About the role
This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT+ people who have experienced sexual violence. Your work will enable LGBT+ people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.
You will work directly with LGBT+ victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of sexual violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT+ people facing abuse or violence. You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT+ survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT+ people facing abuse and violence.
This is a pivotal moment in Galop’s journey. We have grown quickly over the last six years and you will be part of the future of our work. You’ll help us reach, support and assist more of our community nationally. You’ll be helping to amplify the voices of LGBT+ survivors of abuse, and ensure that they are at the centre of Galop’s service.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting LGBT+ people who have experienced sexual violence. You will have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by LGBT+ people and be committed to providing empathetic, person-centred support. You will be able to handle sensitive situations with care and professionalism, maintaining strong boundaries while being supportive and empowering.
You will have expertise in delivering needs-led specialist support services and you will need to be solutions-focussed and enjoy working collaboratively across a diverse and committed team. You’ll need to have good resilience and self-care and be prepared to work in an environment where abuse and violence are regularly talked about. You’ll need to understand the impact of trauma and how that affects our team. In-house support, upskilling, and training will be provided – you don’t need to be an expert in abuse and violence to be the right person for this role.
There is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT+ needs, and impact of discrimination as the Helpline is run for LGBT people experiencing domestic violence.

About the role
As our Head of Legacy and Mid-Value, you will lead the dedicated Legacy and Mid-Value Squad to set and deliver predominantly one-to-many direct marketing strategies that will allow us to unlock the great potential we have within our large and committed supporter-base for donors to give at a higher level either during their life-time and/or by leaving a legacy for children.
You will work within a scrum (championing agile ways of working within the team) to deliver ambitious results and will collaborate closely with the other teams across Fundraising and Marketing as well as contributing to global communities of specialists in Legacy and Mid-Value fundraising.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Legacy Engagement and Mid-value Squad to create top-tier fundraising programs.
- Develop and implement integrated plans, budgets, and forecasts for Legacy, In-memory, and mid-value fundraising to achieve long-term goals.
- Establish and maintain a clear vision to achieve the Squad's objectives over various time frames.
- Collaborate closely with the Loyalty Squad, Regional teams, and the Philanthropy team to execute the strategy.
- Create and apply new strategies to promote legacies to key groups like volunteers, high-value donors, and in-memory donors.
- Oversee supporter relationship management and pipeline development for both programs.
- Use data to continually optimize our work for the best use of resources and highest income in the mid to long term.
- Support squad members to independently complete tasks for maximum impact.
- Advocate for the needs of legacy and mid-value audiences in cross-organizational projects.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Proven experience of providing effective and inspiring leadership
- A good understanding of legacy and individual giving programmes and what drives success
- Experience of managing internal and external creative, direct marketing, telemarketing and digital agencies
- Extensive experience in legacy and/or mid-value fundraising, including prospecting, pipeline development and stewardship
- Proven experience in all the levers of fundraising performance and journey planning (data, media, content, creative)
- Experience using data analysis, insight to improve fundraising performance or pipeline management
- Proven experience of using consumer insight at the heart of strategy, proposition, and journey development
- Proven commercial acumen and a demonstrable track record of improving marketing effectiveness and efficiency
- Be a natural communicator, both verbal and written, with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

About you
As our Philanthropy Executive (Trusts & Foundations), you will be responsible for maximising income through managing a portfolio of four-to-five figure partners and prospects, engage with key external supporters and help the team build relationships with individual philanthropists and trusts through meetings, events, tailored communications and funding applications.
You will also play an essential role in building and nurturing relationships with UK-based trusts, supporting both our international and UK-based initiatives.

- Support the Trusts team during emergencies to maximize fundraising efforts for humanitarian responses globally.

We are looking for a Programme Manager to join the Start Network within our Humanitarian Department to oversee the successful implementation, performance and strategic direction of the global Start Fund programme.

Start Network is a global membership of close to 100 civil society organisations, working across six continents, to tackle what we see as the biggest systemic problems in the global humanitarian system. Start Network is an independent charity that works with Save the Children, as a grant custodian for some Start Network initiatives.

Start Network was formerly hosted within Save the Children UK (SCUK), where it was incubated since its establishment in 2010. When Start Network registered as an independent charity in 2019, the Start Programmes comprising Start Funds and Crisis Anticipation and Risk Financing continued to be hosted by SCUK as Grant Custodian to Start Network. A Grant Custodian Agreement is in-place, which describes the roles and commitments of each entity.
The Start Fund Programme Manager is a role within the Start Funds (as part of Start Programmes) contracted and line-managed within SCUK.
About the role
Start Network is a leading-edge funder, enabling network members to access rapid, early and risk-informed funding based on collective decision making and local leadership. As a funder, Start provides an alternative to other funding mechanisms in the humanitarian sector, with a unique niche focused on small-to-medium sized and underfunded crises and a progressive model that relies on collaboration with members deciding and actively managing the funds in concert.
The Start Fund Programme Manager will be responsible for the performance and strategic direction of the global Start Fund, as part of Start Network's family of funds. The global Start Fund provides around £20M of rapid financing in response to underfunded small to medium scale crises, spikes in chronic crises, and in anticipation of impending crises, filling a critical gap in humanitarian financing.
As the Programme Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the global Start Fund programme, managing all contractual obligations and compliance. In addition, the role will continue working closely with the Head of Start Funds to ensure the fund contributes toward Start Network strategy.
You will provide support to Start Network's resource mobilisation work to ensure the fund is appropriately resourced as well as providing leadership to the Start Fund Programme Team ensuring successful implementation of the global Start Fund, and management of crisis alerts and associated awards.
In this role, you will:
People management
- Effectively manage a team of four Start Fund Programme Officers responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Start Fund.
- Proactively develop relationships built on trust, provide staff with clear guidance and direction; use coaching techniques to support personal ambition and professional development. They will create an inclusive environment where team members feel safe to express ideas and acknowledge mistakes.
- Ensure that Start Funds team members have performance and professional development goals, that correspond with Start Funds team objectives, and are well managed and monitored.
Programme leadership
- Play a critical role in representing the global Start Fund as part of Start Network's family of funds, both internally and externally.
- With support from the Head of Start Funds, constantly review and propose adjustments to the Start Fund programme approach in response to learning, and to ensure continued alignment with Start Network strategy.
- Be responsible for the management of the Start Fund Committee as one of the fund's governing bodies.
- As part of the Start Funds team, regularly review and adapt the global Start Fund programme design and operations to ensure it remains fit for purpose.

Role Summary
LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people. We are looking for a People Advisor to support in providing advice, guidance, and clarity for all colleagues on various HR and recruitment systems and processes. The People Advisor works alongside the rest of “Team People” which also comprises of Organisational Development, Volunteer Programme and Centre Operations – working to ensure that LGBT Foundation has the best working environment and processes possible for its colleagues.

Role Accountabilities
1. Support with the implementation of the People Strategy

2. Ensuring all HR and operational policies and procedures are implemented across the organisation, and helping to support colleagues and advise SLT where they are not adhered to or pose a risk to the organisation.
- Supporting LGBT Foundation’s Policies to ensure they are updated regularly and support in drafting updates for existing and brand-new policies relating to our People, including researching best practice.
- Develop new processes and procedures in line with our policies and practice to support line managers and colleagues.
- Provide training to individuals and the wider team on HR and People processes when required.
3. Giving support and advice to all levels of the organisation with all matters regarding HR policy and procedure to ensure effective and efficient management of attendance, performance, misconduct, employee dispute resolution.
- Ensure that guidance and advice remain up to date based on current legislation, case law and HR best practice.
- Support the Deputy Director of People with complex and contentious cases, investigations, and appeals.
- Supporting the senior leadership team by providing robust advice on a variety of People related cases and initiatives.
- Support line managers (and individuals) on navigating formal processes to ensure legal compliance, fairness, and consistency.
- Support in creating employment-related documentation when required and ensuring the organisation has up to date and relevant records in line with employment law.
4. Ensure that the organisation’s training and development aims are delivered.
- Support in implementing the training and development needs of the organisation as part of the people strategy, including evaluation as part of a quality cycle.
- Ensure all line managers conduct regular, consistent, and supportive one to ones, appraisals, specifically concerning professional development needs of individuals in line with careers objectives where appropriate.
- Deliver and/or organise HR and organisational training in line with the quality cycle, including GDPR, line management and any other related areas to ensure the organisation and its colleagues stay compliant, with the Deputy Director of People.

5. Oversee and support implementation of our recruitment processes and work alongside colleagues and SLT to work toward the best practice when it comes to fair and inclusive recruitment in line with the organisation’s diversity targets and employment law.
- Ensure the recruitment checklist is followed by all recruiting managers and colleagues.
- Support in implementing up to date training on inclusive recruiting practices.
- Support in designing a range of interview and shortlisting activities.
- Produce and ensure sign off from all employment documentation in line with Employment Law - including retention and storage, throughout the life of the employee journey
- Assist with all key stages of the employee lifecycle from on-boarding, training and development and through to exit interviews.
6. Work with the Finance team and other key colleagues to assist in the delivery of monthly payroll processes, including changes, new starters and leavers from LGBT Foundation
- Complete payroll onboarding of new starters, including HMRC and personal details, on a monthly cycle.
- Assist with calculations for leavers, employees making changes to their pay, and other payroll matters on the same monthly cycle.
- Assist with implementation of wider payroll measures such as organisational pay initiatives, changes to legislation, and special allowances.
- Ensure that the organisation’s HR system is accurate at all times as a point of reference for monthly payroll, including holding the responsibility for updating pay and terms information on the HR system for all colleagues.
- Act as a point of contact with our external payroll provider ensuring any changes are captured each month.

As the Financial Controller you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and report into the Chief Executive Officer. We run a National Abuse & Violence Helpline, which brings together our four national support helplines for LGBT+ victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; rape and sexual abuse; and so-called “conversion therapy”. We provide longer-term support to thousands of LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse through our advocacy and therapeutic services. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change, to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research around LGBT+ people’s experiences of abuse and violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT+ people around the country.
About the Comms Manager
The Comms Manager is a strategic, hands-on and varied role that reports into our Head of Fundraising and Comms. You will play a pivotal part in helping Galop to reach our community, increase engagement amongst our supporters and amplify the voices of LGBT+ abuse and violence victims.
You will be our first point of contact with the press and media, and lead on drafting statements, providing quotes, arranging media and briefing the CEO for any external appearances.
You will have responsibility and oversight of our social media channels and website content, working closely with key stakeholders across our fundraising, frontline and senior management teams to meet the needs of the charity and create content which resonates with our audience.
You will work with and support the CEO and Head of Fundraising and Comms to drive internal comms as Galop grows. You will also be responsible for co-creating, planning and delivering an annual communications plan for the organisation with the senior leadership team, ensuring an effective and consistent voice in both our proactive and reactive comms work.
The need for Galop’s work has grown in recent years, and this is an exciting time to join our ambitious team and help shape our charity’s future. Due to the nature of the role, in cases of emergencies or urgent external situations, weekend or evening work may occasionally be required.
Location: Hybrid – with travel to Galop’s offices in central London required two days a week.

About the Interim Director Of People role:
Following a significant period of growth over the last three years, Galop is now in a phase of stabilisation to ensure our workforce is supported in continuing to deliver essential services to the LGBT+ community. We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of People, Culture, and Operations to join our team. This role is critical in driving our strategic initiatives related to human resources, organisational culture, and operational efficiency.
Some of the key areas of responsibility will include:
· Develop and implement people strategies that support our mission and goals and act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture and promote diversity and inclusion across the organization, working with an Anti-Racism Consultant.
· Implement training and development programs focused on legislative soundness and cultural competency and intersectionality.
· Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performing work environment with Line manager responsibility for an HR Advisor, Senior Operations Manager and managing relationships with external professionals, including HR consultants and IT and data management support.
About the person:
The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of the complexities and intersections within the LGBT+ community and workforce. Supported by a Trustee Board that includes senior HR expertise, this role requires someone who has experience in establishing a trusted culture, preferably within a third sector organisation. Minimum CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience), including a solid understanding of UK employment law.

Our client provides refuge and community based (outreach) support to adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. They offer their services to both women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse and need a safe place to stay, and to those out in the community who are living with the impact of domestic abuse.
As Counselling Coordinator you will have a variety of duties and responsibilities which will include but are not limited to:
- Coordination of internal counselling referrals
- Recruitment of volunteer / student counsellors
- Manage and advise the volunteer and student counsellors and provide supervision
- Assist Service Delivery Manager in monitoring the counselling referrals and figures
- Attend any and all relevant training within the organisation
- Carry your own small caseload as / when needed
- Manage and assess counselling referrals and manage wait list
- Liaise with Managers and colleagues re wait list and times
ABOUT YOU
They’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within care and support and Domestic Abuse. Supporting clients who have experienced domestic abuse and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals and families. You’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families we work with, with top notch communication skills. It is desirable if you have had experience of working within a Domestic Abuse Service.
A recognised diploma or degree in counselling and membership of
and / or eligibility for accreditation and/or registration by BACP / UKCP or equivalent.
An excellent understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on survivors and any children and experience of clinical practice of working with trauma and survivors affected by domestic abuse.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation.
You will work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, however there may be expectation to work some evenings up to 8pm and occasional weekends and bank holidays.
You will be required to have flexibility to travel across Derbyshire therefore driving licence and access to a car (with business insurance) is essential
