Our therapy clients often have complex backgrounds and require holistic support, so this role will suit you if alongside therapeutic work, you enjoy collaborative working, whether with partner organisations or with RISE’s broader team of specialist staff. If you have a strong background in working effectively with trauma, a drive to help survivors in their recovery, plus the skills to assess and support allocations and to manage junior or volunteer staff, we would love to hear from you.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

This role will play a crucial part in the BDA. It ensures smooth operations, supporting the Head of Finance & Operations and the Finance Manager, in managing the day to day recording of financial information.  This will include accurate invoicing, debt management, and supplier coordination, supporting the charity’s financial health.

Location

Hybrid – this role is primarily home-based (UK), with requirement to travel to and work from our office in Bracknell (Berkshire) at least once a week, and as necessary. Travel is also required to attend team days, which typically take place twice a year.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial administration

• First line of contact for Finance telephone and e-mail inbox queries. 
• To assist in the smooth day to day running of the finance department.
• Set up new customer accounts/contacts and completing supplier forms/portals as required.
• Assist the Finance Manager in raising sales invoices.
• Ensure outstanding customer invoices are chased on an ongoing basis. Regular review of debtor balances with the Finance Manager or Head of Finance.

This role leads the coordination of Kids’ online engagement and digital inclusion work for young people with SEND, including information provision, participation, and wellbeing support. You will deliver a two-year Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme, including identifying and engaging digitally excluded young people to help them access vital digital tools and services. The role also drives collaboration across the Digital Services Consortium (a collaboration of 12 children’s charities), embedding shared learning, outcome measurement, and inclusive digital practices across Kids, and will create new capacity to work with young people to scope and deploy online campaigning activity.  

Responsibilities

• To lead and coordinate Kids’ online engagement and inclusion work for young people with SEND. This includes Kids’ online information provision; voice/ participation and wellbeing work.
• To develop and deliver Kids’ two-year digital inclusion programme, Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme* to ensure reach and impact is maximised.
• To work with the Digital Services Consortium Driving Digital Inclusion members on shared digital project outcome measures and community of practice, ensuring learnings and online engagement and digital inclusion principles are captured, shared and built into the organisation.

Kids Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme will help young people with SEND (aged 13 – 25 years) build resilience, positive self-regard and meaningful connections.

Our goal is to reduce isolation and protect mental health through a supportive, inclusive digital environment. We’ll begin by consulting directly with young people to understand what they need most. Together, we’ll co-create new online content and resources that truly reflect their voices and experiences. 

 What the Programme Offers: 

• Online information with resources codesigned with young people with SEND. 

• A series of interactive webinars and guided online activities. 

• Free devices and data to improve access to those who need it most, plus the support to ensure everyone can participate.

We will reach over 1,800 young people over the two year funded period.

Thanks to National Lottery players, the Digital Services Consortium (DSC) has received over £1.5 million over two years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK. The DSC has also received a grant of £400,000 from BBC Children in Need for two years to provide digital support for disabled or seriously ill children and young people and their family members across the UK. Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone have generously donated devices and data through the Good Things Foundation National Databank and Device Bank which will help address affordability barriers.

Shout Out UK (SOUK) is a UK-based award-winning political and media literacy organisation with nearly a decade of experience in delivering impactful educational campaigns. Our mission is to defend and amplify democracy by equipping individuals with the critical thinking skills needed to navigate the complex information landscape and engage as informed, active citizens. We have a strong track record of working with educators and young people across various contexts, and we are the secretariat for the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group for Political and Media Literacy.

The Position:

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to lead our resource development. Reporting directly to the Head of Programmes, you will be tasked with developing and producing educational programmes and materials on topics such as Political & Media Literacy, counter-extremism, and online safety. This will involve ensuring resource related KPIs are met within budget and on time, alongside supporting our Head of Programmes in coordinating delivery of projects. Some projects may be handled by you directly at times. Projects and resources can vary from developing media literacy workshops for schools, creating digital assets for counter-extremism training and campaigns, to planning content for city-wide democratic engagement campaigns.

This position requires an enhanced DBS check, provided by SOUK, in accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, update and design learning and campaign resources for schools, colleges and for digital campaigns.

• Support the Head of Programmes in managing and delivering on our diverse projects. 

• Run relevant projects yourself as required.

• Recruit, coordinate and support schools and teachers across the UK to take on our political and media literacy workshops and projects.

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, councils and other stakeholders.

Role Summary

Join our team and help us improve public sector food across the UK with our School Plates and new Hospital Plates programmes. We're looking for a passionate and driven Chef Trainer to support schools and hospitals in delivering healthier and more sustainable menus.

The programmes continue to go from strength to strength. Through School Plates, we currently support over a third of all UK local authorities, catering for more than 12,000 schools and feeding over 1.25 million children daily. To date, we have been responsible for swapping over 50 million school meals from meat-based to meat-free or plant-based. We're now expanding our successful model into the health sector with our new Hospital Plates programme, bringing the same positive change to patient and staff menus.

Are you a skilled chef trainer with a passion for improving public food? Can you match our ambition? You'll be using your culinary expertise to train catering teams in both schools and hospitals, provide menu advice, and get involved with recipe development and culinary education. You will also run cooking workshops for pupils in secondary schools, inspiring the next generation to get excited about plant-based food. You will also build and manage relationships with our catering partners, helping them deliver delicious and sustainable meals. This is a UK-wide role and will require travel to different sites.

Responsibilities

As our Chef Trainer & Programme Support, you'll be a key player in developing and delivering our School Plates and Hospital Plates programmes. You'll use your culinary expertise and passion for food system change to create resources, train professionals, and engage with our partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Recipe Development & Training: You'll co-lead the creation, testing, and development of new plant-based recipes for our school and hospital programmes, and lead on developing ‘grab-and-go’ and internationally inspired options for secondary schools. You'll also plan and deliver training sessions, including in-person and online workshops, and create e-learning courses for caterers.

• Programme Development & Support: Work closely with programme managers to develop and refine the strategy for our initiatives. This includes supporting pilot programmes, measuring their impact, and creating bespoke catering resources for our partners.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Represent our organisation at events and in meetings, providing expert catering advice and information on our programmes. Collaborate with our communications manager to create engaging content, including recipes and videos for our website, e-learning platform and social media.

• Education & Outreach: Partner with our education manager to plan and co-deliver secondary school cooking workshops. These sessions will teach pupils basic plant-based culinary skills that align with the National Curriculum as well as inspire the next generation to choose plant-forward options and learn about the impact of their food choices in a positive way.

• Inspire Catering Teams: Your role is to build and maintain relationships with catering partners, providing expert catering advice and practical recipe suggestions. You'll work with them directly on pilot programmes, offering bespoke support to inspire positive menu changes. You'll also provide essential administrative support for our programmes and help create and deliver presentations to promote our work to a wider audience.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving forward GNDR’s fundraising and communications strategy, increasing our reach, impact, and income in alignment with the organisation’s strategic priorities.
