Job description

Supported Housing Services Manager

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000
Permanent | Full-time

We are working with a well-established not-for-profit housing association to recruit a Hostel Services Manager to lead the effective delivery and development of its supported accommodation services across Luton.

This is a key management position with responsibility for ensuring customers receive safe, secure and high-quality accommodation alongside effective, person-centred support.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hostel Services Manager, Supported Housing Manager or Housing Services Manager to take ownership of a key service, lead a dedicated team and help shape the future delivery of supported accommodation.If you are looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to customers while driving operational performance and service improvement, we would be keen to hear from you.

The Role

As Supported Housing Services Manager, you will:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Team Leaders, Coordinators and Support Coaches.
  • Have overall oversight of the safe, secure and effective management of supported accommodation.
  • Promote a trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach across the service.
  • Set clear objectives and performance measures, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including voids, rent collection, arrears, customer satisfaction and tenancy sustainment.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns, complaints and operational risks are managed effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of housing management, support delivery, record keeping and internal auditing.
  • Work closely with Finance, Property and Housing teams to ensure effective management of income, repairs, compliance and voids.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, community organisations, partner agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for grants, tenders and service development, supporting bids and submissions where appropriate.
  • Ensure services comply with relevant legislation, regulation, policies and best practice.
  • Take accountability for service budgets, income management and financial performance.
  • Produce regular performance reports, identifying areas for improvement and taking appropriate action.
  • Contribute to the wider Homes with Support strategy and organisational objectives.

About You

We are looking for an experienced housing or supported housing professional with:

  • Experience managing supported housing, hostel or similar services.
  • Proven experience of leading, motivating and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of housing management, tenancy sustainment and safeguarding.
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, performance and operational risk.
  • A good understanding of relevant housing legislation, regulation and best practice.
  • Experience working with local authorities and external support agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • Resilience and the ability to manage complex and challenging situations.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service and positive outcomes.
