Kinship have been awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver the first ever national training programme to support kinship carers in their caring role. We are at the start of that journey.

About the role:

Kinship are seeking to recruit experienced event co-ordinators with a whole range of skills and great energy to join our brand-new training team. They will be responsible for delivering this first ever programme of its type supporting kinship carers across England in their caring role. 

As a pivotal part of the team, you’ll be supporting delivery of high-quality in-person and online training events across England. You’ll be the first point of contact for the team and be experienced and responsive in dealing with enquiries. You’ll be used to working with suppliers and have proven experience of planning, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of large events. You’ll bring significant working experience of using Microsoft tools, and other platforms and technology including Zoom. You’ll have a positive, can-do approach and the ability to work with initiative, being curious and always thinking ahead to anticipate need and deal with issues.

Collaboration will be key to your approach, and you’ll be detail orientated and be great at managing your time and priorities, and working to consistently high standards. You’ll plan, co-ordinate and support the successful delivery of all our online and in-person events, including being available and involved as needed on site. 

In this role, you’ll travel across England and may have overnight stays from time to time. We offer training and support to enable you to be successful in your role and we’re happy to discuss requirements if you have kinship caring responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing highly effective project management and administrative support to the training programme, including supplier communication, coordinating programme logistics and delivery of all relevant general and financial administration tasks, e.g. scheduling meetings, providing agendas, writing briefings, minute-taking, monitoring expenditure and organising events, training and workshops.
• Being the first point of contact for the team, for both internal and external purposes, communicating effectively with kinship carers, internal training team, external delivery partners and other stakeholders to coordinate and confirm all training activity.

Essential requirements include:

• Proven experience in event planning and management. You will need previous experience being responsible for organising large events (over 50 people). 
• Experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and processes that enable team effectiveness. You will need a minimum of 1 year’s administration experience.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes in the Kent area. We are looking for 1 full time (or 2 part time) facilitators to be based at either HMP Rochester (21 hours per week) or HMP Standford Hill (14 hours per week). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role will be prison-based. As part of the Trusts and Institutional funding team of four you’ll work alongside the Head of Trusts and Institutional, Trusts Manager and Trusts Executive, and be line managed by the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Lead.

We're looking for someone to lead and develop our research team of staff and freelance research associates and be part of our Senior Leadership Team. We work with charities, foundations and public agencies to strengthen UK communities through action research. We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector, listen and learn with charities to understand what helps or hinders them and influence changes in practice within foundations and public agencies.

You'll have an interest in our work – helping individuals and organisations in the voluntary sector to achieve change; and a strong understanding and experience of using qualitative research methodology, ideally including experience of action research, facilitation and evaluation design alongside an understanding of quantitative methods. Impact monitoring plays a key role in conservation management — to ensure effective delivery of projects — and is something that donors are increasingly interested in seeing. This internship will provide an opportunity for someone at the start of their conservation career to gain experience in the design, development and implementation of robust project Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) processes, developing skills in data handling and management essential for assessing impact of project activities.

This internship will support current work to design and deliver MEL at the project level and across the Africa programme portfolio, by helping to support establishing systems and processes that enable the analysis and presentation of data gathered as part of Fauna & Flora’s work in Uganda.

As part of our work in Uganda, members of the community have been collecting data on chimpanzee sightings, threats and human-wildlife conflict. However, the systems and methods used to collect this data have changed over time, making comparing data between years and identifying conservation impact achieved challenging. This inconsistency in data management is a challenge faced across Fauna & Flora that we are seeking to address.

During this internship, you will work with the Uganda team, who have been working alongside partners to conserve chimpanzees in a human-dominated landscape since 2014, and the Conservation Design & Impact (CDI) team, who aim to support and increase biodiversity conservation impact across Fauna & Flora’s global portfolio and the communities and partners with whom we work. Working with both teams, you will help ensure that community-gathered chimpanzee datasets are utilised to their full potential to maximise impact of the project. You will focus on cleaning, analysing and presenting existing data, as well as ensuring that future data collection systems allow for updated analysis to be conducted quickly and easily. You will work closely with the Uganda Team to ensure that anything developed fits their current and future needs but learnings from your work will also be applied to other Fauna & Flora projects.

You will learn about the importance of impact monitoring to conservation projects, as well as specific technical skills in data analysis and presentation, in particular, geographic information system (GIS) skills. You will learn about chimpanzee conservation, particularly the issues facing the species in a subsistence farming-dominated landscape. Finally, you will learn how a busy international NGO works, and have the opportunity to build networks in the sector.

Note that this internship has been designed to create a professional development opportunity for people who are new to the conservation sector. Therefore, applicants should have less than two years paid or unpaid experience in the conservation sector (not including academic work).

Disability Advice Service Lambeth (dasl) is Lambeth’s peer-led Disabled People’s Organisation. 

You will lead a two-year project contributing to the work of the No Wrong Door partnership – local organisations and local residents working together to ensure there is ‘No Wrong Door’ for Black Disabled people seeking employment, as they can expect excellent support from any organisation.

You will be supporting business model development, private sector partnerships, project management, fundraising, capacity development and communications. You will be a highly motivated and organised individual, looking to apply your expertise in business and finance to solve conservation challenges. You will have an understanding of developing business plans and developing financial models. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures as well as from rural entrepreneurs to corporates and investors. You will enjoy applying your business skills to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills and passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

Fluency in English is essential and French is highly desirable. Knowledge of language relevant to Fauna & Flora’s work, such as Bahasa, Swahili, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish, will be highly valuable.

• To organise regular online and face-to-face meetings for Digital Champions.
• To develop and implement a communications plan that raises awareness of the Digital Champions Network in Bexley and of the challenges and opportunities digital inclusion presents.
• To explore new opportunities with partners and the sector more broadly in a way that aims to expand the digital champions project and create a more digitally inclusive culture for Bexley residents.
• To organise regular events, training and information sessions for Digital Champions based on needs.
• To collect data and write reports on the project for presentation to partnership committees and health and wellbeing boards.
• To represent Bexley Digital Champions at London-wide and national forums and conferences.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and training as required.
• Identify, report, and monitor any safeguarding concerns in accordance with the latest local procedures relating to the appropriate service.

These are the normal duties which are required of the position; however, we do require that all staff be flexible and may be required to perform other duties to ensure the efficient running of services. 

Please note that the base for this role is Engine House, Bexley, and will involve regular travel throughout the London Borough of Bexley.

As our EDI Manager, you will be the subject matter expert, providing invaluable guidance and expertise to ensure our practices are not only compliant but also innovative. You'll collaborate with our People, Culture, and Inclusion Committee, keeping us at the forefront of inclusive practices.

Working closely with MND Association members, staff, and volunteers to understand and assess EDI needs, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for development. You'll support the development and lead the ongoing delivery of our EDI strategy. Your input will shape our culture and ensure everyone feels represented and valued.

You'll monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our EDI projects and initiatives, using data to drive improvements and inform our strategies. A key part of this role will be developing and delivering appropriate EDI management information, briefing papers, and progress reports to enable appropriate governance of the EDI strategy. Your insights will guide our actions, ensuring we're always moving forward.

Partnering with our Learning and Development team, you'll organise engaging EDI learning opportunities for our staff and volunteers including webinars, workshops, and e-learning materials. Equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to be part of an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Using effective change management processes and tools, you'll embed EDI initiatives throughout the Association. Collaborating with our communications team, you'll share updates and celebrate our progress both internally and externally.

You'll work alongside our HR and Volunteering teams to embed EDI principles into all our people processes. This includes reviewing, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, and resources that reflect our commitment to EDI across all areas of the Associations work.

Leading our EDI Network, you'll support the ongoing development, activities and events of the Association's Network Groups ensuring that each has clear objectives and can continue to develop an inclusive environment for everyone at the Association.
