The Learning Specialist contributes to the development and delivery of training materials and resources within the organisation. You will work closely with the Learning & Organisational Development Partner to support various learning and organisational development initiatives. You will also be key in the engagement and effective utilisation of Ambitious Learning (our eLearning platform).

You will design and develop training content for delivery through the LMS across various topics as directed, ensuring it meets the needs and learning styles of diverse staff. You’ll facilitate training sessions and assist in ongoing professional development programmes for Charity staff and managers, promoting continuous learning and growth. You’ll maintain central records and certifications, ensuring all training and learning initiatives comply with relevant regulations and standards.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A CIPD qualification (or working towards qualification) or equivalent Learning and Development qualification/experience.
• Demonstrable understanding of training intervention, design, delivery and evaluation principles.
• Skilled in LMS deployment, content development and management reporting.
• Skilled in deploying relevant eLearning tools and content.
• Demonstrable skills in developing learning and development, training and facilitation.

ABOUT THIS ROLE 

The Learning and Development Coordinator is an essential role within the Learning and Development Team and the Programmes Team more generally. The staff will closely work and coordinate with other members of the L&D Team as well as Programme Managers, Coordinators and Officers, Associate Trainers and Consultants, etc. The L&D Coordinator designs and adapts RedR UK training materials as well as providing technical L&D support and quality assurance to the broader Programmes Team. JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Ensure that the quality of our L&D services and material is maintained, improved and expanded: 

• Contribute to guiding, standardising and quality assuring the conversion of learning/training material, content and courses or course modules to e-learning 
• Contribute to updating, maintaining and expanding RedR UK L&D and training material and resources, store & categorise them, and make them accessible
• Contribute to the update and maintenance of RedR UK’s e-learning and open-source learning platforms
• Provide quality assurance of project outputs or deliverables and assist in drafting high quality reports
• Contribute to the development or updating of RedR UK’s L&D and eLearning strategies 

Support the delivery of RedR UK's demand-led services to a consistently high standard: 

• Provide an end-to-end service - designing, supporting, quality assuring and evaluating the delivery of learning interventions, including developing new training and capacity development services (F2F, online facilitated and eLearning), particularly in connection with RedR UK’s self-paced eLearning offerings 
• Coordinate with the L&D team on planning and scheduling of L&D activities and liaise with colleagues across RedR UK to ensure uniform high quality of services 
• Where appropriate, design and/or deliver learning/training services directly to the participants 
• Where appropriate and agreed by line manager, lead the execution of selected projects, especially L&D projects 
• Assist in ensuring that necessary monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) data is gathered and analysed on all activities 

Support Network of Associate Trainers (ATs) and L&D Consultants to effectively deliver RedR UK's services: 

• Support the capacity building of ATs in L&D and technical Quality Assurance related matters, including introduction to RedR UK training methodologies, innovative training techniques, new training tools, etc. 
• Contribute to the recruitment, assessment and onboarding of prospective new Associate Trainers (ATs) into the trainer pool and/or on specific projects as required 
• Coordinate the work, performance, and planning of Associate Trainers when working under the L&D Unit. Quality-assure their work when working under Programmes Hubs 

Ensure that RedR UK services meet the needs of the sector and work to expand our reach: 

• Keep up to date with developments in learning with a focus on eLearning technologies and platforms, as well as other training methodologies and issues in the humanitarian sector and advise RedR UK programme teams accordingly 
• Contribute to identifying and exploring possibilities for expanding the range of services offered by the organisation and source funding for their implementation 
• Support business development efforts and proposal preparation by ensuring that the L&D component of the methodology is appropriate, services offered are in line with requirements, likely to achieve high impact and adding overall value to the programme 
• Represent RedR UK at selected external events and forums, as appropriate 
• Be the Key Account Manager (KAM) for selected Key Accounts (clients and partners) in line with RedR UK’s KAM System

• Experience in design of self-paced and blended eLearning programmes, including experience with Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Vyond and other animation/design platforms including a strong understanding of accessibility requirements 
• Experience managing Learning Management Systems, especially Moodle 
• Experience and understanding of learning and development approaches, adult learning (andragogy) and participatory learning methodologies, including designing and conducting LNAs, designing, delivering and evaluating face-to-face and online facilitated events and revising/adapting training material
• Experience assessing learning, familiarity with the Kirkpatrick Model, and experience tracking, evaluating and reporting on learning data 
• Excellent people skills and experience in the coordination of consultants, including effective cross-cultural communication and strong inter-personal skills

Purpose of the Access & Learning Assistant (Digital) role is to:

As our Access & Learning Assistant (Digital), you will deliver across the whole range of Access and Learning Department activities, while leading on the creation of digital content.

The postholder will deliver daily programmed activities for schools (onsite, online and occasionally offsite), and there will be opportunities to work with families and other Museum audiences. Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager to provide expert support to two major programmes and also more broadly across PSI. This is an exciting new role which will concentrate on developing and embedding evaluation and learning practice within PSI’s activities, with significant opportunity to add value. It is anticipated that you will divide your time between three broad areas of work.

Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative (working title)

You will support the development and implementation of a MEL workplan for this initiative, based around the Theory of Change (ToC) and working closely with collaborators at Science for Africa Foundation in Nairobi.

The International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC)

You will lead on the design, implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of a MEL framework based on the ISARIC ToC model, using research and insight to inform developments. This will include defining and implementing cross-team data collection processes and tools, creating and championing a strategy for dissemination of and access to ISARIC outputs, and preparing reports.

PSI-wide activity

You will deliver guidance to other groups within PSI. This will include supporting researchers to articulate impact in grant applications and publications, and providing MEL expertise to ongoing projects. You may also be required to work with colleagues across the wider Department of Medicine to prepare material for the Research Excellence Framework 2028.

It is essential that you hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, alongside significant experience of planning and conducting monitoring and evaluation using different methodologies, gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate reach and significance of research impact. You will have excellent diplomacy, interpersonal and listening skills with proven ability to relate well to staff at all levels.  Familiarity with the UK Research Excellence Framework and experience in monitoring and evaluation of scientific, global health or policy research would be desirable.

At Mosaic - Supporting Bereaved Children, we are clear that our mission is to enable children and young people who have lost someone very close to them to come to terms with their grief in a positive and caring way.  Our work transforms young lives and we'd like you to be part of this.

We are looking for a passionate individual to help tell our story to the local and wider community about what we are doing, and how we transform young lives. We provide counselling to more than 400 children and young people every year, and support many more families and professionals through our uplifting weekend activities, and education programmes.  This role -engaging, communicating, campaigning - is simply vital to our success.

 This is a new post for Mosaic so the individual will have a chance to shape the strategy, advise the CEO and Trustees about our communications and marketing, and be part of a friendly and highly motivated team of 13 (mostly part-time) staff, working on events and activities, fundraising, counselling, training and education.

The role will involve:

Researching and adivising on how we best engage with our audiences such as our volunteers, families and other charities through different channels and approaches.

Creating a communications strategy which will strengthen our profile, and improve our website's content, look and feel to ensure more clarity about what we do, more reach and impact

Developing our social media content with the team, thinking about how young people use it and producing metrics on this.  Work with our young people, volunteers and others to create fantastic video content to show our impact.

Leading campaigns for Mosaic, driving impactful communication and building partnerships with the media and other organisations across Dorset to support our mission.

Be part of the team effort to create an overall five-year strategy for Mosaic as we grow, thinking about how we demonstrate our impact and the great relationship we have with schools and charity bodies across the county.

Create press releases and moments where we can tell everyone about the work we're doing, and supporting national campaigns on child bereavement.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience of working in communications, preferably with some marketing experience.

A good track record  of utilising a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to produce effective awareness campaigns

Experience of working with different  platforms, including Meta and TikTok.

Experience in analysing group to create tailored user-journeys

An understanding of media and confidence to engage with them at a local and regional level

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. About the HSA

The Humane Slaughter Association is a unique charity which promotes the welfare of farmed animals ‘Beyond the Farm Gate’; at markets, during transport, at slaughter, and when animals must be killed in emergencies.

Our vision is of a world where all farmed animals are transported and killed humanely and our mission is to research, advance and promote the use of humane methods for the transport, slaughter and killing of farmed animals.

We do this by offering practical advice, education, ad training to all those involved in transport, slaughter, or emergency killing of livestock animals, as well as by funding scientific research to develop more humane approaches. Although we are based in the UK, the charity is international and works worldwide.

Technical Officer – training and education

The postholder for this role will play a central role in developing and maintaining our educational and training resources. This will enable us to promote humane transport and slaughter of farmed animals to a diverse audience through multiple channels, including face-to-face teaching and training, online written and audio-visual material as well as interactive e-learning.

In collaboration with colleagues, the postholder will be responsible for the development of learning and training materials including information on our website, e-learning material, video training, lecture material etc.

A key component of this role will be to take complex scientific and technical information and tailor it to a diverse range of audiences around the world.

Another important route by which HSA promotes humane transport and slaughter is through conferences, symposia, and webinars. The postholder will be closely involved in the organisation and deliver of these events.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Attributes

Essential

· A degree in agriculture, life science, veterinary medicine (or a related field) or equivalent professional experience.

· An understanding of the basic principles of animal welfare at slaughter.

· Comfortable with working with and producing material which describes the slaughter process in detail.

· A demonstrable ability to summarise complex information for a range of audiences with different levels of technical expertise.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Strong IT skills ideally including experience with MS office and SharePoint, as well as software for creation of visual content (ideally including PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva).

· Experience of preparing and delivering oral and written presentations/reports to a varied audience

· Ability to work to targets, with excellent organisational skills.

· Team player, but comfortable working alone when necessary.

Desirable

· Expertise in animal welfare at slaughter and/or during transport (this expertise could have been gained though working with the livestock industry or as an educator, veterinarian, animal welfare researcher, regulator, or policymaker). 

· A postgraduate qualification, ideally in animal welfare or a related area.

· A qualification in teaching and learning at the higher or further education level (e.g. FHEA).

· Understanding of the laws and regulations relating to the welfare of animals (in the UK and/or elsewhere) undergoing transport and slaughter.

· Expertise in the welfare of farmed or wild-caught aquatic animals.

· Website editing and design expertise.

· Skills in video content creation and editing.

· Experience of using social media including Twitter/X, LinkedIn and/or YouTube to deliver animal welfare or technical information.

· Experience of using learning management systems or online course delivery platforms to deliver educational material.

· Experience of event planning and organisation (e.g. scientific conferences)

· Experience of online events delivered through platforms such as Zoom or GoToWebinar.

Personal Attributes

The candidate must be comfortable with the charity’s approach to animal welfare which includes co-operation with the livestock and slaughter industries. Whilst the HSA wishes to ensure the highest standards of welfare for animals farmed for food or other products, it does not oppose the slaughter of animals per se. Candidates must be comfortable working within the livestock industry and other key stakeholders whilst striving to ensure the humane treatment of animals undergoing transport or slaughter.

Location: Office-based or remote (within the UK) according to the wishes of the applicant. The HSA offices are currently based in Hertfordshire, UK.  The postholder will need to travel to meetings around the UK and occasionally overseas.
