity data are maintained in  accordance with professional and charity standards. 

• Comply with Charity and Trust policies including, but not limited to, current child protection policy and guidance, confidentiality, and health and safety.

• Respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients and their families, and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

• Be vigilant and aware of all stock, merchandise and resources owned by the charity.

• Adhere to policies and guidelines regarding money handling, as set by the CEO (including the use of bank cards/petty cash). 

• Any other duties as may be required by the Hospital Services Manager and CEO within the competencies and scope of the post. 

• Participate in safeguarding training and mandatory Trust/charity training.

• Complete merchandise sales from charity office as and when necessary.

Rights of Women (ROW) is looking for a woman criminal lawyer to join our team as a Legal Officer (Family & Criminal Law) Locum. The postholder will be part of Rights of Women’s Family Law team and will play a key role in delivering the organisation’s core services to women affected by sexual violence and other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG). 

The post holder will provide specialist legal advice through Rights of Women’s telephone advice lines, contribute to the delivery of training, and support the development of accessible legal information through publications and other resources. They will also support survivor engagement and contribute to Rights of Women’s policy work, helping to drive systemic change for women’s rights. 

The Legal Officer will play a leading role in maintaining and developing Rights of Women’s online peer-to-peer forum, which builds the capacity of professionals supporting women survivors. This includes supporting the online community, producing legally accurate and relevant public-facing content in response to queries and emerging themes, and contributing to a regular online newsletter. 

Salary: £16,191.20 (14 hours / 2 days) per annum (Gross Pay) plus 3% pension contribution. Full-time equivalent (FTE) salary: £ 40,478.01 

Conditions: 14 hours (2 days) per week. Working days are anticipated to fall between Monday-Thursday, subject to mutual agreement.

Holiday entitlement: Pro-rata of full-time entitlement of 28 days annual leave plus public holidays per annum. This includes three designated days to be taken between the December and January bank holidays when the organisation is closed.

This is an exciting role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The government has just published a UK wide cross-government child poverty strategy, and made some historic commitments to reduce child poverty including scrapping the two-child limit and expanding free school meals in England. You will have knowledge of parliamentary processes and the different advocacy levers that can be used to influence change. In addition, in a senior policy officer we are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing CPAG’s policy and research programme, including leading the delivery of research projects, helping to shape our press and campaigns work, and contributing to the development of future projects including fundraising.

The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. St Peter’s Hospice are looking to recruit a Band 6 Nurse or Health Care Professional to join our Hospice at Home team, providing specialist end‑of‑life care across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

• Undertaking remote assessments where needed to prioritise care safely

• Supporting a caseload that increasingly includes both malignant and non‑malignant conditions, reflecting community frailty and long‑term health needs

As a Band 6, you will act as a clinical lead and role model for a large team of Senior Palliative Care Support Workers, offering clinical supervision and supporting them in work that can be emotionally demanding.

• The successful candidate will need to be based within a 30-minute commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel regularly across the wider area (travel expenses covered).  The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes.  

• There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings and events depending on the charity’s needs such as our annual all colleagues in person event.   

• The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. Core working days will be Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential, as regular evening and weekend work will also be required to meet the needs of the role. Working hours will vary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a two-week period, so please take this into consideration before applying.

LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people.

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to support our volunteers and staff team to have an efficient and enjoyable volunteer programme. You will coordinate volunteer recruitment, social events and training, and as part of ‘Team People’, you will work to support the wider team to ensure volunteers and their supervisors are fully supported and deployed effectively. In addition, part of your role will be to support on a funded project or programme of work for LGBT Foundation (4 hours per week). 

The post holder will be responsible for: 

• Volunteer Recruitment: Coordinating volunteer recruitment and onboarding, including collecting references, carrying out DBS checks and running inductions. 

• Volunteer Retention and Recognition: Coordinating the volunteer social calendar, training opportunities and end of year survey. Supporting with the planning and delivery of the annual Volunteer Awards.

• Management of administration of the volunteer programme: Ensuring volunteer records are accurate and that admin tasks are carried out with a high level of attention to detail. 

• Support volunteer supervisors: Work closely with staff who supervise volunteers, including coordinating bi-monthly catch-up meetings, training and other support.
