About the role 

The Marketing and Communications Manager is a brand-new role to the organisation.  This provides a great opportunity for the successful candidate to make the role their own as they support the organisation to reach and work with more centres in the formal and informal education landscapes. 

The role is ideal for someone looking to utilise the breadth of their marketing experience and build upon their team leadership competencies. They will be responsible for combining creativity with strategic thinking to develop and deliver campaigns and plans that create impact for both the organisation and the young people we support. 

Previous experience of developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns with real-world impact is particularly important to the role, along with a growth mindset and the ability to foster innovative ways of working.

The Marketing and Communications Manager role will be key as we drive towards our objective of being recognised as the trusted voice of leadership skill development for all young people and communities by 2033.

 Role purpose: 

• To develop and implement comprehensive content and marketing plans that proactively contribute to the organisation’s objectives. 

• To plan, execute and optimise marketing campaigns that support the realisation of the organisation’s new business and retention targets. 

• To create, coordinate and manage the distribution of content that supports the organisation’s reach, credibility and engagement. 

 Main duties and responsibilities 

• Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive content and marketing plans across various channels, including digital and traditional marketing. Support with the integration of these to wider communication planning and needs. Integrate key business intelligence and context provided by colleagues and teams into plans. 

• Campaign management: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimisation of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. 

• Content creation: Manage the creation and distribution of engaging marketing content, including website copy, blog posts, social media content, and marketing collateral. 

  Ensure all content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone, and adheres to the organisation’s house style writing guide. 

• Market research: Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify trends, customer insights, and competitor activities. 

• Performance analysis: Track, analyse, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, using data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation. 

• Budget coordination: Work with the Head of MarComms to support the management and monitoring of the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, providing analysis of return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities. 

• Team leadership: Supervise and mentor two marketing team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Drive the development of internal processes to increase efficiency, transparency and communication in the team. 

• Relationship management: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, agencies, and key stakeholders. 

 Skills, experience and knowledge 

 Required/essential: 

• Strategic thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective marketing plans and activities. (E)

Role Overview

You will lead key delivery areas of the marketing function, focusing on planning, running and evaluating effective, segmented email campaigns, creating compelling assets, building trust through social proof and coordinating our presence at events. This role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and designed to help accelerate our reach and engagement with schools, partners, and the wider education sector in both the short and longer term. Generating quality leads and nurturing to conversion is the objective. The ability to apply previous marketing experience with confidence at pace is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Email Campaign Management

• Design and implement segmented email marketing campaigns that generate leads and drive nurture, conversion and engagement

• Collaborate with the wider team on content planning and audience targeting to support both brand and programme recruitment campaigns

• Monitor and report on performance; continuously test and improve subject lines, content, and CTAs and improve MQL generation and quality

Social Proof & Case Study Development

• Identify and secure testimonials, quotes, and stories from partners and participants

• Create and manage a bank of social proof materials to support sales and marketing campaigns

• Collaborate with delivery and research teams to gather impactful data and insights
   

Event Marketing

• Plan and coordinate TDT’s presence at national and regional events

• Manage pre-event promotion and post-event follow-up to support lead generation

• Coordinate logistics and event materials in collaboration with relevant colleagues
   

Campaign & Asset Development

• Lead the creation of on-brand marketing assets (e.g. brochures, presentations, case studies, leaflets, reports)

• Work with internal and external content creators to maintain high visual and editorial standards

• Ensure consistent brand tone and alignment across all materials
   

Collaboration & Coordination

• Work closely with the Director of Partnerships & Impact and other colleagues to ensure alignment with strategic goals

• Coordinate effectively with colleagues in Partnerships & Impact Team, Design & Delivery Team, and Operations Team to ensure a seamless customer journey

• Support the School Engagement Manager and Marketing and Recruitment Officer with content and campaign execution, including back up support for wordpress and social media

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a marketing or communications role, ideally within a purpose-led or education-focused organisation, is essential

• Strong content and asset creation skills, confident briefing designers and writers as needed

• Experience co-ordinating, planning and running multi-touch, concurrent email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp, HubSpot, GMass or similar)

• Excellent organisational and project management skills; comfortable juggling multiple deadlines

• Ability to build relationships across teams and with external partners

• Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of projects from start to finish

About the opportunity
This is a wonderful opportunity for a selection expert to join the Supporter Selections Team at Alzheimer’s Society in what is a really exciting time for both the charity and the team. You will be joining the team as we further develop our selections by using insight, both in and post-campaign, plus develop highly relevant and individualised supporter experiences to drive our communications and improve supporter journeys. As a Customer Selections Analyst, you will be responsible for working with teams from across Income & Engagement to ensure the successful delivery of accurate and targeted selections to support warm marketing activity and stewardship, plus the design and production of multi-stage supporter journeys through the use of PeopleStage, our campaign planning and management tool.  Your proficiency in managing and prioritising tasks will be invaluable in delivering selections on our agreed Communications Plan, and you will be pivotal in enabling our organisation to communicate with the right supporters, through the right channel, at the right time, in the right way, through the systems and tools available to you.
As a trusted expert and a critical friend to Income & Engagement colleagues and stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in deepening understanding of Alzheimer’s Society’s supporters, particularly concerning their next best action. AI & Automation Integration

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Partner with in-house creatives, agencies, and freelance teams to execute campaigns with precision.

About the role

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Officer with paid advertising and organic social media experience to join our Digital team.

As Digital Marketing Officer, you’ll be responsible for creating email marketing campaigns, running paid advertising activity and creating content across organic social channels to help teams across the organisation hit their objectives. You’ll be joining our friendly and expert Digital Engagement Team. 

You’ll have previous experience managing email and paid marketing campaigns, creating content for social channels and using digital platforms including Meta Business Manager, Email Service Providers and GA4. 

You will champion the voices of children and young people with cancer, and their families in everything you do.

What will I be doing?

Email responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end email campaigns including briefing, copywriting, creation in Dotdigital, send and evaluation 

Paid responsibilities 

• Deliver paid digital marketing campaigns in-house including running virtual challenge ads in Meta – working with the Product Lead to design the campaign plan, draft the copy, build in-platform, optimise and evaluate 
• Assist with paid advertising campaigns run by our digital media agency, ensuring they have clear briefs, assets are provided on-time and campaigns are delivered to plan

General Digital Marketing responsibilities

• Be part of the team’s social media monitoring rota and moderate our social channels - ensuring comments are appropriately handled in line with the social media policy
• Create and schedule content across organic social channels to support key campaigns 
• Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns reporting on KPIs and metrics using digital marketing tools including GA4, Lookerstudio, Meta Business Manager, Google Ads and Bing Ads in-platform reporting
