We have just gone through a change process to ensure we have the structure that enables us to stabilise our income now and grow it over the coming years. We have a talented team of fundraisers who are not daunted by the challenge ahead, far from it, they have achieved more than we ever thought was possible in the last year and we’re looking for a Head of Mass Participation who can rise to the challenge with them, seize opportunities and be the strategic lead for the Mass Participation team.
Although Mass Participation income has been hit hard by the pandemic, we have adapted and developed a sector leading multi-million pound virtual events offering. We’re certain with the right leader in place we can create a sustainable long term mass participation programme that combines opportunities across both the virtual and challenge events space.You will lead your Team to deliver and grow this area of the fundraising mix, in line with our ambitious targets. The role will lead by example using expert knowledge and insights about virtual and challenge events opportunities and fundraising.

Job Title: Mass Participation Assistant (Virtual Challenges)
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £24,290 per annum

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide a high level of administrative support across the Virtual Events Portfolio. You will support the Mass Participation Project Manager (Virtual challenges) with the delivery of the virtual events portfolio, providing stewardship to Facebook participants as well as general team support. You will work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You’ll be responsible for stewarding our supporters and for supporting, the setup, stewardship and financial reconciling for our virtual events programme.
ROLE FOCUS
Administrative Support
- Ensure Mass Participation information and coding on the Database is up to date and accurate.
- Ensure all Mass Participation (virtual) information on briefing documents and documents used by other teams is up to date and accurate.
- Monitor stock levels for challenges and ensure supporters receive their kit, liaising with Supporter Care to resend out stock.
Supporter Care
- Responsible for stewarding supporters on virtual events programme.
- Managing virtual challenges inbox, ensuring supporters get accurate and timely responses.
- Maintain accurate supporter records on CARE database in line with GDPR regulations.
Income and Finance
- Process and track team expenditure, raising purchase orders and liaising with Finance to ensure invoices are paid.
- Ensuring income is coded correctly to the virtual events programme.
Relationships
- Develop excellent working relationships with Supporter Care, Corporate, Community and the Marketing and Communications teams in order to ensure the successful delivery of the Virtual Events programme.
- Develop good relationships with supporters of the charity to achieve high average gifts, high remittance rates and long-term support.
- Working with Mass Participation Project Manager (Virtual challenges) to manage relationship with moderation agency, answering any questions moderation agency might have.
- Liaise and negotiate with external suppliers to maximise potential net income for the charity and ensure our supporters receive a high level of customer service.
OTHER DUTIES
- Ensure all fundraising activities meet with the Fundraising Regulator and GDPR requirements.
- Build strong relationships with other departments to maximise opportunities for the charity.
- Undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the post as requested by your Manager.
- Carry out the duties of post in accordance with Teenage Cancer Trust’s policies and procedures.
DISCLOSURE AND BARRING CHECKS
This role will have access to the CARE database which contains details of those we support and therefore is subject to a Basic Disclosure check.

Are you an incredible storyteller who loves working with people to help them share their inspiring stories with a wide range of media? Do you have experience of working on major fundraising campaigns and activities? Do you have a proven track record of achieving on-message national and regional coverage on a regular basis?
Teenage Cancer Trust is looking for a proactive and creative Media and PR Officer to join their friendly team. You’ll have the chance to work on a range of our exciting fundraising events, such as our flagship Royal Albert Hall concerts, and corporate partnerships with major brands like Aldi and Dominos.
A large part of this role will see you work with our Stories Manager and young people with cancer to help them share their stories with media. You’ll facilitate these opportunities in support of specific fundraising activities, but also as part of a wider real-life story strategy that aims to engage key audiences with the work that we do.
You’ll need to fully understand the needs of differing types of media and know how to develop and pitch stories effectively – bringing relevant existing media contacts to the role. You’ll also need to be confident advising internal and external stakeholders on the best route to achieving media coverage for their projects.
Alongside one other Media and PR Officer, this role shares responsibility for some core administrative duties and processes for the Media & PR team e.g. creating evaluation reports, to ensure a smooth and professional press office function. You will also take part in an out of hours rota with other team members.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Digital Marketing Executive will work on Teenage Cancer Trust’s digital brand and fundraising campaigns as well as marketing our diverse portfolio of fundraising events. Working with our marketing team, you will lead on the digital elements of our brand and fundraising campaigns as well as our high-profile campaigns like Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, London Marathon, virtual events, fundraising products and volunteer recruitment.
You will develop media plans and strategy as well as delivering and optimising the campaigns. You would also lead on defining and implementing our SEO strategy and be responsible for the health of our grant and PPC accounts as well as managing our email platform.
You will be an expert within the organisation on audiences and targeting, as well as platforms and formats for effective digital marketing. You will also support and advise colleagues across the organisation in best practice of using digital marketing tools and platforms to help them develop and test digital marketing strategies
