Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity and works with thousands of schools and young people across the UK through its programmes. This role is critical to the delivery of our mission and will support the Volunteering Programmes Manager to meet the needs of our community of 350+ volunteers so that we can reach even more LGBT+ young people across the UK. The role will be working across the Programmes Team, working on the Ambassador Programme and supporting the School Talks programme weekly. This role is an entry-level position and will provide the successful candidate with a strong foundation for a career in the voluntary sector. Job Description

This role reports directly to the Volunteering Programmes Manager.

Programme delivery
● Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes
● Good regular communication and reporting to the Volunteering Programmes Manager
● Manage the administration of our Ambassador and School Talk programmes. Including the recruitment, training, opportunities and engagement of volunteers
● Deliver Ambassador volunteer training on the weekend, in-person at different locations across the UK and online
● Act as a first point of contact for ambassadors on our programmes, answering questions, sharing new resources and encouraging participation. This includes supporting ambassadors with their direct questions, managing the group chats on a daily basis and inboxes

Our School Talks are a key part of our work at Just Like Us. We take hundreds of bookings from schools every year, and deliver hundreds of school talks across the UK with the support of our LGBT+ volunteers aged 18-25.

This role will be key in working with schools to clarify and action their bookings with us, and supporting our volunteers to deliver those talks, working with the Volunteering Team.

About the role
Galop is looking for an experienced practitioner to provide effective support to LGBT victims and survivors of abuse and violence in the UK. You will work within the advocacy team to deliver advice, support, and advocacy to LGBT victims and survivors of interpersonal abuse and violence each year. You will act as a specialist lead within the advocacy team for work with Trans and Non-Binary survivors, including providing support, advice and expertise to your colleagues and externally. 
 
As a Senior Advocate, you will provide high quality advocacy and support to Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people who are subjected to abuse and violence, specifically domestic abuse and sexual violence, focusing on their needs, safety and recovery. This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have been victims of violence and abuse.  Your work will enable LGBT people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community. 
 
You will work directly with Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related to domestic abuse and sexual violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.

Finance Officer

Birmingham LGBT is seeking to appoint a Finance Officer to provide professional financial support to the organisation and to join the motivated and enthusiastic team at the Birmingham LGBT Centre, 151 Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 6EW. We are offering a permanent contract, full-time (37 hours per week) with occasional evening and weekend work. The post-holder will be entitled to 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays. The Wellbeing and Lifeskills worker will support residents experiencing mental health pressures, to access cultural sensitive services and develop resilience, coping skills and improve overall wellbeing.

Specific Duties:

• Develop person centred multi-agency support plans. Work to a recovery based aspirations led model.
• Collect baseline information about clients current mental health needs, and record and monitor progress as they engage with the service.
• Provide assertive support to ensure effective engagement to achieve personal goals and aspirations for wellness and enjoyment of life.
• Act as a point of contact for other agencies working with the individual. Plan interventions flexibly to meet individual needs.
• Provide initial advocacy and support to access appropriate services and agencies
• Plan for reduced involvement as the service user gains sustained mental wellbeing and control. Plan for service exits, building in aftercare and rapid return if necessary.
• Support individuals to engage in meaningful activity and facilitate activities such as an LGBT group and healthy eating group. Develop other activities with guidance and input from service users.
• Regularly review barriers to progress, involving other agencies as necessary.
• Provide quarterly statistical information such as demographics and outcomes, for funders and internal use.
• Keep up to date on current treatment models, care philosophy and mental health legislation.
• Deal with general correspondence and enquiries relating to service users and the service. Keep up to date service user records.

About You

You will have experience of working with people experiencing mental ill health, experience of working with and managing risk therapeutically, experience of working in a partnership environment or with other agencies, experience of facilitating groups, setting group objectives and reviewing outcomes, and experience of using data bases to record client need, interventions and progress. You will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the needs of young migrants and refugees or other chronically excluded groups. You will have knowledge of the range of services available to people with mental health needs or other complex needs. You excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels abd the ability to plan and organise own workload

As the Impact and Fundraising Manager, you will work hands on with our delivery team to design data collection systems that feel manageable and purposeful, not burdensome. You understand that different people think, process, and work in different ways, so you will create multiple methods for collecting the same data to suit different styles.

You take a methodical approach to understanding what data we need to showcase impact, then build the frameworks and provide the practical support to make collection happen across multiple methods. You empower the team to grow their confidence in impact measurement through training, clear guidance, and being there alongside them.

You will translate the data we collect into compelling, heartfelt stories that position The Mason Foundation as best practice. You will engage with traditional media and sector publications to showcase our work and support the COO with fundraising by providing the impact evidence that inspires funders and commissioners to collaborate with us.

What We're Looking For

• Methodical approach to collecting data across multiple different methods, understanding what needs to be collected to showcase impact without being burdensome

• Hands on experience supporting frontline teams with data and impact collection, building their confidence and skills

• Ability to design multiple ways of collecting a uniform dataset, recognizing different thinking, processing, and working styles

• Strong storyteller who can make data heartfelt and human whilst maintaining evidence-based rigour

• Experience with traditional media engagement (press releases, media relations) and writing for sector publications

• Understanding of neuroinclusion, community development, or social impact landscapes

• Experience working with CRM systems and ability to lead exploration of accessible data tools

• Empathetic, supportive, highly organised, and self-motivated with ability to work part time hours efficiently in a remote environment

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Delivery and Support Coordinator to deliver our Propel programme across Scotland, building partnerships and championing neuroinclusion.

As the Training and Support Worker, you'll engage with schools, colleges, community settings and employers, delivering training, supporting implementation, and empowering neurodivergent young people into sustainable employment. You'll play a key role in developing the programme through partner insight and keeping up with best practice in workplace neuroinclusion.

You will be required to travel regularly to deliver face-to-face training within schools, colleges, community settings and workplaces across Scotland, particularly Edinburgh and Glasgow.

What We're Looking For

• A passionate advocate for neurodivergent young people with experience in SEND, employability, or community engagement

• Strong facilitator who can deliver engaging, impactful training to diverse audiences

• Excellent communicator who builds genuine relationships across education, community and employer sectors

• Self-motivated with a 'make it happen' attitude and ability to work independently

• Team player who understands the importance of collaboration

• Driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
