About the role

We’re seeking an experienced interim CEO to lead the launch and early development of our newly independent charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). This is a rare chance to shape a start-up charity with an established record of fundraising success and strong community backing.

You’ll bring leadership, drive and credibility, and be comfortable working at pace to build solid foundations and shape strategy, operations and culture. Working closely with the Chair and Trustees, and leading a small team, you’ll ensure fundraising is sustained and grown, and that resources deliver tangible health and well-being improvements.

The Chartered College of Teaching is currently working on a number of exciting projects, and is looking for an EdTech Evidence Lead who will play a key role in the success of these projects. By joining our team as EdTech Evidence Lead, you’ll be helping us to support educators and EdTech companies to strengthen their use of evidence and build understanding around the effectiveness of EdTech products in schools and colleges.

The Opportunity

The EdTech Evidence Lead will play a key role in delivering one of our key projects, focusing on EdTech Evidence. Drawing on their experience and knowledge of EdTech, they will support EdTech companies and educators to build understanding about gathering and evaluating evidence for different EdTech products. They will develop guidance and materials to facilitate this, and work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to develop resources, systems and processes that aim to promote and recognise ‘high-quality’ evidence around EdTech. 

Main responsibilities include:

• Developing tools and resources to support individuals and organisations to engage with, and in, gathering and evaluating evidence around EdTech
• Developing guidance and training which helps EdTech companies plan and carry out evidence-gathering activities for their products and prepares them to submit evidence for formal review
• Contributing to the development and delivery of processes and systems for formally reviewing EdTech evidence
• Build relationships with EdTech companies and other key stakeholders to understand their use of evidence relating to EdTech and engage them with the project
• Liaising with a range of stakeholders to promote the use of EdTech evidence and seek input into the design and development of key project deliverables
• Representing the project externally to promote engagement with both the project, and with EdTech evidence generally
• Leading on the delivery of key project deliverables and monitoring progress towards these.

Spires supports homeless and vulnerably housed people in South London. Spires has undergone a period of rapid transformation, moving to a model of multi-site working across three London Boroughs. Our core services include, day centre style drop ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working.  
 
The Head of Fundraising and Communications will be joining the organisation at an exciting time. Recent successful funding outcomes provide a short period of relative funding stability and an opportunity for the post holder to develop our communications and community fundraising strategies.

Part 1:  Job profile 

 
1.1 Purpose of job 

To generate income from a diverse funding pool that includes trusts and foundations, legacy and individual giving, community giving, government contracts and corporate support. Trusts and foundations remain the primary funding source for Spires so maintaining consistent application output is a core element of the role.

Oversee Spires’ external relations and public profile. The post holder will be responsible for all communications and will look for areas to increase the organisations profile.

Work with Spires CEO and the Head of Client Services to ensure that data and outcomes are being effectively captured in a way that is helpful for evidencing impact.

1.2 Position in organisation 

The post holder joins Spires’ Senior Leadership Team and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The post holder will join the finance, fundraising and risk subcommittee which includes members of the board of trustees.

The post holder will manage the Communications and Community Engagement Lead who currently leads on community fundraising, social media and volunteer recruitment.

Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities 

2.1 Management Responsibilities 

• To manage the fundraising/communications staff and volunteers.

• Hold and record regular staff supervisions.

• Ensure that Spires’ policies are adhered to.

• Attend Spires’ managers meetings.

2.2 Income generation  

• Maximise existing and find new income to meet agreed income targets.

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service 

Location: The postholder will be an employee of The Spires Centre. This post is based at 2nd Floor, Elmfield House, 5 Stockwell Mews, SW9 9GX This role will by hybrid with three days in the office and two days from home.

Probation: This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.

Notice: This post is subject to an 12 weeks’ notice period once confirmed in post.

Job Title: Executive Administrator 

Location: Central Office which is based around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington Station. Hybrid working available, approximately 2 - 3 days per week in the office including every Tuesday. Additional office, service, and away days would be required for attendance.

Salary: 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. At times you may be required to work outside these hours, including for out of hours board meetings in the evenings, and other meetings which may be after hours.

• Validate and clean incoming data from local partners, identifying and flagging any errors or inconsistencies using tools such as Excel and Salesforce. 

• Conduct regular (weekly and monthly) checks on submitted data to ensure accuracy and assess progress against set targets. 

• Maintain and update all impact data, ensuring all records are accurate and complete. 

• Assist in testing and reviewing both new and existing data systems to ensure proper functionality, support the addition of new fields and adjustments as needed.

Job Purpose

The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the day to day running of the business. They will support the delivery of projects whilst working with Project Managers. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful post holder will have effective organisational skills and be able to plan/prioritise the delivery of work. They will have strong communications skills, both orally and in writing, and have the ability to establish working relations with a range of stakeholders.

The role also requires some degree of client and stakeholder facing, requiring a high level of inter-personal skills and personal confidence. Having a respectful and empathetic attitude will be essential, with the capacity to manage highly sensitive, complex and confidential information.

Key Result Areas/Duties

1. To be the first point of contact for the business daily.

2. Use and populate / edit data on CRM (Customer Relationship Management).

3. Produce meeting minutes and notes that summarise meeting content, including key topics, group decisions and ideas utilising a range of tools and resources including AI.

4. Utilise project management software to record and monitor project planning and project tasks and to keep project deliverables on task and escalate when required.

5. Preparation or finalisation, monitoring, and maintenance of the following documents/reports: project brief, project plan, communication briefings, risk register.

6. Liaise with the team to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects.

7. Support the procurement team in the management of tenders from social media marketing and logging/updating application to compiling supplier performance monitoring and reporting.

Person Specification

Essential

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and have GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A–C (or equivalent). They will be computer literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and will demonstrate accurate keyboard skills with strong attention to detail.

They will have experience working as part of a team as well as independently, and be confident in managing diaries and taking accurate minutes. They will be familiar with office systems and procedures, and possess a good standard of numeracy and literacy.

Candidates must have extensive experience using the internet and email systems, and have proven ability in organising meetings and disseminating information to stakeholders effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a professional and courteous telephone manner.

Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. They must be capable of working under pressure, solving problems, and responding to challenging situations with resilience and flexibility. We are happy to be supporting our client, a leading London university, in their search for a temporary Senior Programme Officer.

The Stories Officer sits in the Marketing and Communications team and will focus on:

· Manage and update our centralised database of case studies, celebrities, and influencers, ensuring all stories across the charity are recorded for effective stewardship. Maintain storyteller profiles, contact details, permissions, and consent forms while ensuring GDPR compliance in data collection and storage.

· Collaborate with PR, fundraising, digital, and campaigning teams to integrate storytelling into their work, identify their needs, and match case studies or celebrities to relevant projects.

Our client is an astounding group of professionals who believe that people’s sight matters. The prospect research officer will develop and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline in order to provide the philanthropy team with an appropriate number and quality of qualified prospects across individuals, corporate, and trusts and foundations. The officer will produce insightful background research on current and prospective donors using financial, biographical, corporate and philanthropic information from trusted sources and compliance with GPDR and data protection laws. Reporting to the prospect research manager, they will regularly review the prospect research strategy in response to changing internal requirements.

The selected candidate will have experience with and understanding of the principles of philanthropy, fundraising practices, donor motivations and wealth indicators and will have experience of conducting structure background research on HNWIs, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundation Boards. This person will also have experience of producing accurate overview research on donors and prospects and will have the ability to help manage systems to support prospect pipeline management.
