As our first Commercial Director, you'll have the autonomy to establish commercial capability from the ground up. Who We're Looking For
You're an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record of generating revenue through partnerships, training programmes, or business development. You might come from membership organisations, professional bodies, charities, education or healthcare settings, or from B2B commercial roles with clear transferable skills.
You have the entrepreneurial confidence to build something new, the strategic thinking to identify opportunities, and the relationship skills to turn those opportunities into sustainable partnerships. You're equally comfortable developing pricing models and financial projections as you are crafting compelling partnership proposals.
Most importantly, you understand that commercial success and charitable purpose aren't opposing forces – they're complementary. You want your commercial expertise to strengthen a charity's capacity to serve its members and achieve its mission.

About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Operations you will work alongside the Head of Experience Development, Head of Living Collections and Head of Learning to support sites to develop and deliver inspiring experiences for our visitors which connect them with our cause.
You will be the lead specialist advisor for interpretation and programming, and along with your team, play a critical role in supporting the development of excellent visitor experiences across all our sites, creating opportunities for people to experience nature in ways that inspire and move them and embedding nature connectedness in our programmed approach.
About You
We are seeking an individual with:
- Extensive experience in the development and delivery of events, visitor experiences and engagement in the natural environment, arts and culture or attractions sectors.
- Ability to think strategically and identify areas where experiences can support the delivery of organisational strategy.
- Experience of building partnerships with external creatives and organisations.
- Ability to lead, inspire and motivate teams, both in a direct and matrix management capacity.
- Strong experience of managing annual budgets and projects up to £500k

The Role
BASIC is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead our finance function during a period of sustained growth. The Financial Controller will work across Programme teams ensuring strong financial management and reporting to funding partners, maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with charity finance regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to our Directors and Board of Trustees.
The Financial Controller will oversee the small finance team, including line management of a Finance Assistant and management of an external bookkeeper consultant. This team will be responsible for the majority of financial accounting, processing payroll, and accurate bookkeeping, for which the Financial Controller will be ultimately accountable.
The role includes managing restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with funder requirements and programme needs, preparing statutory accounts for external audit, and overseeing payroll processing. This role reports directly to the Executive Director to prepare annual budgets and financial strategy, and works closely with the Board's Financial Development Committee to present its implementation.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills, experience in charity finance, and a proven track record of effective financial management of a growing organisation. You should be comfortable both managing a small team and working hands-on when needed, building collaborative relationships across the organisation. You will need to be a multitasker with the ability to work at pace, and be willing to develop the finance function and best practices to enable the organisation to grow further.

The Director of Fundraising will:

About the role
As Director of Finance and Resources and with an oversight of a £15m budget, we are looking for a strong, corporate business leader operating at a senior level to help take Cystic Fibrosis Trust forward on our exciting journey towards a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis and optimising our finance and resources to deliver maximum impact for people with cystic fibrosis.

To be the right person for this role, the requirements you will need to meet include:
- To be a qualified accountant (CCAB recognised or equivalent) with minimum five years post‑qualification experience and ongoing CPD.
- Successful experience in a business leadership role to operate at a Director/Board level and as a senior leadership team member.
- Experience of developing effective short and long term business and financial strategies.
- Managing complex budgets, financial modelling and projections.
- Experience of directing, leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams.

The BDFA, founded in 1998 is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. We’re looking for an individual who has some experience in fundraising, particularly leading on all aspects of community fundraising, developing and nurturing relationships with volunteer fundraising groups and individual supporters. The successful candidate will also work alongside our Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer to support our Trusts and Foundations income generation.

- Ability to contribute to the overall Trusts and Foundations income stream, including proactively researching and identifying grant funding opportunities
- Ability to lead on creative fundraising campaigns around key events such as Batten disease awareness day and Christmas
This job requires a motivated individual who has a passion for all those within our Batten community and a strong desire to support the development and financial growth of the BDFA. The role is full time (35 hours per week) and is home based with occasional travel around the UK to meet donors and support fundraising events.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).
