Business Development Officer – London, South East and East of England

Role purpose:

1. Retain and grow relationships with existing centres through tailored engagement strategies that drive programme registrations and increase impact. 
2. Identify and convert new opportunities through proactive outreach, lead generation, and effective nurture tactics to deliver new business income. 
3. Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a high-quality centre experience that builds trust and long-term loyalty. 

Key responsibilities:

Retain and grow existing centre relationships 

• Manage a portfolio of existing centres, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement aligned to their needs, delivery patterns, and growth potential. 
• Deliver against annual centre income targets by supporting centres to continue and expand programme delivery. 
• Develop and implement tailored engagement plans that reflect sector priorities, sector and programme maturity, and centre feedback. 
• Analyse Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards to identify retention risks, spot growth opportunities, and respond to trends with proactive support. 
• Coordinate requalification conversations and re-engagement activity to sustain long-term partnerships. 

Generate and convert new business 

• Identify and research high-potential leads across your allocated sectors (e.g., secondary, FE, community) using BI and CRM insights, sector intelligence, and marketing-generated activity. 

• Plan and deliver proactive outreach activity via a Sector Development Plans. 

• Build and maintain a personal pipeline of prospects and log progress regularly updating conversion insight and forecasts. 

• Support new centre onboarding, from initial conversations through to registration and early delivery support. 

• Collaborate with Marketing on lead nurture campaigns, sales funnel activities, and content that targets sector-specific priorities. 

Deliver outstanding customer experience 

• Serve as a primary point of contact for your centres, responding promptly and professionally to queries, issues, and feedback. 

• Ensure every interaction reflects the Leadership Skills Foundation’s values. 

• Maintain consistent and accurate records of communications, registrations, and engagement history. 

• Support customer feedback collection and contribute to the analysis of satisfaction and improvement opportunities. 

• Champion a customer-first mindset and share insight to improve performance against our customer experience objectives. 

Use data and insight to drive decisions 

• Regularly review and report on programme performance, income data, and registration trends for your assigned centres and sectors. 

• Use BI dashboards and management reports to inform your planning, prioritisation, and stakeholder engagement. 

• Report on your own progress against KPIs and contribute to departmental performance reviews and forecasting activities. 

Collaborate across teams and support innovation 

• Work closely with key teams to coordinate campaigns, messaging, and respond to customer feedback. 

• Feedback insight from centres to inform programme development and sector-specific improvements. 

• Contribute to team planning meetings, training sessions, and department-wide initiatives. 

• Support the induction of new team members and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team culture. 

Skills, experience, and knowledge

Essential 

• Previous experience in a customer supporting role, with an emphasis on relationship management and customer experience.  
• An understanding of education systems in the UK.
• An understanding of initiating prospect engagement, business development strategies and meeting sales targets.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience of working on own initiative and being a self-starter.
• Confidence in presenting externally to customers and partners.
• Experience of working with sales forecasting tools and Management Information systems.

The Role

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Deputy Director to lead our quality assurance work and play a central role in shaping and delivering cross-sector projects. You will oversee the management and strategic development of the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and collaborate closely with the Director on broader organisational and policy initiatives.

You’ll represent ASA at external stakeholder meetings, manage contracts and project teams, and act as a senior leader within a small and dynamic team that is passionate about access to justice and social welfare.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the delivery of the Advice Quality Standard, ensuring its integrity and independence as a sector-wide benchmark.

• Manage and deliver strategic projects aligned with ASA’s business plan and broader goals.

• Represent ASA at external meetings, consultations, and strategic discussions with stakeholders.

• Line manage project staff and consultants, and oversee contract relationships with AQS licence holders.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and funders, including government and regulatory bodies.

• Identify opportunities for growth and development in ASA’s offer to the sector.

About the role:

The postholder will support the delivery of a specialist domestic abuse (DA) project in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) in the London borough of Brent. The role aims to raise awareness and promote best practice in responding to domestic abuse across CLCH staff, improving support for patients impacted by domestic abuse. This will involve delivering training, workshops, and guidance to health professionals, providing consultancy on embedding DA response pathways, and helping CLCH navigate referrals to local domestic abuse support agencies. The role combines professional training, advocacy, and systems change to strengthen the health sector’s response to domestic abuse. The postholder will work across the Brent borough, attending community hubs and co-locating to deliver services when needed.

The postholder may be approached by staff seeking advice or consultation regarding male victims of domestic abuse. While the role’s primary focus remains on supporting women, the postholder will be open to supporting male victims through appropriate signposting and referral guidance. They will also be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g. Respect toolkit) to ensure inclusive and informed responses. Training will be provided.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer you will need the below experience and skills:

A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.

Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting engaging training and learning sessions on domestic abuse, tailored to professionals and stakeholders across a variety of settings.

Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a

range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.

Ability to provide consultancy and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on domestic abuse-related issues, offering informed advice and support.

Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written), with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse professionals and stakeholders.

Details of Job

The Events and Communications Officer will work across the team to plan, produce and deliver a calendar of in-person and on-line events. They will also communicate our work to external audiences to drive the participation of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in our programmes and attract potential funding from corporates, grant-makers, and government bodies.

The post holder will work with the programme team to manage a calendar of online and in-person events and oversee the event process from beginning to end. The post holder will manage ticketing platforms, oversee event budgets and logistics and create event briefings to ensure alignment between external speakers and team members. This will include overseeing the set-up of IT and technology to ensure smooth event delivery and acting as a main contact point for external event partners. After events, the post holder will manage communications with external partners and audiences, log their participation in the CRM system and produce timely reports on event outcomes for the programme team contributing to evaluation and learning cycles.

The post holder will also work with the Director and programme team to deliver the charity’s marketing and communications plan. They will maintain and grow our brand identity and tone of voice by using social media platforms, paid advertising campaigns and creating original content for our website to share our impact, drive participation and grow our partnerships. They will also work with a variety of external stakeholders to share Heart of the City’s impact, grow our network and drive greater participation and engagement in our work.

WellChild is the national charity for seriously ill children. Our vision is for every child or young person with complex medical needs to be thriving at home. Through a UK-wide network of children’s nurses, home and garden transformation projects and family support services, WellChild, who have Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex as its Patron, exists to ensure this growing population of children and young people have the best chance to thrive at home and in their communities.

WellChild is part of the Digital Services Consortium, a coalition of 12 charities and similar organisations all focused on driving digital inclusion for disabled or seriously ill children, young people and their families across the UK.

The Digital Inclusion Programme is a new project at WellChild with the aim of providing equipment and digital skills training to families who have children with complex medical needs, specifically targeting harder to reach and diverse families. Being digitally excluded has a negative impact on people’s access to health care and social engagement and this newly created and exciting role will make a real difference to the lives of those supported.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an empathetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated person to join our friendly and supportive team as a Digital Inclusion Officer to work directly with charity beneficiaries - parents and carers of children with complex medical needs who are digitally excluded.

Purpose of the role:

This is an exciting new role at WellChild, and the Digital Inclusion Officer will be vital to the success of this project, helping to shape it from the very beginning. This opportunity will see you delivering and facilitating targeted outreach and digital inclusion support, including training and workshops to those harder-to-reach and digitally excluded families helping them improve their digital skills. This will be achieved through development and provision of training utilising Good Things Foundation’s ‘Learn My Way’ resources enabling these families to become digitally included and supporting them to engage with our parent carer community – The WellChild Family Tree.

This will be achieved by networking with community organisations, services and groups with a particular focus on those harder-to-reach and digitally excluded families. This role is also an opportunity to develop a new volunteer programme for digital champions to help feed into and grow this new service area ensuring our digital inclusion offer is sustainable in the long term.

The Digital Inclusion Officer will also be responsible for developing ways to provide ongoing support to the service users, encouraging and supporting them to join our parent carer community, or working with the wider family team to create new tools to connect these families, reducing their isolation and providing them with peer support, guidance and opportunities to take part in activities and events offered through our WellChild Family Tree.

Working within the Families Team as part of the broader Programmes Team and reporting to the Family Programm Manager, this role will lead the development and delivery of our digital inclusion project.

There are three key parts to this role:

Outreach and identification of families – working with WellChild staff, external organisations and stakeholders to design and deliver ways to identify and recruit digitally excluded families to the programme so they can become digitally included and access much needed support and guidance.

Development and delivery – using a user-led, test-driven approach to shape WellChild’s digital inclusion offer to deliver, facilitate and coordinate support and workshops providing targeted training to improve digital skills to harder-to-reach groups. This will also include the provision of equipment and data enabling these groups to be digitally included.

Sustainability and engagement – Monitor and evaluate programme’s success and identify ways to ensure the digital inclusion programme can develop as a sustainable service by developing a network of volunteer champions to support the programme delivery, promotion and engagement of service users. Working with wider teams to create resources and connect families to our parent carer community – The WellChild Family Tree.

You will also be expected to help identify case studies that can be used to promote the work of the charity, whilst monitoring & evaluating activities and engagement, producing reports as necessary. Throughout your work you will embed safeguarding processes and policies to keep families safe.

You will be able to:

• Demonstrate recent experience in supporting vulnerable people.
• Demonstrate the ability, skills and/or experience delivering digital inclusion training, developing and shaping content to the needs of the service user.
• Build and sustain valuable relationships with our families so they feel engaged and supported from the moment they access support including those from harder-to-reach and diverse groups.
• Provide digital skills training to families enabling them to confidently become digitally included whilst identifying any additional requirements for data, equipment or assistive technology.
• Develop and network with key organisations/groups/services to build relationships and identify service users.
• Support and work with the Family Programme Manager to maximise strategies to grow the programme, including increasing our WellChild Family Tree membership base to include harder-to-reach and more diverse families.
• Recruit and support volunteers to sustain and enhance the digital inclusion programme.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to the needs of a new and growing service.
• Demonstrate commitment and ability for strong team working.
• Effectively prioritise and work calmly under pressure.
• Collaborate with other teams across the organisation such as Comms & fundraising to maximise promotion for the programme.

You will ideally have:

• Digital inclusion experience and/or knowledge to develop and deliver WellChild’s digital inclusion programme including monitoring and reporting.
• Proven ability to engage with families, children and young people in a sensitive and effective manner.
• Experience planning and delivering digital skills workshops and identifying new locations for groups/sessions
• Demonstrate experience and/or knowledge of the Learn My Way digital training resource or similar platforms.
• Experience planning and delivering outreach programmes.
• Experience recruiting and working with volunteers
• A passion for working with families with children who have complex medical needs.
• A desire and commitment to improve digital skills and therefore family’s ability to thrive at home, reducing isolation and improving their emotional resilience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• You will have experience using Client Management Systems
• A competent Microsoft Office user
• A full UK driving license and the ability to be able to travel throughout the UK in order to deliver the requirements of the project.

The role

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Database Officer to support our Public Fundraising team.

This exciting Database Officer role will support the data team with data imports, data selections and processing of income.

The Foundation has just started using a new CRM after undergoing a CRM migration from Raiser’s Edge, a very exciting time to be joining the Foundation! This role, alongside with other members of the data team, will liaise with the CRM Project Teams to support and ensure the successful outcome of the project and get us up to BAU.

What does the role involve?

• Manage data processes, imports and exports of all fundraising data including direct debits, new donors, email sign ups etc.in accordance with agreed protocols and in agreement with Database Manager.
• Ensure that the use of the Fundraising database and the capture of all data from supporters or prospects conforms to data protection guidelines including GDPR in particular relating to supporter preferences and consent.
• Support training for colleagues using the new CRM (Beacon) and help ensure all members are trained and kept up to date on new features and enhancements as they require to do their job effectively.
• Support the reconciliation of the bank statement with Beacon and ensure the Finance team know where to find information to enable accurate coding for management accounts.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Demonstrable relevant experience working in Fundraising, or a Charity database team role using Beacon, Raiser’s Edge or any database similar, with experience of CRMs in general.
• Evidenced experience of managing high volumes of personal data using a large and complex supporter/CRM database.
• Evidenced ability to think analytically and deliver the most effective and accurate solutions for data capture, manipulation and reporting.

Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;

Key role requirements:

• This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London.
• The HR Operations Team typically works from the London office 1-2 days per week depending on business need. Travel to other sites may also be required from time to time.

You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).

The purpose of the Employability Programme Facilitator role is to deliver FSSW’s FareChance programme, including employability learning and practical logistics sessions alongside support and collaboration with the Employability lead. The FareChance programme works with young people aged between 18 – 25 who experience additional barriers to accessing education, training or employment.  The young people are supported to learn new skills, build confidence and realise their full potential. Farechance provides a unique combination of two parts: the first is working alongside other volunteers and staff learning key warehouse and logistics skills, getting firsthand practical experience; the second is tailored employability sessions in small groups with 1-1 specialist support.

The facilitator will lead on running the employability and logistics sessions, with co-facilitation from volunteers or the employability lead where needed. This role will provide 1-1 support for young people where required and provide signposting and referrals to other specialist services. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting people to thrive and be sensitive to the inequality and power imbalance faced by young people today. They will have experience of supporting young people to achieve their goals and can bring these skills to deliver FareChance. This role will coach as well as co-ordinate the programme whilst supporting the growth of an innovative, supportive, and caring employability pathway for people to overcome barriers and move closer to the future they deserve.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery

· Lead the delivery of the FareChance Programme on site with the Vale Lane warehouse team, working flexibly to ensure success

• • Running sessions with four to ten young people three times a week
  • Lead facilitating Employability Sessions e.g. CV, Job Search, Interview Practice
  • Working with the Operations Teams in facilitating Logistics/Warehouse sessions

· Provide tailored motivational coaching/mentoring to:

• • Onboard and engage participants throughout
  • Provide advice and guidance and support young people with suitable interventions and accessing resources into training/volunteering/work placements
  • Provide 1-1 support sessions for those with higher needs

· Work with the Employability Lead to build an individualised plan and set of goals for each young person
