About the role:
Weekends can be a particularly important time in supported accommodation. With fewer services open and less structure around the day, having a consistent, trusted member of staff available can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing, confidence and ability to keep moving forward.
As a Weekend Support Assistant at St John’s Mansions, you’ll provide practical, person-centred support to residents, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to live more independently. Working from agreed support and risk plans, you might help someone manage their money or accommodation, access appointments and community services, develop everyday living skills or stay engaged with activities and goals that matter to them.
You’ll also play an important role in keeping the service safe and well coordinated throughout the weekend. You’ll respond to changing needs, safeguarding concerns and unexpected situations, maintain accurate records and make sure important information is clearly handed over to the wider team. You’ll need to be approachable and compassionate, while also confident in setting boundaries, using your judgement and knowing when concerns need to be escalated.
You’ll join an experienced team where you can develop your knowledge of supported housing, safeguarding, recovery-focused practice and working alongside people experiencing multiple disadvantage, with access to training, supervision and ongoing development.
We have two roles available, 1x 37.5 hrs per week and 1x 22.5 hrs per week. Exact working patterns will be discussed in interview.
About you:
- You can build positive, respectful relationships with people while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- You’re able to encourage and motivate people to build confidence and independence, rather than simply doing things for them.
- You can stay calm, think clearly and respond appropriately when situations change or become challenging.
- You’re organised and reliable, with the ability to prioritise work, communicate clearly and keep accurate records.
- You understand, or are keen to develop your understanding of, homelessness, mental health, trauma, substance use and the barriers people can face when trying to move forward.
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.

Whether you're already managing a supported housing service or looking to take your next step into management, you'll have the opportunity to shape a service, support a great team and help people rebuild their lives.
Your key responsibilities will include
• Managing the day-to-day operation of TACT's supported housing service
• Leading, supervising and developing a team of Housing Workers and volunteers
• Overseeing referrals, assessments, sign-ups, move on, warnings and notices
• Supporting residents to sustain tenancies, maximise income and achieve recovery goals
• Managing occupancy, voids, rent accounts, compliance and property standards
• Responding to safeguarding concerns, incidents and complex resident situations
• Working closely with Y Housing, local authorities, treatment providers and partner agencies
• Producing reports, performance information and service data to support continuous improvement
If you have these essential skills:
• Experience of supported housing, housing-related support, tenancy sustainment or supported accommodation services
• Experience supporting adults affected by addiction, mental health difficulties or other complex social needs
• Relevant Level 4 Housing qualification (or you’re willing and able to start this by October 2026)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries
Ability to remain calm, resilient and professional when managing challenging situations
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Ability to build genuine, trusting relationships whilst maintaining accountability and boundaries
• Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
• Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
we'd love to hear from you. You don't need to tick every box. If you think you have the right values, skills and experience, we'd encourage you to apply.
We'd love it you also have:
• Relevant lived experience of addiction recovery, mental health difficulties or other complex social needs
• Experience supervising, coordinating or line managing staff, volunteers or placements
• Other housing, health and social care or similar qualifications or training
• Leadership, management or coaching qualifications
• Knowledge of peer support, recovery communities or the voluntary sector
What we offer
• Enhanced annual leave entitlement and family friendly policies

What would your priorities be during your first three months, how would you structure the team and review the service? We are experts by experience, providing an open door for support with addiction recovery and mental wellbeing.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
About the role:
Recovery is about more than addressing immediate needs. It is also about having somewhere to belong, opportunities to build confidence and skills, meaningful connections with other people, and the chance to take part in the community around you. As our Recovery and Opportunities Co-ordinator, you’ll help make those opportunities a reality for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage in our St John's Mansions service.
You’ll develop and coordinate our Recovery and Opportunities programme, creating activities and opportunities that reflect what clients actually want from their services and communities. You’ll work alongside clients, colleagues, volunteers and peer supporters to co-produce activities, build participation and make sure people are supported to get involved in ways that feel meaningful to them. You’ll also help equip others with the confidence, training and resources they need to deliver opportunities effectively.
A big part of the role happens beyond our services. You’ll build strong relationships with community organisations, local residents, statutory and voluntary-sector partners and other opportunities across Islington, opening doors for clients to access volunteering, education, cultural activities and wider community life. You’ll represent Single Homeless Project (SHP) at local forums and events, champion social value across our services and look for creative ways we can contribute positively to the communities our clients are part of.
You’ll also help us understand what is making a difference, monitoring participation and outcomes and using what we learn to strengthen the programme over time. It’s a role with plenty of scope for creativity and initiative, where you can turn relationships, ideas and client feedback into opportunities that reduce isolation, strengthen belonging and help people move forward with greater confidence, independence and purpose.
About you:
- You have experience engaging and motivating people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including people who may have previously found it difficult to engage with services or opportunities.
- You can develop, coordinate and facilitate engaging groups, activities or programmes, and understand how to encourage meaningful participation from different people.
- You’re confident building relationships with community organisations, residents, colleagues and external partners, and can turn those relationships into practical opportunities for clients.
- You understand the importance of social value and social impact and can think creatively about how services can contribute positively to their local communities.
- You’re an engaging communicator who can work collaboratively across different teams, represent a service externally and bring people together around a shared goal.

We are looking for an inspirational new CEO to lead our dedicated team and continue to develop SLRA’s outstanding services and impact. You may be an experienced CEO or have the skills and determination needed to step up into the role. We are looking for someone who will ensure the continued exceptional impact of our work with local migrant individuals and communities and who will continue to develop our campaigning and policy influencing work at a time when the hostility of the external environment and government policies is more challenging than ever. If you think you might be the right person for this role, feel that you could bring the best out in those you lead and have the capability to define SLRA’s direction over the coming years, then we would love to hear from you.
SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis because of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. We also campaign for a fairer immigration system, involving local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.
For all roles, we particularly welcome and encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals, and those who are migrants or refugees, and who have lived experience of the hostile immigration system. We are proud to be a member of the Experts by Experience Employment Network, which aims to create a charitable sector that is led by people with lived experience of the asylum and immigration system. As part of this network, we challenge the one-size-fits-all approach in our employment practices, and respect personal circumstances and needs of people with lived experience. Please feel free to use information and resources on their website which may help in preparing your job application.

The Belay Foundation supports adoptive, kinship and special guardianship families raising children who have experienced early developmental trauma, often alongside neurodiversity. Founded in 2020 from lived experience, Belay offers something many families struggle to find elsewhere: practical, in-home support and expert guidance that’s genuinely trauma-responsive, delivered by people who understand what these families are living through.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a pivotal stage in our development. Over the past year, we have strengthened our services, systems and organisational foundations and developed ambitious plans for the future. As we continue to grow our reach and impact, we're looking for a Services Manager to organise and deliver our services such as guidance on trauma responsive respite and disability benefit expertise to our families.
Working closely with our Services Director, you'll use your lived or professional experience of our adoptive and kinship families to develop and deliver valued, practical and trauma-responsive support to families across England and Wales. This is key role, working directly with parents and carers, and an opportunity to really make a difference in our families’ lives.
This is a home-based role for two days per week (0.4 FTE), offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to shape a growing national charity. There may be potential to increase the hours over time, subject to funding, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the organisation. This is a home‑based role, but applicants must be permanently based, and have the right to work, in the United Kingdom. For legal, tax, and operational reasons, we cannot consider applications from outside the UK.
If you're someone passionate about making a difference to adoptive and kinship families with the experience of delivering family support, we'd love to hear from you.
Please see the Candidate Application Pack for further details, including the full job description, candidate requirements and the application/ interview process. Please note that we reserve the right to close applications one week early should we receive a very high number of candidates.
