Job description

About Us:

Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting is the world’s only movement for every girl and any girl because we believe that each of them deserves to be the best they can be. Girl Guides and Girl Scouts learn by doing, make friends and have fun. In brave, local spaces, girls develop the skills and attitudes to change themselves, their communities and our world. The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts supports 153 national Girl Guide and Girl Scout organisations around the world to be united, thriving and growing.

Job Purpose:

The WAGGGS Centenary Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the WAGGGS Centenary programme from design through to execution and evaluation. This role ensures the WAGGGS Centenary vision is translated into clear plans, realistic timelines, and high-quality delivery across multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and geographies.

Working closely with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners, the WAGGGS Centenary Project Manager plays a central role in keeping the WAGGGS Centenary work aligned, on track, and impactful.

About You:

You are a confident and highly organised project manager with a track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects. You bring structure, clarity, and momentum, and know how to turn ambitious ideas into realistic plans and high-quality delivery.

You are skilled at coordinating across teams, volunteers, and partners, and can navigate different priorities, perspectives, and geographies with ease. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and keep people aligned and accountable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Delivery
  • Stakeholder & Volunteer Management
  • Reporting & Risk
  • Quality, Learning & Legacy

Please refer to the attached Job description for the detailed key responsibilities.

To apply for this role, please submit your CV and a Cover Letter.

In your Cover Letter please demonstrate how your skills and experience meet the following criteria;

  1. Translating Vision into Delivery (Max 300 words)

Describe a complex, multi-stakeholder project you have led from concept to delivery.

Explain:

  • how you translated an initial vision into a structured plan
  • how you managed competing priorities across stakeholders
  • what you personally did when the project risked going off track

Important: Be specific about your own actions, not just the team’s.

2. Navigating Global or Diverse Stakeholders (Max 250 words)

This role involves working across different cultures, time zones, and perspectives. Share an example where you had to align stakeholders with differing expectations or priorities.

  • What was the tension or challenge?
  • How did you approach communication and decision-making?
  • What would those stakeholders say about your leadership?

3. Purpose, Ownership, and Delivery Mindset (Max 200 words)

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Centenary is a once-in-a-generation programme.

  • What motivates you to deliver this specific project?
  • What would success look like after 12 months in role?
  • What is one risk you foresee, and how would you mitigate it?
