Summary

We have an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist Apprentice to support the Central Quadrant of Harris secondary academies, helping to identify, attract and engage our communities.

Working with the Assistant Director and Principals from the Quadrant, you will have the opportunity to support with our Academy marketing strategies, including social media channels, newsletters, events and create graphic designs, images and videos for both organic and paid campaigns. You will also work with the Federation Talent Attraction Partner.

This is an apprentice role with a fixed-term duration of 18 months. Your learning will be supported by the completion of the Multi-Channel Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship programme.

The Central Quadrant academies are based in Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Croydon and Bromley and the successful candidate will be part of the academy team. We can be flexible on your base academy within the Central Quadrant.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, primarily focussing on student and staff recruitment and improving brand awareness
• Designing and generating mixed media content for use on academy websites and relevant social media to increase brand awareness and drive engagement
• Managing day-to-day social media posting and platforms
• Helping to develop compelling campaigns that resonate with our target audiences
• Ensuring brand consistency across all communications and external media
• Writing, editing, proofreading and publishing press releases and academy newsletters
• Monitoring and adjusting campaigns to meet budget and performance objectives
• Using data analysis tools to record, interpret, and analyse campaign performance, and creating and delivering actionable reports driven by these insights
• Conducting ongoing research into audiences, preferences and trends
• Researching and generating ideas to maximise audience engagement
• Performing keyword research to identify trends and develop content which improves SEO, discoverability, and engagement
• Using industry standard packages to edit content
• Photographing and videoing events and activities at the Academy and cataloguing and maintaining the Academy digital photo library

About the Fairer Futures Programme:

Birmingham City Council have awarded a Fairer Futures Fund to Witton Lodge to work with the wider VCSE sector to deliver a high quality and equitable service. The service will be delivered from other VCFSE sites particularly in Castle Vale area and have a presence in Falcon Lodge. They work with organisations such as Compass Support, Age Concern and Living Well Consortium and engage widely within the Locality to assess opportunities to partner collaboratively. 

The Role:

As a Fairer Futures Navigator you will be assisting individuals by providing access to support around areas such as poor mental health, debt, housing, domestic violence, substance use, homelessness, isolation, relationship breakdown, unemployment and other social crisis issues with the main focus being early intervention and prevention.

About you:

They are looking for someone who has:

• At least 12 months experience of working in a paid role with experience of supporting individuals in mental health or comparative sector to be in control of their lives.
• Excellent verbal, written and IT skills with the ability to input accurate up to date information on a bespoke IT system.
• Knowledge/experience of carrying out both needs assessments and risk assessments where this is required.
• The ability to liaise with professionals and local community networks and a good working knowledge of local facilities, organisations, and resources.
• The ability to work within timescales as laid out in the service contract and service standards, manage challenging situations and work under pressure.
• Proven ability to demonstrate an ability to use tools and techniques when working to support/evaluate positive change.

A driving licence and use of a vehicle is desirable but not essential for this role.

Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time, and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties that are reasonably comparable. All employees must adhere to the Association’s policies and procedures on Safeguarding, Health, & Safety and Equality & Diversity policies.

The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation is a drug and alcohol education charity, founded by Fiona and Tim Spargo-Mabbs in 2014 in response to the death of their 16-year-old son Dan having taken ecstasy. The charity aims to support young people to make safer choices and reduce harm, through increasing their understanding of the effects and risks of drugs and alcohol, and improving their life skills & resilience. We work with young people, parents, teachers and professionals, in schools, colleges and communities across the UK. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic communicator to join our team to coordinate our community and corporate fundraising activities.  The Corporate and Community Fundraiser is a fixed term maternity leave cover – it is therefore a great opportunity if you have previous experience and would like to use this to make a big impact.

The Corporate and Community Fundraiser will be responsible for raising money from the community and local/national organisations at our small but always rapidly growing and highly motivated charity. A key aspect of your role will be building relationships and using your story-telling skills with new and existing contacts, inspiring them to donate or help raise funds for the Foundation.

The role will have three key areas of responsibility:

Community fundraising – you will build on our well-established and growing group of regular donors and supporters to maximise donor income and engagement; instigating and managing a portfolio of fundraising activities that resonate with both existing and new supporters.

Corporate fundraising – you will manage and develop our existing relationships with companies and organisations to maximise potential partnerships and income; formulating and implementing a plan to raise the profile of the Foundation to build new relationships, both locally and nationally.

Communication – you will capture and develop stories about our work for use with fundraising, relationship building and reporting, contributing to regular newsletters, website updates and social media posts.

We are a small but committed team – we work hard and often juggle a wide range of concurrent projects as our work continues to develop.  We are kind, we laugh often, and we like eating cake. 

If you enjoy building relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and share our passion for supporting young people to make safer choices about drugs, alongside being very organised, with strong attention to detail and confident IT skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Approach Social Work is a fully funded social work training programme that helps you become a children’s social worker through hands-on experience, academic study and expert support. 

On the programme, you’ll develop a deep understanding of child-focused social work practice and how to build relationships that create real change. You’ll explore anti-discriminatory, anti-oppressive and anti-racist approaches, while working towards a postgraduate diploma and master’s degree in social work. 

What to expect 

Year one: 

• Begin study for your postgraduate diploma in social work

• Learn alongside children and families within a local authority social work team, supported by experienced tutors and practice educators 

• Receive a tax-free bursary of £18,000 or £20,000 (depending on location) to help with living and travel costs 

Year two and three:

• Move into a paid role as a newly qualified children’s social worker (up to £34,000, or more in some London boroughs) 

• Keep working towards your social work master’s degree 

• Join the Frontline Fellowship, a national community offering career-long support and development 

The role:

As a children’s social worker, you’ll learn how to build relationships, make difficult decisions and advocate for children’s safety and wellbeing. That means: 

• Visiting a child at home or school 

• Supporting a parent through difficult circumstances 

• Working with teachers, health professionals or police

A non-profit animal welfare organisation in Bali, with a team of approximately 70 staff and multiple operational programs, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and strengthen our financial management and administrative systems.

About the Role

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organisation, ensuring strong financial integrity, compliance, and transparency. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both experienced oversight and operational involvement.

The successful candidate will manage the finance and co-ordinate with the administration teams, work closely with external tax advisors and auditors, and ensure that the organisation maintains the highest standards of financial accountability to donors, partners, and regulatory authorities.

Living and working in Bali is required. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring clear processes.
• Ensure all income and expenditures are accurately coded and allocated to the correct projects, departments, and donor funds.
• Oversee financial data management and ensure accurate accounting across multiple accounts and programs.
• Support the development and strengthening of financial systems and procedures.

Financial Reporting & Budgeting

• Prepare regular financial reports and statements for organisational leadership.
• Monitor program budgets and track expenditure against approved budgets.
• Support organisational management and leadership with financial planning and program budgeting.

Controls, Compliance & Risk Management

• Implement and monitor  internal financial controls to safeguard organisational assets and prevent errors.
• Ensure full compliance with Indonesian tax regulations, labour laws, and international NGO reporting standards.
• Lead preparation for internal and external audits, maintaining high levels of financial transparency and accountability.
• Work closely with external tax consultants and auditors to ensure all reporting obligations are met.

Financial Operations & Procurement

• Oversee organisational banking operations

About the Applicant

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in finance or financial management
• Experience managing teams and supervising staff
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience working with multiple budgets, programs, and funding streams
• Experience preparing for audits and working with external auditors
• Excellent data management and analytical skills
• Comfortable navigating local financial systems and administrative processes in Indonesia
