We are looking for a friendly, proactive and highly organised Reception & Office Assistant to be the welcoming presence in our Reading office and help ensure our offices are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained places for our colleagues and visitors.

There is always plenty to do – so we’re looking for a Reception and Office Assistant who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.

How you’ll make a difference

A key member of our IT & Operations team, you’ll work closely with colleagues to:

· Greet visitors and manage front-of-house duties

· Coordinate health and safety checks and building maintenance

· Support office services including ordering of supplies, post and meeting room setup

· Assist with general maintenance and liaise with contractors

The Role

• This role ensures the efficient delivery of a comprehensive residential rehabilitation programme with emphasis on supporting residents’ transition to independent living within their community.

About the Role:

As our Compliance Officer, you will take the lead on property compliance and certification across Homeless Oxfordshire's housing portfolio. You will oversee safety inspections, manage risk assessments, maintain up-to-date records, and coordinate with contractors and landlords to ensure all remedial and planned works meet health, safety, and housing regulations. We will also entrust you with coordinating employer health and safety regulations. Reporting to the Head of Property and Facilities, your role is central to protecting residents and enabling our operational teams to deliver outstanding service.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

· Ensure all regulatory requirements & certifications are maintained and securely documented (e.g. gas, Electrical safety, legionella, Asbestos, fire alarm and lighting tests etc.), Ready for inspection as required.

· Ensure all HMO licencing information is up to date for all relevant properties and records of HMO Licences are retained on in-form and work together with Local Authorities. Ensure all additional works that are required for licence are completed in a timely manner.

· Oversee weekly and monthly Health and safety inspections for all sites.

· Work with Head of property & Facilities on Health and safety tasks for the organisation

· Contribute towards the budget setting for all planned compliance and health and safety works and ensure this remains within the budget set.

· Promote a high standard of hygiene among staff and residents and ensure controls are in place to reduce the risk of pests, damp, and mould, taking remedial action.

· Remain informed of all relevant property legislation for the private rented sector, HMOs and supported accommodation and implement changes within the organisation to maintain compliance.

· Support operational managers and staff to deliver outstanding services to our residents.

· To take control of the accident reporting, working with managers and SMT to ensure that all staff adhere to the process of reporting these incidents.

We are still in a cost-of-living crisis and the proposed changes to the winter fuel payment criteria mean that many older people in the UK are in desperate need of advice and support. As a Customer Adviser, you will be playing an important role in this vital service; providing information and advice for older people in need, and signposting them, their families, carers and other professionals to relevant bodies that can help with their specific requirements.

Our team of Customer Advisers are dedicated to providing a high-quality service to those in later life and are passionate about ensuring all callers receive the guidance and support they need. The team handles thousands of calls, emails and webchats each year. Some of these enquiries can be emotionally tough, but there is no better feeling than knowing that you have helped someone.

This role offers hybrid working between home and our offices in Blackpool and Ashburton (a robust home broadband connection is essential). The team work from the office at least 1day a week, although this can be more if you prefer. You will need to live within an easily commutable distance of the office either by car or public transport, we suggest up to an hour's commute. During the probation and training period you may be required to come into the office 2-3 days a week. We are currently trialling fortnightly office attendance, but this could be subject to change in future.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Legacy Marketing Manager to play a key role in shaping the future of our legacy marketing programme.

Legacy gifts are our single largest source of voluntary income, with significant potential for growth. To recognise this, we have secured additional investment to help us engage, inspire and acquire new legacy supporters through multi-channel marketing activities.

Working closely with the Heads of Fundraising Campaigns and Individual Giving, you will develop strategies to raise awareness of gifts in Wills, reach new audiences and develop new supporter journeys to engage new and existing legacy pledgers and prospects with our research.

As a creative, innovative and data-led marketeer, you will develop and deliver our legacy fundraising programme with the support of your direct reports – the Legacy Marketing and Legacy Stewardship Officers – and the Digital Marketing and Fundraising Communications teams. 

You will also build important relationships with colleagues across the Development Office, including working with Philanthropy to promote legacy giving to their audiences.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will plan, manage and execute multi-channel campaigns across the marketing mix and work with your team to deliver exceptional campaigns and stewardship, to recruit, retain and engage our committed supporters.

• Work with your Manager to devise and implement marketing and stewardship strategies to maximise legacy giving and engage with existing legacy pledgers. 
• Be responsible for using data and insights to innovate and maximise our legacy marketing campaigns to targeted audiences, and to develop, test and analyse new activities.

The role

Age UK Croydon is passionate about achieving our mission to reach, involve, support and connect people so they can age well in Croydon

Our Healthier Lifestyles Service includes a programme of seated and standing exercise, health checks and social engagement together with our 3 Memory Tree Cafés. Memory Tree cafes combine music and singing, dancing, reminiscence, exercise, activity and social interaction providing a safe and relaxing environment for older people living with dementia and their carers. Our programmes are delivered in various settings across the borough including care homes, sheltered housing and community venues together with our own Brigstock Road Community Hall.

The Healthier Lifestyle team at Age UK Croydon offers a range of inclusive and accessible activities and events across the borough of Croydon combining exercise and social engagement in a variety of local settings.  These sessions help reduce isolation, improve independence, prevent falls, increase fitness levels and manage health conditions. They also provide social engagement and interaction, information and support around living with dementia, a safe and welcoming space for all to engage and relax.

Duties will include (but are not limited to) –

• Independently delivering chair-based exercise sessions daily in Croydon care homes to residents.
• As an Age UK Croydon ambassador promote our services including via talks and presentations to community groups across the Borough.
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with care home, health hub venue staff and partner organisations or talk providers.
• Working as part of the health hub team lead on the delivery of health hubs in various Croydon locations.
• To be the key point of liaison for all clients accessing the Activity Service.
