The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, support the personal and professional development of our members and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.
Main Purpose
The RCOphth provides education, support and professional development for ophthalmologists of all grades and across all of their roles. It also contributes to education in eye care and ophthalmology for undergraduate medical students and practitioners in other medical specialties and ophthalmic professions. The RCOphth aims for all its audiences to be able to access the ophthalmology education they need, when and where they want it, and in the form most appropriate for the learner and the learning material.
This role is an exciting new opportunity for you to play a leading part in the development and delivery of our digital learning provision.
You will work closely with colleagues and editors/co-editors to ensure that this membership benefit is valued by the membership and external audiences and their experience when using the platform is optimised.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of the INSPIRE digital learning platform (Brightspace)
- Work with Editors, Co-Editors, Instructors and Contributors on the production of high-quality digital learning materials in terms of content, level and educational rigour
- Increase learner engagement and satisfaction
- Develop mechanism to sell INSPIRE to non-members in the UK and the overseas market
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the RCOphth Digital Learning strategy
INSPIRE Platform
- Provide a skilled helpdesk service to users. This can involve talking users through how to use the platform, and sometimes dealing with difficult technical enquiries that require explanations to non-technical users.
- Manage the progression of materials through the necessary stages of creation and development and ensuring that materials are uploaded onto INSPIRE in a timely manner.
- Develop the functionality of the platform and managing its interaction with other software such as the membership database and collection of payments
Editors/Co-Editors/Instructors/Contributors
- Provide support to Editors and Co-Editors in loading resources onto the INSPIRE platform and integrating them to create learning materials. This will entail formatting and editing text, images and video for house style and grammar whilst maintaining medical/scientific accuracy.
- Checking consent and clearing copyright/licensing permissions for materials used in INSPIRE.
- Organising Editor and Co-Editor meetings and workshops.
- Create mechanisms to obtain user feedback on learning materials and evaluate the platform to direct change.
Communications/Liaison
- Liaise with internal colleagues in the Department, the Communications Team and external stakeholders in relation to the development and promotion of online resources.
- Liaising with College staff from other departments about current and future projects that require support from INSPIRE or will generate learning materials for the platform.
- Liaise with those organising and delivering courses and webinars to record presentations, select and upload materials, and create specific learning pathways for delegates.
- Work with the Education Co-ordinator to design and produce promotional materials for resources.
- Work with e-Learning for Health (e-LfH) on the materials that the College has on that platform and integrate materials onto INSPIRE. This includes attending the Content Provider Group meetings of which this College is a member as well as other meetings as appropriate.
- Create, recruit to and support a Digital Learning Editorial Board which will be responsible, with other stakeholders, for ensuring materials are up-to-date and quality assured for 100% accuracy. Once in place, be the staff contact responsible for the effective running of the Board and relevant processes.
- Be a member of and contribute to the INSPIRE Group (operational group of largely staff) and Digital Learning Subcommittee (members and staff).

RISE is a collaborative effort with the goal of delivering a unified approach to women’s empowerment in global supply chains. Bringing together the world’s four largest women’s empowerment programs in the global supply chains - BSR’s HERproject, CARE International, Gap Inc.’s P.A.C.E. Program and ILO-IFC Better Work, RISE will leverage the combined experience in over 21 countries to achieve transformative change for the millions of women who work within supply chains globally.
RISE will focus on three interrelated pillars of action to tackle both immediate barriers and medium/long term structural improvements for women workers. These include increased agency, confidence, and communication, increased access to and control over financial products, services and resources, enhancement of the capabilities of unions and industry organizations, and implementation of policies at the workplace level, but also regional and national levels that promote gender equality.
Pillar 1: Capacity Strengthening: Working in factories in key countries, RISE will achieve impact with a network of local civil society partners and organizations working on gender equality to deliver worker capacity building programs. There are four options available (i) Foundation – a 13 month needs based worker training program (ii) Digital – an 8-month tablet-based learning on health, financial literacy and stress management, (iii) Respect - one year program on gender-based Violence prevention and remediation and (iv) Financial Health – a one-year program on financial capability, resilience and inclusion.
Pillar 2: Market Transformation: RISE will work with and encourage leadership from industry actors (brands, buyers, suppliers, and worker representatives) to improve operating practices at all levels in global value chains to support greater gender equality outcomes.
Pillar 3: Influencing: RISE will leverage the founding partners’ existing relationships and identify opportunities to work in partnership to influence employer/company/factory policies, programs, and budgets, as well as government policies that impact workers, in particular women workers.
PURPOSE OF THE CONTRACT
The consultant will lead the implementation of RISE’s MEL framework to ensure that data and insights inform the organization’s work and effectively demonstrate our impact.
The consultant will embed MEL systems across the organization, provide technical support and guide the teams. In addition, the consultant will lead on evaluation, develop data collection tools, analyze data and share reports and learning to improve program effectiveness.
The consultant will also demonstrate RISE’s impact to internal and external stakeholders.
Scope of Work
MEL Management and Implementation
- Implement MEL frameworks, including Theories of Change, Logical Frameworks, KPIs, and outcome indicators, ensuring they remain up-to-date and aligned with RISE values.
- Systematically integrate MEL across all programs and organizational processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Build teams’ MEL capacities and capabilities through direct technical support and guidance on MEL systems, data use, and strategic alignment.
- Foster a culture of learning through strategic reviews with the teams, gathering evidence and learning: key insights, impact narratives and lessons learnt.
- Lead quality assurance of MEL processes to improve rigor and integrity. Assess their strengths and weaknesses and recommend improvements.

The role will initially be a fixed term contract (to July 2027) but we aim to secure further funding for the role to extend.
Main duties and responsibilities
Responsible for co-ordinating, engaging and managing multiple local community organisations across c. 5-7 locations in England to deliver leadership programmes with identified target audiences, groups and individuals.
Design, develop and manage a delivery plan for the Programme, which engages key stakeholders, and is based on the principles of co-creation, trust and flexibility.
Support identified stakeholders to test adapted leadership skill programmes and learn from the delivery to inform future delivery.
Through learnings from local delivery partners and working with research colleagues, develop a shared understanding of the needs and barriers young people in underserved communities face in accessing leadership skill development and volunteering opportunities.
Work with colleagues in the Innovation team to provide support to local delivery partners to address and overcome these barriers to engage the target audiences.
Deliver training, support and orientation to local delivery partners
Work with the Programme Research Manager to establish a delivery feedback loop to inform the development of learning resources and programmes to overcome the needs and barriers young people in underserved communities face.
Provide opportunities for the research plan, developed by the Programme Delivery Research Team, to be implemented to drive the improvement of strategic, business and operational planning and delivery.
Provide connectivity between your work/engagement with delivery centres and the work of the Business and Market Development Teams.
Work with the Programme Research Manager to capture and share best practice to support the wider adoption across community and partner networks.
Work collaboratively to successfully influence and deliver agreed programme objectives and key results.
Maintain a working knowledge and up to date awareness of the landscape and audiences the Leadership Skills Foundation works with and aspires to work with.

St. John's is a non-maintained specialist provision, working with autistic people, the majority of whom also have learning disabilities. Some of our learners have co-occurring conditions such as epilepsy, hearing or visual impairments, or mental health needs. We also support autistic learners who have an additional profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) syndrome. About the role
As a Foundation we are committed to learning together with others and reflecting and acting on what we learn. The Learning & Insight Officer will play a key part in delivering our learning, monitoring and research activities, and we want the successful candidate to be able to develop their skills and interest within the role. They will work closely with the Head of Learning & Insight, wider Grants team colleagues and others across the Foundation to gather insights from our grants and wider work. These insights will inform our strategic direction and contribute to wider sector learning and understanding.

The Jockeys Education & Training Scheme is a successful registered charity (Number 1149018) that provides career coaching, mentoring and practical career development training to professional jockeys, recently retired professional jockeys and beneficiaries of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

JETS General Manager Job Description:
Industry
• Work collaboratively with partners, The Professional Jockeys Association and The Injured Jockeys Fund.
• Attend industry and stakeholder meetings and conferences.
• Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders
• Work with The Jockey Training and Development Management Group and The Jockey Coaching Programme to ensure ‘joined-up’ and quality delivery of training and development to all claiming jockeys.

• To represent JETS at both Flat and Jump race meetings on a regular basis
