THE ROLE
This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity build its profile among national stakeholders while delivering projects that seek to bring an end to fuel poverty and to the misery of cold homes. The role will largely focus on working with the UK Government and local authorities to ensure that efforts to decarbonise homes are in the best interests of NEA’s client group.
You will have responsibility for the production of NEA’s responses to relevant consultations and the ability to produce and deliver briefings on current relevant policies for internal and external audiences. This will include responding to and influencing Government policy across key areas with a particular focus on our work to ensure that energy markets work in the interests of fuel poor households.
You will have a key responsibility for analysing relevant aspects of policy at a local, national and UK level – you will also represent and enhance the co-ordination of NEA’s stakeholder’s relationships and help us capture key insights and impacts from our practical work to ensure these are reflected in policy positions and our advocacy.
The post sits within the Policy and Advocacy Directorate and is part of a creative and caring team of professionals who bring a wide range of skills and expertise to this growing department.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.
It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.
You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
Knowledge of energy efficiency, particularly within the domestic sector and community buildings, is desirable.

- £33,931 to £38,594 (Points 23 – 28) (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.

Job Title: Support Mentor (Nights)

About the role
Our residents in this service have experienced long-term street homelessness and have faced significant challenges including with their mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency, and struggled to sustain engagement with support services. That's why they're here, to make a change and gain the support they need to enable greater independence and recovery.
As a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provides person centred support to our residents, you will work to ensure safety and wellbeing of our residents. You will support mainly the night shifts to ensure the service runs smoothly at night, being a point of contact for residents, engaging with them to ensure their safety comes first, and running various evening activities for engagement. You will build trusting and professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through one to one sessions, group sessions, and general wellbeing check ins. During quieter hours, you will be responsible for ensuring administration is up to date, the service is kept clean and tidy, and will support with additional ad hoc tasks.
About you
We're looking for someone who has a true passion for what we do as an organisation, and particularly in supporting those who have faced homelessness and may have other complex needs. Our residents needs are at the forefront of service delivery, so someone who can build trusting professional relationships is key. You will be adaptable, proactive, and able to use your initiative to resolve challenges, and keep the night service running smoothly. You will be able to work within a team, and have previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, putting their needs first for the team to be able to deliver support to their needs. What are we looking for:

We are looking for a newly qualified solicitor or someone in the process of qualifying as a solicitor to join our Public Law team. This is a full-time role for a fixed term period of 12 months. You will be assisting one of the partners based in the Bristol office. You do not have to be based in Bristol and can be based in our London office but should be willing to travel to the Bristol office.
The role will be to assist in immigration, nationality, asylum- founded public law challenges. These include:
- appeal and review proceedings in the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) including an ongoing §40 BNA deprivation appeal.
- judicial review claims: unlawful immigration detention which requires understanding of deportation under the Immigration Act 1971 and UK Borders Act 2007 including of those with EUSS leave; trafficking public order disqualification claims; other immigration-related judicial reviews requiring understanding/knowledge of the workings of the Refugee Convention; ECHR; ECAT; legislation: BNA 1948 and 1981; Immigration Acts 1971, 2014 and 2016; NIAA 2002; UKBA 2007; NABA 2002; IMA 2023; immigration rules and guidance, including the test for further submissions under paragraph 353
- compensation claims: false imprisonment claims in the County Court which requires knowledge of immigration enforcement law and practice under legislation, Government policy and common law; historic discrimination claims arising from dated discriminatory nationality laws; and Windrush claims.

As an IDVA you are responsible for carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing support and intervention to victim/survivors of domestic violence identified at Poplar jobcentre. In addition to this you will build relationships with, and provide advice, guidance and training to external professionals.
About You
You will need a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.
You will have the skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. You should have demonstrable experience of working in an IDVA or similar position with this or a similar client group.

About the role
Public Law Project (PLP) seeks an inspiring and experienced interim CEO - parental leave cover - to lead us through an exciting and pivotal period. With our new strategy launching in July 2025, we are looking for a collaborative and values-driven leader to turn vision into action, build our external profile, support a developing team, and drive sustainable funding growth. This is a critical 12-month appointment, offering the opportunity to lead one of the UK’s most respected legal charities through a period of dynamic transition.
You will guide PLP through a vital year of strategic delivery and internal consolidation. You’ll lead the rollout of our new strategy, embedding agility, accountability and purpose across the organisation, while strengthening our external profile through increased visibility and thought leadership. You’ll support a capable and committed senior team, many of them recently appointed, fostering cohesion, a strong team ethos and an inclusive, positive culture. You will also play a key role in fundraising, stewarding existing funders and identifying new opportunities to diversify and grow income.
Working closely with the Chair and Board, you’ll help ensure strong governance and deliver the stability and impact our mission requires. You’ll be supported by a values-led team and a forward-thinking board, united in their commitment to accountability, equity and justice.
What we are looking for
We’re seeking a senior leader with a proven record of translating strategic plans into operational delivery and measurable impact, leading and supporting teams through organisational growth or transition, and building strong external partnerships and raising organisational profile. You will have experience in supporting income generation and funder engagement, and of effectively working with trustees and senior stakeholders to ensure good governance and risk oversight.
A background in law or public law is not essential, but you must bring a clear appreciation of the issues and landscape in which we operate. Most importantly, you’ll bring a collaborative and empowering leadership style, a deep alignment with our values, and the ability to get the best from people during times of change.

We are delighted to be supporting a wonderful charity dedicated to improving the lives of unpaid carers. This fantastic organisation is looking for a temporary full-time (35 hrs per week) Adult Carers Support Worker to join their team and help make a real difference to carers across their borough. The role is running for 2-months in the first instance, based on-site 3-days per week in South London.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for adult carers and professionals, responding to enquiries and referrals in a fast-paced environment.
- Providing one-to-one support to carers, including home visits where appropriate, and helping them access relevant services.
- Collaboratively identifying goals with carers and developing tailored support plans.
- Promoting and supporting peer support groups, forums, and community activities.
- Maintaining accurate records of casework and assessments using the Charity Log system.
- Supporting the delivery of wider services including newsletters, events, and training sessions.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure a joined-up, effective service for all carers.
- Responding to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies.
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Experience working or volunteering in a health and/or social care setting.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload.
- A flexible, proactive approach and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Confidence using IT systems and databases.
- Knowledge of the issues affecting unpaid carers (personal or professional) is desirable.
