About the Role

Smart Works Greater Manchester opened its first centre in 2015 and expanded with a second centre in Manchester city centre in 2023. Our ambition is to support more than 1,200 women each year across our two centres, helping them gain the confidence, clothing and coaching they need to succeed at interview and secure employment.

As we continue to grow our service, we are committed to ensuring that every unemployed woman across Greater Manchester is aware of and able to access the transformative support available through Smart Works.

The Partnerships & Fundraising Manager will have responsibility for all aspects of fundraising including the design and delivery of Smart Works Greater Manchester’s annual fundraising strategy and activity plan with a clear purpose of ensuring our long-term sustainability. They will focus on the corporate and stakeholder partnership fundraising activity, to generate a six‑figure annual income portfolio. 

They will work with the Head of Smart Works Greater Manchester and the Board of Trustees to deliver the fundraising strategy, activity plan and support the organisation’s long‑term sustainability.

Therefore, we are looking for an energetic, creative and forward-thinking individual to join our dynamic team and ensure the long-term future of Smart Works in Greater Manchester. The role requires a self-starting and proactive approach, excellent communication and networking skills and experience in generating income. 

This role will be primarily based at our Smart Works centre in Manchester city centre, with some cross-centre working at our Stockport location. As part of the wider centre team, the successful candidate will also support key events, which may occasionally require evening and weekend working.

About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are expanding our team of IPS Employment Advisors in our IPS service in the London Borough of Newham. You will be based in one of NHS mental health treatment teams in the East Ham area.

IPS services at Working Well Trust have been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adhere to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment.

This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain and sustain paid employment. 

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, either personally or through a close contact.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to become comfortable in approaching employers, and showcase the advantages of our service in order to work with them to recruit our clients to fill vacancies and sustain employment.

What you’ll be doing

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.

You will be working to contract targets to maintain a high-quality service.

You will work as part of a mental health team (NHS Trust) maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. You will work closely with clinical teams, providing a coordinated approach thatalways remainsclient led.

You will be based at one of the following NHS mental health treatment teams:

• Community Recovery Team (North), Newham
• Community Integrated Mental Health Team (North), Newham

You will spend up to 65% of your week working in the community of Newham to provide localised support to residents of the Borough.

• Commitment to person-centred work and either experience of or enthusiasm to learn the IPS approach.

About the role

As a Coach Lead Worker in the Coaching team, you will play a key role in supporting individuals that are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will work with people who have varying levels of engagement with the service: some will work with you in a more planned and structured way, and some are in more complex situations and will require support from other agencies.

As a Lead Worker you will:

• Support members to develop and follow a personalised plan to end their homelessness sustainably.
• Empower and upskill members to be proactive in their accommodation search and access other relevant support services to meet their needs.
• Provide support with practical aspects of their route out of homeless, including access to housing, benefits, and other relevant needs.
• Lead Work a caseload and provide effective case management in line with the Crisis Case Management Framework.

The key to success will be your ability to make collaborative, consistent and psychologically informed relationships with members, services, colleagues, and partner organisations.

Skills, knowledge, and experience vital to succeeding in this role:

• Passionate about and dedicated to ending homelessness sustainably.

• Comprehensive understanding and experience of accessing housing via private rented sector, local authorities, housing associations, supported providers and others.

• Good knowledge of issues affecting homeless people, including housing, welfare issues, trauma, substance use, involvement in criminal justice services, and social isolation

• Proven track record of successfully using coaching, IAG or psychologically informed approaches with people who have experienced homelessness.

• Ability to manage successful relationships with external agencies and relevant service providers and successfully advocate on members behalf.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills used to ensure accurate record keeping on a variety of Case Management Systems/Databases.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.

• Strong team player, able to use own initiative and reflect on your own practice.

We're looking for a Welfare Manager to take charge of the welfare journey for every dog in our centre. In this pivotal role, you will drive timely, compassionate decisions through expert behavioural and veterinary rehabilitation, ensuring each dog progresses toward their forever home.

What does this role do?

As Welfare Manager, you'll: 

• lead, coach and develop a small team to deliver high-quality veterinary care and behaviour modification for dogs in our care,
• act as a balanced advocate for both behavioural and veterinary needs to achieve the best outcomes for each dog,
• oversee staff and volunteer training in behaviour and dog handling, ensuring all colleagues work within SOPs, legal, and health and safety guidelines,
• develop and implement tailored behaviour modification plans for dogs with complex needs and monitor progress towards successful rehoming,
• support professional development of Behaviour Officers, Dog Welfare Assistants, and Supervisors through mentoring, assessments, and workshops,
• collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, informed behavioural support before, during, and after rehoming.

As an accredited clinical dog behaviourist (CCAB, CAB) with extensive experience in canine behaviour and welfare; including behaviour modification, clinical assessment, and risk management, you will have proven expertise in safely handling and rehabilitating dogs across a range of breeds and behavioural profiles. With a strong track record of leading, developing, and managing high-performing teams, you will also be a skilled communicator, who is able to influence and engage a variety of audiences. Above all, you'll be passionate about rehoming, and have a commitment to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust.

Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they can find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust, and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.

About the Role

This Youth Development Mentor for young men is part of Bright Futures, our mentoring and employability support programme for young Gypsy and Traveller people aged 15-25. You will build trusted, consistent 1-1 mentoring relationships with young men, supporting them to grow in confidence, work out what they want, and build the skills to get there.

You will deliver the programme's set mentoring offer, adapting your approach to individuals as needed, alongside group sessions on skills and personal development. Many of the young men we work with have had negative experiences of school or other services and are often not in education, employment or training (NEET). The role is about helping the young men move forward at a pace that works for them, towards something they've chosen and can stick with, rather than pushing them down a set route. You will keep detailed records of progress and milestones reached.

You will also play a role in outreach and community engagement – building relationships with families and community members. This includes keeping up good working relationships with colleges, training providers and employers, and making sure young people's voices are heard, both within Bright Futures and externally.

This role is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

About You

This role is for someone who wants to make a real difference in young people's lives – someone committed to supporting young men from marginalised and underserved communities to get equitable access to opportunities, and to helping bring about wider change for those communities.

You will enjoy the challenge of working with young men who may take time to trust and engage, and see that as part of what makes the role rewarding.

The role is ideal for someone with experience of mentoring, youth work or a similar community-based role working with young men (paid or voluntary). Someone patient, non-judgemental and comfortable adapting support to suit the person in front of you. You will be just as comfortable speaking to family members as with college staff or social services.

We don't expect you to already have all the answers – what matters most is your commitment and ability to build genuine, trusting relationships and to keep going with young people who may take time to open up. We will support your development through supervision, training and a small, collaborative team environment.

About LGT and Bright Futures

London Gypsies and Travellers (LGT) challenges social exclusion and discrimination, working for change in partnership with Gypsy and Traveller communities living on council caravan sites, roadside camps, in flats and houses, and those experiencing homelessness.

Bright Futures supports Gypsy and Traveller young men and women aged 15–25 through mentoring, skills development, employability and wellbeing support. The programme helps young people build confidence, develop practical skills and identify realistic pathways into training and employment, working at their own pace and around their needs and interests. The programme is shaped by a deep understanding of the Gypsy and Traveller culture, and designed to empower young people to engage with wider society with pride, motivation and confidence.

Our services also include accommodation advice and advocacy, family support, community development, research, policy work and campaigns, and we support hundreds of individuals and families each year.

About the Role

The South London Centre Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, smooth running and development of the South London centre and Smart Works service in Croydon.

They will oversee the delivery of a high-quality Smart Works service, to include managing centre operations, leading and supporting the volunteer community, and building strong relationships with local partners and stakeholders, to ensure that Smart Works is well-embedded in the South London community.

The Centre Manager will be a highly organised and proactive individual who enjoys making things happen. They will be equally comfortable managing the practical running of a busy public-facing centre, supporting clients and volunteers, representing Smart Works externally and identifying opportunities to grow the service.

They will be a natural relationship builder who is able to create a vibrant, friendly and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.

The role would be based in the South London centre, and there will be occasional evening and weekend work for which staff are awarded TOIL. There will also be an expectation that this role may need to visit other Smart Works London centres or travel for outreach events and activities throughout the city.

Our new Head of Education (HoE) will provide strategic direction to, and oversight for, all activities within our Education Department, including age 5 – 18 education and Higher Education. Working in partnership with senior staff, our Education Committee, and Trustees, you will advance the Society’s Education objectives in line with our Education Strategy, providing expertise and strategic direction to ensure the development of trusted Education initiatives for all ages.

You will be designing, planning, and delivering projects aimed at improving learning outcomes for young people, students, key stakeholders, and the wider geoscience community, as well as participating in government consultation and policy work where relevant. A community-focused charity is seeking an experienced Advice & Navigation Manager to lead and develop a busy frontline service supporting individuals experiencing poverty, health inequalities, social isolation, housing challenges and other forms of disadvantage.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced service manager with a strong background in casework oversight, safeguarding, service quality and team leadership. Managing a team delivering advice, navigation and social prescribing support, you will ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred services that make a genuine difference to their lives.
The Role A key focus of this position is the oversight and management of complex casework. You will ensure effective triage, caseload allocation, case progression and closure, supporting staff to deliver safe, timely and impactful interventions.

Alongside day-to-day service management, you will provide leadership to a team of advice workers, social prescribing practitioners and volunteers, ensuring high standards of practice, compliance and safeguarding. You will also work closely with health partners, statutory agencies and community organisations to strengthen referral pathways and improve outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of advice, navigation and social prescribing services.
• Oversee casework management, including referrals, triage, caseload allocation, quality assurance and case progression.
• Support staff with complex cases, safeguarding concerns and complaints.
• Line manage and develop a team of frontline staff and volunteers through supervision, coaching and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, health and safety and organisational policies.
• Monitor service performance, outcomes and impact, using data and insight to support continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships across health, local authority and voluntary sector organisations.
• Contribute to reporting, service planning and the delivery of contractual and funding requirements.

About You We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Significant experience managing advice, navigation, support, advocacy or community-based services.
• Strong experience overseeing complex casework involving vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals.
• Experience managing or supporting social prescribing, community health or welfare advice services.
• A thorough understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries.
• Experience leading, supporting and developing teams through effective supervision and performance management.
• A track record of working in partnership with health, statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
• Experience using data and service insight to improve performance and demonstrate impact.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

• Social prescribing within primary care or community settings.
• Service development, improvement or change management.
• Leading hybrid or community-based teams.
• A relevant qualification in advice, health, social care or management.
