Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable GCSE Science tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with serious illnesses. 

What will you be doing? 

- Run tutoring sessions online to support a young person. 

- Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to GCSE combined science or each of the individual areas (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). 

- Help to combat social isolation through fun and engaging tutoring sessions. 

- Adhere to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team

What are we looking for? 

Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of GCSE science concepts and specifications.

Teaching Skills: Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way.

Refettorio Felix is a community kitchen with an open-door policy in the Earl's Court area. We provide a safe haven and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for those facing homelessness and financial crises.

Using surplus food ingredients, our kitchen freshly prepares a three-course lunch for up to 140 people per weekday. We are looking for friendly and dedicated volunteers to support us in our mission to provide fresh and nutritious meals to our guests.

Your support will have a meaningful impact on the quality of lives of the most vulnerable members of the community. From trained and experienced Chefs to keen home cooks, we would love to hear from you!

We need dedicated volunteers to work at our Kings Road store. If you have a passion for fashion (especially second-hand), amazing customer service skills and you are keen to learn new skills, then this opportunity is for you. Meditation can give us a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both our emotional wellbeing and overall health. Do you have experience in delivering meditation sessions and would like to give back your time to support people in crisis?

The hustle and bustle of everyday life can leave us feeling tired and burnt out. People in our services are feeling this more than ever and would benefit from learning mindfulness techniques and strategies. It is important for us to pay more attention to the present moment, our own thoughts, feelings and the world around us as it is known to support and improve our mental wellbeing, sleep, and increase our overall happiness.

What you will be doing

• Facilitate a weekly online meditation session in a small group
• Plan each session and identify any items needed for the Meditation sessions.
• Lead on the logistics and set up of the session alongside the staff team.
• Inspire and motivate people using the services to attend.
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team.
