Job description

About MedEquip4Kids

MedEquip4Kids improves the health and wellbeing of children in the UK by providing equipment and facilities unavailable through limited NHS resources.

About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Community Fundraiser to grow community fundraising income and build lasting relationships with supporters across Greater Manchester and the North West.

This varied, people-focused role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, developing ideas and inspiring others to support a cause that makes a real difference to children's lives.

You'll recruit and support community fundraisers, develop relationships with local groups and organisations, encourage participation in fundraising events and challenges, and identify new opportunities to raise awareness and income. You'll also provide excellent supporter care, helping people understand the difference their fundraising makes.

Key responsibilities

  • Community fundraising: Develop fundraising opportunities with individuals, schools, clubs, community groups, faith organisations and local businesses.

  • Supporter engagement: Recruit, motivate and support fundraisers with resources, guidance and regular communications.

  • Relationship management: Build positive relationships with supporters, community partners and local organisations, encouraging ongoing involvement.

  • Events and activities: Support fundraising events, collections, campaigns and challenge events, including volunteer involvement.

  • Communications: Deliver talks and presentations and contribute content for social media, newsletters and our website.

  • Income generation: Maintain a pipeline of fundraising opportunities, work towards income targets and identify ways to grow support.

  • Administration and teamwork: Maintain accurate supporter records, monitor progress and collaborate with colleagues across the charity.

About you

We're looking for someone passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people who enjoys bringing people together.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in community fundraising, charity fundraising, events, sales, customer service, supporter engagement or a similar role.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence speaking to groups.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A proactive, creative approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

  • Experience using databases or maintaining accurate records.

  • The ability to travel across Greater Manchester and the North West, including occasional evenings or weekends.

We're interested in your skills, enthusiasm and potential, as well as your experience.

What we offer

  • Flexible working arrangements.

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).

  • Pension contributions.

  • Training and professional development.

  • Laptop and reimbursement of expenses.

You'll join a small, committed team where your work will help generate vital support for children's health and wellbeing.
