Your primary responsibilities will include:

• To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing personalised support and group based activities to people accessing our Day Opportunities service in Wandsworth.

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the Trusts and Foundations team to meet income targets and develop and maintain relationships with donors and prospects. The role combines supporting the Trusts and Foundations Manager, Senior Trusts Officer, and Head of Fundraising with the maintenance of existing relationships as well as generating their own income from both smaller and larger trusts. This position works closely with the members of the Learning and Development Team, as well as working in a support role with members of the Programmes Team to deliver quality learning and development programming. The Learning and Development Coordinator is an essential role within the Learning and Development Team and the Programmes Team more generally. JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Ensure that the quality of our L&D services and material is maintained, improved and expanded: 

• Contribute to guiding, standardising and quality assuring the conversion of learning/training material, content and courses or course modules to e-learning 
• Contribute to updating, maintaining and expanding RedR UK L&D and training material and resources, store & categorise them, and make them accessible
• Contribute to the update and maintenance of RedR UK’s e-learning and open-source learning platforms
• Provide quality assurance of project outputs or deliverables and assist in drafting high quality reports
• Contribute to the development or updating of RedR UK’s L&D and eLearning strategies 

Support the delivery of RedR UK's demand-led services to a consistently high standard: 

• Provide an end-to-end service - designing, supporting, quality assuring and evaluating the delivery of learning interventions, including developing new training and capacity development services (F2F, online facilitated and eLearning), particularly in connection with RedR UK’s self-paced eLearning offerings 
• Coordinate with the L&D team on planning and scheduling of L&D activities and liaise with colleagues across RedR UK to ensure uniform high quality of services 
• Where appropriate, design and/or deliver learning/training services directly to the participants 
• Where appropriate and agreed by line manager, lead the execution of selected projects, especially L&D projects 
• Assist in ensuring that necessary monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) data is gathered and analysed on all activities 

Support Network of Associate Trainers (ATs) and L&D Consultants to effectively deliver RedR UK's services: 

• Support the capacity building of ATs in L&D and technical Quality Assurance related matters, including introduction to RedR UK training methodologies, innovative training techniques, new training tools, etc. 
• Contribute to the recruitment, assessment and onboarding of prospective new Associate Trainers (ATs) into the trainer pool and/or on specific projects as required 
• Coordinate the work, performance, and planning of Associate Trainers when working under the L&D Unit. Quality-assure their work when working under Programmes Hubs 

Ensure that RedR UK services meet the needs of the sector and work to expand our reach: 

• Keep up to date with developments in learning with a focus on eLearning technologies and platforms, as well as other training methodologies and issues in the humanitarian sector and advise RedR UK programme teams accordingly 
• Contribute to identifying and exploring possibilities for expanding the range of services offered by the organisation and source funding for their implementation 
• Support business development efforts and proposal preparation by ensuring that the L&D component of the methodology is appropriate, services offered are in line with requirements, likely to achieve high impact and adding overall value to the programme

The Role In Brief

This position plays a central role in the delivery of Koreo’s work; responsible for a portfolio of the company’s biggest and most established programmes. It will be a varied role and will require someone to lead project teams in the design and delivery of high quality national learning programmes, while also playing a key role in the development of Koreo as an organisation
better able to build a just and regenerative future.

1. Responsible for the successful delivery and development of a portfolio of national learning programmes and projects. This portfolio of work is primarily focused on cross-sector learning programmes that bring cohorts of people together around learning missions. Examples include Civic Futures and the London Engagement Collaborative
with the GLA.
2. Responsible for sustaining and growing the portfolio, and with it Koreo’s profile, network, and income. This might be focused on developing the existing programmes in the portfolio, or could include wider writing, public speaking, pitching and networking
which support the distribution of the work.
3. An internal leadership role in developing a just and inclusive culture in which a diverse team can do its best work. This includes line management of one Project Coordinator, development of organisational practice and process, and work with the team on culture and development.

Main Areas of Responsibility

In the first instance, this will be achieved through joint project management and rollout of a new Federation wide SharePoint eco system. This is an exciting time to deliver a new ecosystem that will lay the foundation for future enhancement and uses of technology across all aspects of the Federation (Educational and Corporate).

You will then begin to identify the best uses of digital technology to promote learning, by engaging with latest research and by working across our academies in consultation with teachers and Principals. Through your leadership and networking within the Federation you will ensure the best approaches to improving educational outcomes are strategised, implemented, evaluated and are widely disseminated. Your work will involve the development of a Federation-wide Digital Learning strategy, building coalitions to implement and test this and then to disseminate the work. You will produce a wide range of training resources working with the Federation Consultant Leaders and Digital Learning Leaders in each Academy and you will Chair the Federation Digital Strategy Group, which will inform the priorities of the Federation IT team.

About Galop 

Galop is the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity. Founded in 1982, we have been championing the needs and protecting the safety of the LGBT+ community for 40 years.

Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do. 

We run three national support helplines for LGBT+ victims and survivors of domestic abuse, so-called “conversion therapy”, and hate crime. We provide advocacy services, both in London and nationally, for LGBT+ victims who need longer-term support. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey. 

We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work for national and local policy change to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research, like our upcoming report into LGBT+ experiences of sexual violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT+ people around the country. 

About the Training and Commercial Development Officer Role 

This role will aid the diversification of Galop’s income generation through our specialist LGBT+ anti-violence education and commercial activities, ensuring the long-term stability of the charity and helping us to deliver support to as many LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse as possible. 

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver LGBT+ specialist change and development work, as well as generate income that allows us to meaningfully support the LGBT+ community.

In this role, you’ll work with our Training and Commercial Manager to identify relationship development opportunities, creatively approach learning needs across sectors, and deliver our training and commercial offer.
