To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Officer to join our small yet dynamic Fundraising team to help grow our income through Charitable Trusts and Foundations and from Statutory bodies. You will play an integral role in delivering on generating income to pursue our strategic priorities, managing high-value Trusts and Statutory relationships, joining a dynamic and ambitious organisation with exciting opportunities for fundraisers to contribute to growth and development.
In this role you will:
· Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of £50k+ prospects, working with fundraising and operational colleagues to develop high-value, strategic and multi-year opportunities.
- Prepare and submit compelling funding applications to trusts and foundations and other grant making bodies to grow income.
· Account manages key Trusts & Statutory funders, leading on the development of impact reports, and ensuring a bespoke and memorable stewardship experience by developing plans for key funders.

The position of Chief Operating Officer is an exciting new role within the charity. The last few years have seen Coram’s Fields grow both operationally and financially, and we now employ around 65 staff and in 2024/25 are expecting to turnover c.£2.4 million.

About the role
As Crisis’ Senior Media Officer, you will play a key role in delivering stand-out media campaigns that inspire the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. The Senior Media Officer will lead the team’s work on major legislation before the election, including the Criminal Justice Bill. They will support campaign work around the election, lead on media outreach around Crisis’ retail operations and manage the crucial media day for Crisis at Christmas.

The Senior Media Officer will design and implement media strategies that help guide the public narrative around homelessness and ultimately help create significant policy and social change.
The Senior Media Officer will line manage a Media Officer, overseeing their work and personal development. The Senior Media Officer will also play a full part in a busy reactive press office, setting up national level interviews and liaising with senior producers.
To be successful in this role you will have:

About the role
This is a new role in the Children on the Edge team, working with the Grants Manager to maximise funding from foundations and grant makers, and helping to grow our grants income (currently around £1.2m). You will be managing and growing a portfolio of funders, and identifying and nurturing new relationships with potential funders.
You will deliver effective prospecting, write compelling applications and create impactful reporting to new and current funders; helping to achieve the wider fundraising strategy of building and sustaining a broad base of restricted and unrestricted funding.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated fundraiser to join a small and dynamic organisation. You will be championing and fundraising for community led programmes that create protective environments full of hope, life, colour and fun. .
About you

The successful candidate will bring talent, enthusiasm, and relevant knowledge and experience to support press and social media strategies and communications across the entire global organisation. The role sits in our global communications team, working with, and reporting to, the Head of Communications. We are a small, high-performing team tasked with increasing the media and social media coverage of BHRRC’s analysis and key findings, as well as supporting and amplifying the efforts of our partners on the ground that are fighting to achieve justice and remedies for victims of abuse.

Responsibilities
The Communications Officer (Media) will have a particular focus on increasing international media coverage of BHRRC’s work and research, and the activities of our partners, including in the field of labour rights. Responsibilities will include:
Drive a proactive and strategic press approach: Spot opportunities for high impact coverage in target outlets, building on existing press lists, develop relationships with priority journalists, and create and pitch compelling content to media, including media advisories, press releases and related materials.
Develop high-impact communications products, synthesising complex research and data sets: Work with our Global Team to develop materials which speak to our key audiences. Develop key messages for our priority programmes and also discrete outputs including individual briefings and research reports.
Contribute to organisational and project communications strategies and planning: Support the Head of Communications to implement our communications strategy. Advise project managers on strategic communications and support launch project planning. Keep our planning calendar up to date and help ensure deadlines are met.
Produce well-written content: Write and edit channel-appropriate content for our audiences. Support the Global Team to produce high-quality and newsworthy reports, op-eds and blogs.
Support digital outputs: Support the Web Content and Senior Digital Officers as appropriate, creating content for our digital platform and social media platforms (including priority platforms LinkedIn and Twitter).
Support the communications team: Provide on-call cover for the media line, with occasional infrequent out of hours work, and share admin jobs.
Key competencies and attributes
Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a communications role, including working in a busy press office, communications department or as a journalist.
Media: Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; ability to conceive, craft and pitch news stories and carry out fast reactive work. Knowledge of and experience of working with the mainstream media, including knowledge of the editorial positions, audiences, and sections or programmes of key outlets. In addition, ideally, knowledge of international business media or media in some specific countries or regions.
Relationship building: Track record of developing relationships with journalists on key issues. Any existing contacts of relevance to BHRRC’s work a bonus.
For-impact communications: Excellent understanding of how strategic communications can work with research and advocacy approaches to achieve change. Proven ability to synthesis and communicate complex and sensitive information; understanding of how to tailor content to different audiences, contexts and channels. Outstanding written English and good oral communications ability.
Project management: Track record of leading and/or implementing complex projects including planning (timelining), execution and evaluation of lessons learned.
Strategic thinking: Track record of helping to develop successful communications strategies to effect change. Experience tailoring communications products for diverse international audiences an asset.
Supporting staff: Enthusiasm for supporting colleagues with communications. Experience supporting staff either through training, coaching or assisting with media advice an asset.
Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams that are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse cultures and working environments also desirable.
Knowledge of human rights issues: A strong interest in international issues and familiarity with social justice issues desirable.
Languages: Must be fluent in English. Additionally Japanese or Spanish in particular, and/or French, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, or Russian language skills would also be an asset.

Our Education Programmes are focused on engaging primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges across the UK to take part in our programmes and ensure LGBT+ young people can thrive. - Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes, including Pride Groups, School Talks and School Diversity Week
- Manage the administration of Education Programmes
- Act as a first point of contact for schools on our programmes, answering questions, sharing new resources and encouraging participation. This includes engaging with new schools to increase our networks and managing a busy inbox
- Engage new schools to increase our networks, including representing the charity at conferences and events
- Maintain good relationships with school contacts, lead on liaising with school staff to confirm bookings, monitoring invoices, membership and renewals
- Work collaboratively across teams to manage logistics and ensure the smooth running of Just Like Us programmes throughout the academic year.
- Support the delivery of our education programmes, including delivering talks, and training for teachers and other education stakeholders on LGBT+ issues
- Support with the creation and development of education resources
- Assist the monitoring and evaluation of programmes by distributing surveys, collecting case studies and providing analysis of data obtained to evidence our impact
- Support our marketing and communication initiatives, writing emails and monitoring open rates
- Assist with the maintenance of our online portals of resources for school staff and the online school staff networks
- Support programme effectiveness by streamlining internal workflows and procedures
Cross-team working
- Collaborate with colleagues in our Communications, Development and Education to deliver our charitable purpose
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the charity, promoting a culture that embraces and celebrates individual differences.
- Alongside the senior leadership team, support the development and implementation of DEI strategies to ensure the organisation's programmes and workplace practices are inclusive and reflect the diverse communities it serves.
