About the role

We are looking for an excellent and experienced relationship fundraiser, who excels at identifying and building inspiring and genuine connections with high net-worth individual donors, who have the capacity to give six- and seven- figure gifts.

This role requires a motivated, creative and confident individual, who thrives on getting out and about and meeting with supporters. The role will help shape the Business Development and Philanthropy Team’s plans to deliver outstanding donor engagement and stewardship so that our donors are inspired and proud to support us and enjoy their philanthropic giving experience. This role will make a vital contribution to delivering a step change in our philanthropic income growth to support Practical Action’s strategic ambition and mission.

About you

We are seeking a motivated, creative and confident individual, who thrives on getting out and about and meeting with supporters. You will have at least 5 years’ experience of securing gifts from high net-worth individuals making gifts privately or through family trusts, donor advised funds and corporations.

Accountabilities

• Lead the process of identifying and cultivating individual donor prospects (UK and international) capable of giving six- and seven- figure gifts, fully understanding their funding preferences, criteria and fit with Practical Action.
• Steward a portfolio of loyal and high-quality donors, giving five and six figure annual gifts and ensure our donors receive exceptional stewardship, feel valued for their support and become advocates of Practical Action to their friends, family and networks.
• Work with autonomy and represent Practical Action at one-to-one meetings and networking events with high net-worth individuals.
• Work with senior colleagues and the Board of Trustees to identify prospects, build relationships and secure gifts from high net-worth individuals.
• Distil complex information and messaging into powerful, emotive and high-quality tailored communications (including pitches, cases for support, bespoke proposals and donor reports) that demonstrate impact and inspire giving by individual donors and family trusts.

Person Specification

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

• Significant fundraising experience (5 years+) of securing gifts from high net-worth individuals making gifts privately, or through family trusts, donor advised funds and corporations.
• Excellent knowledge about philanthropy sector developments, trends and key philanthropic organisations and networks in the UK and internationally.
• A strong and proven track record of building new prospect pipelines and of managing a portfolio of donors, including demonstrable experience of securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• An experienced and confident networker with a proven ability to build and maintain a diverse group of contacts, at all levels, both internally and externally, and represent Practical Action to inspire, secure commitment and support.
• Knowledge of data protection principles, legal requirements, and ethical fundraising practice is essential.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to summarise and distil complex issues in an inspiring way.
• Ability and confidence to influence and manage successful internal relationships including writing reports and donor meeting briefings for senior colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment, ensuring our donors receive excellent stewardship throughout their relationship with Practical Action.
• Strong project management skills to lead approaches backed up by an appropriate level of research and analysis.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to trial, learn and adapt — whether building on existing major giving experience or trialling new ideas and approaches to reach new donors audiences, for example next generation or diaspora giving.
• You will contribute to a culture of kindness, collaboration, rigour and accountability.

About The Job:

This is a vital role in delivering our fundraising strategy and goals. The role holder will be responsible for raising income from individuals and legacies and increasing the volume and value of our supporter relationships, engaging new audiences and driving sustainable income growth. We will also trust the role holder to deliver fantastic supporter journeys and supporter experiences and contribute to the overall implementation of the Fundraising Team’s objectives.

Main Areas Of Responsibility:

Income Generation

· Lead on raising income to an agreed target, through acquisition, development and retention of individuals and legacy pledgers, as agreed with the Head of Fundraising and Communications.

Strategy

· Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to build and deliver a highly effective, sustainable, audience-centred public fundraising and supporter experience plan.

· Engage in market and supporter insight to inform decision-making and development of new activity/products.

· Develop a good understanding of our supporter base, their motivations and behaviours. Use our CRM database (Raisers’ Edge NXT) and data analysis and insights to inform the development of new fundraising campaigns and products.

· Take the lead role in the development of effective supporter journeys, working with the Community Fundraising Team to convert community fundraisers and events participants into regular donors.

· Lead the design and delivery of individual giving campaigns (including the Christmas campaign), using direct mail, digital marketing and advertisements to drive supporter acquisition and retention.

· Develop and design our legacy programme, working with Farewill and local law firms to encourage supporters to include Homeless Oxfordshire in their will.

· Work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to develop and deliver a mid-level giving programme, driving the major donor pipeline and effectively stewarding donors giving at the £300-£1,000 level.

Operational Delivery

· Be responsible for the setting and managing of budgets, targets and KPIs. Report on progress, trends and take action when required. Analyse results and evaluate activity to inform future plans.

· Act as the lead-user for Raisers’ Edge, supervise the Data Administrator to ensure accurate data entry and reconciliation, and support the team with reporting and data analysis.

· Work collaboratively to ensure that all income generation activity is integrated and opportunities for cross-team working are maximised.

· Develop processes that enhance the team’s capacity, efficiency, and ensure effective fundraising.

· Manage external partners and agencies involved in fundraising delivery, ensuring due diligence, high quality and effectiveness.

· Ensure the highest standard of supporter experience in order to make the most of every interaction.

· Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all areas of the public fundraising portfolio, including the Fundraising Code of Practice, Data Protection and Gift Aid. Model best practice and coach team member as required.

Leadership

· Line manage the Data Administrator, supporting them on reconciliation, data entry and gift processing.

· Provide management information for SMT and the Board of Trustees as requested and attending meetings when required.

· Build positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

· Represent the charity at external meetings as and when required.

· Engage with the wider charity sector, learning from peers and sharing best practice.

General Duties:

· Compliance with Homeless Oxfordshire’s policies and procedures.

· Contribute to a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are valued and staff are enabled to do their best.

· Contribute to the work of the broader team.

· Responsible for the effective use of financial and other resources.

The Patrons Manager will be responsible for both Individual and Corporate Patron relationships from prospecting to renewal, managing recruitment, stewardship and overseeing excellence in customer service via the Patrons Box Office. This is a strategic role, with responsibility for managing and growing the Patrons Scheme, ensuring members make the most of their Patron membership to achieve maximum renewal and upgrade rates.

About this role

Culture and creativity are essential to human flourishing, yet the financial models supporting them are in need of a serious reimagining. Public subsidy is declining in real terms, traditional philanthropy can't fill the gap, and commercial investment often doesn't align with how cultural and creative sector organisations work best.

Figurative exists to create a third way: impact investment that brings new capital to culture and creativity, while respecting what makes the sector special. But scaling a genuinely new funding model requires more than good intentions - it needs robust infrastructure, diversified capital sources, and deep credibility with the organisations we exist to serve.

Key Responsibilities

The Development Director will:

• lead our efforts to raise money into our own parent charity, from primarily new sources;
• support the CEO and investment team to raise investment capital (which may take the form of repayable grants) into our investment funds;
• lead our efforts to support organisations in the sector to raise philanthropic giving as a source of income for themselves, particularly focused around place (including the development of our existing Arts Council funded place-based philanthropy networks) and social impact (including our Big Give Arts for Impact match funding campaign);
• develop and implement our place-based strategy, which will aim to demonstrate the power of blended finance.

The Development Director will be a member of the senior leadership team and report directly to the CEO, working closely on strategy and communicating strategic priorities and progress to existing and potential grant funders (into Figurative) and investors (into our funds); whilst providing philanthropic expertise to cultural organisations and partners to optimise social impact and sector sustainability.

In this role, the successful candidate will have to be/demonstrate: 

• Strategic infrastructure builder: Proven track record designing and implementing fundraising/investor relations systems and processes in growth-stage organisations - not just using existing ones.
• Financial literacy: Comfortable with impact investment concepts, fund structures, and articulating risk/return/impact trade-offs to sophisticated investors. You can speak credibly to family offices and institutional investors, not just traditional arts funders.
• Cross-sector translator: Ability to articulate culture's value to investors whose primary focus is climate, social impact, or economic development. Fluency in making the case for why culture matters to non-arts audiences. Ability to build and manage partnerships across philanthropy, commercial creative industries, and the public sector, navigating complex stakeholder environments with diplomacy and credibility.
• Cultural sector credibility: Deep understanding of how arts organisations operate, their funding challenges, and why they might be sceptical of intermediaries. Genuine commitment to supporting sector sustainability, not extracting from it.
• Proposition development: Ability to craft compelling narratives for complex funding models. You can explain why impact investment in culture is different from traditional philanthropy and why it complements (rather than competes with) existing funding.
• Scale-up mentality: Comfortable moving from £30m to £100m+ - you understand what infrastructure and processes are needed at different stages of growth.

Role Summary

Our fast-growing team at ProVeg UK has ambitious targets for the coming years, and we need innovative, entrepreneurial thinkers to help us reach them for 2026 and beyond. 

The primary focus of this role is to establish and lead our UK mid-major level (HNWI) donor function alongside our Co-Executive Director. We have a successful track record with Trusts and Foundations (T&F) and are now looking to cultivate a diverse portfolio of funders who are accelerating the transition to a sustainable food system, tackling climate change, and ensuring the food we eat is good for all. You will be the architect of this new HNWI income stream - researching, qualifying, and securing transformational gifts from scratch.

While philanthropy experience is essential for this role, you will also collaborate with our Development Manager to oversee our established T&F portfolio. We are predominantly seeking strong philanthropy specialists and are happy to provide training on grant applications where needed.

This is a pivotal role for someone looking to lead on a high-impact fundraising strategy and help secure the vital resources needed for our continued success. 

You will be a champion for our mission, able to think creatively about how to attract interest across sectors and translate the impact of our work to speak to a range of audiences.

• Working hours: Part-time (28 hours per week over 4 days, i.e. 0.8 FTE)

Responsibilities

• Establish the HNWI Pipeline by leading the proactive research and identification of new UK-based major donors. You will manage the full prospect lifecycle, from cold outreach and initial "discovery" meetings to the final ask and bespoke stewardship.

• Conceptualise, launch, and manage a new donor circle (e.g., an 'Impact Club') to create a structured engagement programme for mid to high-level supporters alongside the Co-Executive Director.

• Co-develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy and set actionable annual and quarterly objectives.

• Plan, facilitate, and manage events, including the coordination and delivery of roundtable discussions or multi-participant meetings, ensuring effective engagement, smooth logistics, and clear outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential:

• You bring 3+ years of philanthropy/fundraising experience, ideally within an NGO or a related field.

• You possess demonstrable experience in identifying and opening doors to new HNWI prospects rather than just managing an inherited portfolio.

• You are a skilled verbal communicator with the ability to lead virtual and in-person meetings with gravitas, communicating ProVeg UKs work with donors and partners in inspiring, creative, and persuasive ways.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Manager, who will be responsible for all aspects of financial management and HR administration. You will be well organised, able to work on you own initiative and be experieced in writing clear and engaging reports tailored to a non-financial audience.

We are delighted to be working with St Margaret’s Hospice Care who support patients, families and carers across the majority of Somerset, providing specialist in-patient hospice care, an adviceline and community service.

St Margaret’s are now seeking an experienced and innovative Supporter Development Manager to lead the ‘Supporter Experience’ function, bringing fresh ideas and insight-driven strategies to enhance donor engagement. You will manage supporter journeys across all income streams, focus on retention and stewardship, recognise and thank donors appropriately, and ensure accurate data management, Gift Aid compliance, and adherence to fundraising policies.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will help drive the hospice’s five-year income generation strategy, maximising income through innovative, supporter-focused engagement. With one direct report and oversight of a further three team members, you will embed gold-standard stewardship across the directorate, use CRM insights to guide decisions, and support the growth of mid-level giving while ensuring consistently high-quality supporter experiences.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience delivering high-quality supporter care and stewardship strategies that retain donors, reduce attrition, and increase giving opportunities.
• Highly developed organisational and project management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Proven experience managing and delivering income-generating campaigns or appeals, including setting and managing budgets.
• Experience leading a high-performing team and supporting individuals to achieve their objectives.
• Demonstrable experience using CRM databases to analyse supporter data, with a strong understanding of accurate data capture, data governance, and using insight to enhance the supporter experience.
