Charity People are delighted to be working with Croydon Almshouses, which aims to make the best use of its resources and agility to reduce the impact of poverty on people in Croydon, to recruit an Executive Assistant to the CEO & Governance Lead.

Croydon Almshouses is the oldest charity in Croydon. For over 550 years, they have been supporting people who experience the impact of poverty. Since 1447 they have offered almshouses, including Elis David Almshouses, a modern purpose-built block of 55 almshouses in South Croydon. For the last 40 years, they have also awarded grants to community groups and individuals of all ages across Croydon who are in need, or facing distress or hardship, and to local and national organisations which help them.

The role

The Executive Assistant to CEO & Governance Lead will provide support to the Chief Executive Officer to fulfil her responsibilities and enhance her effectiveness. This will also include working closely with the Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

• Executive Support & Diary Management: Manage the CEO's diary, prepare for meetings, maintain action logs, and provide proactive support in work planning.
• Governance & Administration: Organise and service Board, Committee, and staff meetings, including agendas, minute-taking, follow-ups on actions, ensuring compliance with governing documents and charity law. The role will line manage a Senior Administrator and facilitate trustee recruitment, induction and development.
• Safeguarding and Data Protection: Ensure data protection and safeguarding legislation are adhered to, embedding law in policies/procedures (training provided).
• Operations & HR Management: Oversee office operations, supplier contracts, data protection compliance, HR functions, and staff development.
• Project & Budget Management: Supports and sometimes leads projects, manages a small budget, and ensures cost-effective procurement of services and equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Significant experience of administration, particularly servicing a Board and Committees
• Significant experience in providing support to a senior executive, preferably as an EA
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office

The role

The Digital Media Officer role provides support to Crimestoppers and Crimestoppers’ youth service Fearless, in creating impactful content and campaigns that empower people to speak up about crime.

You will be responsible for filming, creating, and scheduling organic and paid social media content, and as the face of Fearless’ social media platforms, feature in the content yourself. You will play a key role in shaping and driving forward Fearless’ communications strategy to ensure Fearless’ social media platforms remain relevant, engaging and supportive of Crimestoppers overall aims.

You will contribute to the development of Crimestoppers and Fearless national and regional campaign ideas, content and messaging and manage the execution and reporting of multi-channel communication activities. You will use data from campaigns, as well as insights from focus groups, to inform future projects.

Job Title: Executive Administrator 

Location: Central Office which is based around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington Station. Hybrid working available, approximately 2 - 3 days per week in the office including every Tuesday. Additional office, service, and away days would be required for attendance.

Salary: 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. At times you may be required to work outside these hours, including for out of hours board meetings in the evenings, and other meetings which may be after hours. 

About the role

We're looking for an Executive Administrator to join our central office team, reporting to the Director of Finance and Resource. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-level administrative and governance support to various leaders within the organisation, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), The Board, and CEO. 

In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of coordinating meetings, managing governance processes, and supporting strategic initiatives. You will facilitate board and SLT meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking formal minutes, and ensuring a timely follow-up on actions, whilst overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations, supporting the organisation's environmental strategy.

You will be able to organise and manage events and away days, as well as manage our booking systems and general running. About the Service

Specialist Family Support worker role delivers additional service and adds value to our accommodation service provision across Islington, Haringey and Enfield. Project delivers internally developed programme called STAR (Supporting Trauma Awareness and Resilience) to mothers, children and young people in their respective groups through out the week. Programme provides safe and confidential space to unpack experiences of trauma and abuse while developing new strategies, build resilience and healing through growing hearts and minds with the aim to strengthens relationships between mother and children after experiences of abuse.

About the Role

Main part of the role is delivering STAR programme to mother and children in their respective groups as well as planning meaningful activities and trips during half term times. Role is delivered in person through co-location in all three Haringey safe accommodations. Mother’s programme is delivered twice per week during day time while children component of the programme is delivered weekly in the afternoons between 3:45pm-5:30pm in each house. This role provides holistic support through ongoing feedback collection and identifications of important themes and topic which are developed further to best support our families as well as developing meaningful partnerships with community networks.

As a GROW Trainee, you will play an essential role in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home in East London. Our GROW Trainee will learn how to provide advice and advocacy to people experiencing the housing emergency and work alongside a team of advisors, solicitors, support workers and managers who work together to give communities easier access to support and advice. The successful candidate will be given extensive training, support, and supervision to support them to achieve this. They will also have access to a flexible personal budget to help in your own personal and professional development.

The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to community hub priorities and be involved in systems change work in the area.

The GROW trainee programme includes opportunities to get involved in developing services in London and across Shelter at a national level, using your experiences to influence our local strategic aims.

About you

Good communication skills and the ability to make people feel heard will also be essential. Blue Cross animal hospitals and pet care clinics provide veterinary treatment to sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private veterinary fees. Our vet care is available to pets whose owners receive certain means-tested benefits and live within the catchment area of one of our animal hospitals or pet care clinics.  

We have developed an award-winning set of clinical guidelines to assist our vets in pragmatic, evidence-based decision making, where patient welfare is a priority. About you

As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be confident and capable in delivering excellent nursing care for a range of small animals, providing both emergency and routine healthcare. The Role: We are looking for a problem-solving Junior Costs Clerk with a can-do attitude to work with our Billing Team to support our dynamic team of lawyers at our busy London office. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, submission, and management of legal aid bills, and reviewing case files, time records, and disbursements to ensure accurate cost submissions. You will be trained on all aspects of the job depending on experience. This is a varied role that requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to support our team efficiently.

Essential:

Westway Trust is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join their existing dedicated and friendly team of sessional workers to provide ad-hoc support to various departments within the charity. The Senior Children’s and Families Pastor is a key role within the staff team at St Stephen’s.

We are looking for someone with a passion to see children (0-11s) and their families grow as whole life disciples of Jesus, with direct experience working with children, and proven strategic leadership skills, to lead this ministry into continued growth at this exciting time for St Stephen’s.

Currently there are 4 main strands to children’s ministry at St Stephen’s:

1. Church based kid’s ministry and discipleship

2. Community pre-school and families

3. School’s ministry (St Stephen’s primary and 2 other local primary schools); and

4. Parenting (building community and pastoral support).

We expect the director of children’s ministry to oversee all these strands but directly lead the church-based ministry and at least one other area.

The successful candidate will take responsibility and strategic oversight for all 0-11 ministry, leading the kids and families team (presently consisting of a part time community families pastor, and the Associate kids pastor, to be appointed.) and the recruitment and training of a large volunteer team.

About the opportunity
