But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.
Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.
You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.

The Role
With the support of the Head of Individual Giving you will be responsible for campaign planning, testing, creative development, researching content and images for new appeals, agency management and delivery, making sure that any appeal is run efficiently and effectively from start to finish.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Be the positive, passionate face and first point of contact for the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) team.
· Build first-class and long-term relationships through telephone calls and emails with our supporters to ensure they have the best fundraising experience at Alzheimer’s Research UK.
· Provide central stewardship support to a remote-based team of Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs) to ensure effective delivery of the SLF strategy and budget.
· Provide administrative support for the whole of the SLF team, primarily to the home-based RFOs.
· Support the Sporting Events Team with recruitment and stewardship of events.
· Work with our Corporate Teams to effectively steward our partner companies.

· Ensure clear, consistent and up to date fundraising data management including adding new constituents to the fundraising database, accurately recording and maintaining supporter details, monitoring and tracking supporter income and making sure supporters are appropriately thanked in a timely manner.
· Support with social media and website updates including virtual fundraising challenges.
· Provide data support to the Senior Officer.
· Ensure all communications are in line with GDPR policies.
· Become the Central coordinator for SLF-wide activities and procedures, e.g. skydives, contactless machines and invoice processing.
Spotting Potential
· As the central point of contact for the SLF team, you will effectively and consistently spot opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community and flag these to the relevant members of the team.
· Identify and research potential community group and business partnerships for SLF teams.
· Use data reports to spot fundraising trends and identify opportunities.
· Help spot opportunities and contact supporters as part of our re-engagement process to encourage repeat fundraising.
· Effectively communicate ARUK’s legacy messages to supporters via telephone and in writing.
Collaboration
· Build strong relationships with teams across the organisation in order to work collaboratively, allowing you to offer the best stewardship journey to our supporters.
· Work with our Supporters and Families Team by sharing fundraiser stories to maximise potential publicity.
· Work closely with teams such as Science Communications, Digital and Design to help create appropriate stewardship journey assets for the whole of SLF.
· Liaise with our Supporter Care team to ensure processes are in-line across the organisation.
· Become involved in a Community Fundraising Project Group, adding creative insight and performing administrative and relationship-building duties based on one of our key fundraising areas.

The Prison Phoenix Trust
The PPT are the leading experts in yoga and meditation in prisons in the UK and Ireland. Since 1988 we have supported the personal development and rehabilitation people living in prison through meditation and yoga. We do this through 121 mentoring, group yoga classes, peer support newsletters and resources such as books and DVDs that help people practise yoga and meditation in their cells. We deliver the British Wheel of Yoga’s accredited training Teaching Yoga in Prison.
A small staff and volunteer team based in Oxford works with a network of self-employed yoga and meditation teachers across the UK and Ireland.
This new role is part of an expansion of the staff team to build the capacity of the charity to meet the growing demands for its services and the income to support this.
The role
At an exciting time for the expansion of the charity’s fundraising activities, the Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in driving and expanding the charity’s income from individual donors while leading the development and execution of community fundraising initiatives and events. This role is pivotal in building and nurturing long-term relationships with individual donors, cultivating new donor prospects, and developing innovative community engagement strategies, working with The PPT’s Development Lead.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and passionate professional with expertise in donor relations, event management, and community fundraising. They will be skilled at creating impactful experiences that inspire both individual and collective action, making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
Responsibilities
1. Individual Fundraising
Innovate and implement a donor acquisition strategy appropriate for the values of The PPT.
- Implement an audience segmentation approach to building individual, regular and legacy giving, drawing on accurate analysis of data, using The PPT’s Access database.
- Project manage delivery of quarterly postal appeals including segmentation and targeting of messaging, mail-merge and printing, dispatch by volunteers or mailing house.
- Email marketing, including use of Mailchimp to segment audiences and target messages.
- Optimise The PPT’s use of JustGiving and other fundraising platforms, regularly reviewing performance.
- Optimise fundraising functionality of The PPT’s website and support colleagues in the development and procurement of a new website.
2. Community fundraising
- Manage and plan the growth of The PPT’s community fund raising activities, with a particular focus on yoga groups and faith groups.
- Review and develop cost-effective levels of support for fundraisers.
3. Donor care:
- Manage relationships with current and prospective donors and fundraisers by ensuring timely acknowledgment of gifts.
- Refine use of automated systems, such as Mailchimp and JustGiving to automate acknowledgement of gifts where appropriate, while ensuring optimum levels of personalisation, such as hand-written cards and notes. Fulfil established donor journeys, ensuring donor led and annual stewardship is met.
4. Data management, analysis and reporting
- Maintain and update The PPT’s supporter database, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. Initially using Access and adapt with the move to a new database/CRM programme.
- Track, monitor and report quarterly on results of FR activities
- Support colleagues in the development and procurement of a new database and/or customer relationship management system.
5. Event Coordination
- Plan and project manage delivery of The PPT’s public facing, fundraising and donor stewardship events including planning, promotion, logistics, and follow-up.
- Integrate donor care into event planning, ensuring that donors feel personally valued and appreciated before, during, and after events.
- Work with Communications Coordinator in producing printed and display materials for events.
- Plan and project-manage delivery of The PPT’s presence at networking events for example in yoga, faith and criminal justice communities.
6. Communications and Marketing
- Contribute to development of social media audiences to meet charity’s profile-raising and fundraising objectives.
- Craft compelling messages and content for supporter communications that highlight The PPT’s mission and impact.

We're now looking for an exceptional Senior PR and Press Officer to help us amplify voices, challenge persistent, negative narratives around the social security system, and shift public attitudes about financial insecurity. Ideally, you’ll already have solid PR and press experience within a charity or comparable organisation’s press office, excellent media contacts, and the strategic mindset to put people’s real lives and complex challenges front and centre in your storytelling.
You’ll be someone who writes clearly and persuasively, handles sensitive topics with genuine care, and who’s excited by the challenge of finding creative ways to engage diverse audiences. Your strong relationships with journalists will help us ensure the voices of people facing financial insecurity are represented accurately, widely, and compassionately in the media.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. All team members come into our welcoming Farringdon office at least once a week, and you'll be joining a warm, supportive team that believes in each other, celebrates great work, and loves what we do.

The role of Director of Fundraising and Engagement will play a pivotal part in bringing the organisation’s five new strategic goals to life through targeted fundraising work made possible through strong relationship management, influential fundraising and engagement activity and effective partnership building with key stakeholders and donors. Using a test and learn approach, you will develop a diverse range of donors, allies and influencers who care about the planet and who will support and amplify the charity’s work. The role will also be responsible for exploring global funding opportunities around the creation of new regional hubs and ensuring that Population Matters’ fundraising is supported by clear, compelling, positive, targeted communications.
The role will also sit on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working collaboratively with the CEO and other Directors to ensure the organisation delivers impact across its strategic goals.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record in successfully developing and implementing fundraising strategies or plans, including leading a high performing team, as well as experience of securing funding from international sources or experience working in an international/global context. You will also have demonstratable success in developing and/or delivering an individual giving or legacy programme as well as a philanthropy or grant-seeking function.
You will have strong relationship building skills with major donors and individual supporters, able to align their giving needs with Population Matters’ work. Excellent communication skills will be combined with a resilient and optimistic approach and the ability to work independently with professional drive. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, successful and growing fundraising team, part of the wider High Value Partnerships team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the other members of the team to steward their donor relationships and bring in significant gifts to help fund the work of the RSPB. The role primarily focusses on delivering administrative, financial and events processes and requires someone with excellent attention to detail and experience of Microsoft Office applications, a CRM system and financial management tools.
About the Role
The Philanthropy Team works with individuals who make significant gifts of money, land and shares to the RSPB and who need bespoke and one-to-one management.
The key responsibilities of this role are: -
- Donation and gift management - ensuring all gifts are processed and recorded so they can be acknowledged in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Financial coding and reporting - including coding and allocation of gifts, and monthly & annual reconciliation and income reporting.
- Event planning and logisitics - working closely with other team members to deliver high quality events and meetings for donors and prospects.
- CRM management and development - managing and updating the current CRM system (Salesforce) for the team (including training) and ensuring it is functioning as required by working closely with the CRM Manager.
- Donor stewardship support - maintaining contact information and databases in an accurate and GDPR compliant way and assisting with the team’s donor stewardship programme and funding appeals (spreadsheets, mailings etc).
- Internal liaison - fostering good relations and cooperation with High Value Partnerships colleagues and other teams.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
- Good understanding of data protection and ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Detailed knowledge of and proficiency in the Microsoft suite and using a CRM system.
