As a Coordinator, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering our community service across the East Riding of Yorkshire through drop-ins offering:

• practical hearing aid support

You will be responsible for co-ordinating the RNID Near You drop-in services and manage a team of  volunteers to deliver the service across the region of East Riding.

You will: 

1. Coordinate our volunteering team to deliver a high level of service at our RNID Near You drop-in sessions.
2. Help recruit volunteers across the East Riding of Yorkshire to strengthen existing sessions.
3. Work with NHS audiology to induct and train our volunteers to high standards.
4. Promote our sessions to ensure maximum engagement from local hearing-aid users.
5. Ensure all paperwork is processed correctly and reports to stakeholders are timely completed.

You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals, and service users. You have experience managing your own workload and are able to work flexibly when required. You can motivate volunteers to assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, to give clear guidance and take into account individual wishes and health needs.

You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word. You will be able to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers and deliver an excellent service across East Riding of Yorkshire. While home based, regular travel to venues where we provide drop-in sessions will be required.

The Organisation

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Disabled People’s Organisations. The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We provide management, job coaching and employer engagement for over 50 young people with learning disabilities each year across our 6 internship sites.

We are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.

Background

Action on Disability is the supported employment service partner on a number of supported internships for young people with learning disabilities around West and South London. They are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.

The Post

The purpose of the job is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities (17+) within their workplaces. You will support interns/graduates to become independent in their roles and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed. You will work closely with the employer to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern/employee once your support has been withdrawn.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To carry out a detailed job analysis of potential jobs / work placements
• To carry out detailed job matching of service users and jobs
• To comprehensively learn jobs across different sectors – not restricted to but potentially including – Catering, Customer Service, Administration, IT and Retail
• To implement training/coaching plans which will enable the candidates to fulfil their roles to employer standards
• To conduct regular reviews to ensure candidates are progressing within their roles and to identify and meet new support needs
• To build up natural support within employers and taper off one 1:1 job coaching over time
• To negotiate and implement disability-related reasonable adjustments on an individual basis
• To identify client’s skills, strengths, interests and aspirations to inform an ongoing vocational profile
• To liaise with managers to discuss progress and respond to issues

About the opportunity:

Working closely with the Fundraising Manager and Head of Philanthropy you will support a range of fundraising activities, most predominantly through organising and coordinating fundraising events, such as half-marathons; lead annual fundraising campaigns; in addition to increasing individual giving to the charity through awareness raising and stewardship of regular and one-off donors. We fund cutting-edge research and provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

The Taskforce for Lung Health (the secretariat for which is provided by Asthma + Lung UK) is a collaboration of the largest ever group of organisations and individuals who have come together, as a team, to improve lung health. Our primary goal is to elevate the importance of lung health within the NHS. The Taskforce has over 50 members including patients, carers, healthcare professionals, the voluntary sector and professional associations. An Industries Forum working alongside the Taskforce includes representatives from the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, devices and digital industries. 

Senior Policy and Engagement Officer – Taskforce for Lung Health

This role will support the Taskforce to deliver its ambitious programme of activity for 2026, working collaboratively with members and partners to deliver meaningful change for people with respiratory conditions.  You will lead and drive forward Taskforce policy and influencing work across priority areas, producing high-quality evidence-based outputs, working in collaboration with Taskforce members and partners, including patients, clinicians, other charities and corporate partners. You will develop the Taskforce’s engagement strategy, identifying opportunities to increase engagement and harness the potential of our collective endeavours to drive improvements in care for people with respiratory conditions, building strong working relationships with key stakeholders. This role can be either Office based or Remote based.

Senior Policy Officer – Asthma + Lung UK

Reporting to the Health Policy Manager, you will carry out proactive policy and influencing work across a range of health policy areas related to NHS services, treatment and care for lung conditions. You will work closely with other policy team members to influence change, and draft impactful policy positions and recommendations, using research, patient experience, clear analysis and strong arguments. You will work with a range of important external stakeholders, building strong relationships and influencing positive change. This role is Office based only. 

For both roles                                         

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload efficiently. You will have experience of developing robust policy positions and campaigning for policy change. You will be proactive and able to manage your workload independently, able to communicate complex issues to different audiences, and work collaboratively with a range of teams and external stakeholders. You will be comfortable managing multiple deadlines and adapting to changes in the external policy environment.

About the Role

The Youth Commons is a really important project, seeking to support young people to build confidence and agency and take more control over their environment. You will ensure a safe and engaging environment for young people aged 11-18. This includes managing the youth team, developing and delivering programs, planning and coordinating activities, and promoting youth participation. You will also handle tasks like budgeting, reporting, and record keeping

You will support young people to actively participate in and influence the development of the Commons as well as contribute to conversations with local and national decision makers. 

No day will be the same, so we are looking for someone with passion and energy to continue this very unique, fulfilling and impactful project.

What you will do…

• Ensure the smooth running of the youth club
• Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
• Ensure appropriate staff supervision around reviewing safeguarding, case management and ensure the team are supported in dealing with referral processes
• Continue to develop partnerships with local youth providers including ESCC Youth Team. Represent the Commons in local and wider networks
• Stand up for the interests of young people within the team. Seek ways to include young people directly at all levels, including the board
• Coordinate a wide range of ‘experiences’ for young people and through tenants and partners
• Support young people to actively participate in and influence the development of the Commons as well as contribute to conversations with local and national decision makers
• Help to regrow the youth workforce by supporting people into the field and towards higher levels of qualification

What you’ll bring to the table…

You will have extensive experience of working with young people and have youth work qualification, or similar experience of managing a project or programme.

You will have the ability to motivate people, deal with complex cases and have an understanding of the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children and Mental Health Act

About the Organisation

The Commons comprises 12 buildings and spaces which include vaults, caves and multi storey office blocks, all of which have been brought from dereliction into use as homes, workspace, leisure and learning and are located in the White Rock area of central Hastings, working together for ‘common good’, which is called ‘Commoning’. Rents are capped to protect affordability and good uses are prioritised over profit.

Purpose of the role:

This new role will play a key part in delivering Unseen’s fundraising and communications strategy. We’re looking for a passionate, creative communicator to help grow our supporter base and maximise income to support our work to end modern slavery.

1. Working with service users (either in the community or within safehouses, depending on the need at appointment of the role) to identify support needs and creating a journey plan to lead them towards recovery and independence.
2. Working alongside service users to help them complete the goals in their journey plan, ensuring they are aware of their rights and entitlements and advocating for them
3. Identifying and managing risk with service users.
4. Supporting staff and clients at safehouses if caseload is based at the safehouses.
5. Managing own caseload of service users, ensuring all administrative work is clear, accurate and up to date.

Post Title: Sessional Community Keyworker

We are looking for Sessional Workers to support Advance’s Criminal Justice Services. Advance’s Criminal Justice Services work with women involved in the Criminal Justice System offering safe, targeted support and advocacy to women to help them address their complex needs in relation to the 9 pathways to offending, such as substance misuse and financial difficulties, aiming to reduce re-offending, encourage desistance amongst repeat offenders, and empower women to live safe, crime free lives.

You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide one to one community support to women with a variety of needs simultaneously and will be co-located with partner organisations in their region. You will be expected to travel to Advance’s Head office in London for any organisational meetings and training, as and when required.

This post is not fixed hours or full time, work will be offered on an ad-hoc basis as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
