The Role
As Senior Communications Officer, you will:

Develop and deliver SHA’s annual communications and media strategy.

About You
We are looking for a creative, strategic, and highly skilled communicator who can combine leadership with hands-on delivery.
Essential Requirements:

Degree in communications, marketing, media, or relevant equivalent experience.

Proven track record in communications and marketing (5+ years preferred).

Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into compelling messages.

Hours of work
- Your normal hours of work will between 9am and 5pm (35 hours per week). Some flexibility of working hours may be required in accordance with the needs of the charity.
- There is flexibility around working location either home-working or office based (Wandsworth). Home workers will be asked to work from the office at least one day per week.
- Some flexibility in working hours may be negotiated to enable a better work/life balance or meet particular needs as required.
Probation
There will be a six-month probation period.
Notice Period
Two calendar months on either side, after a satisfactory six-month probationary period. During probation, notice will be one week either side.

- The office is fully wheelchair accessible, including toilet.
Staff Benefits
Holiday
You are entitled to 22 days paid holiday per year plus bank and public holidays. This increases by one day per year up to a maximum of 25 days.
Additionally, the office is closed between the Christmas and the New Year period giving an additional 3 days.
Pension
The charity has a designated stakeholder pension scheme that staff can join, with a staff contribution of 5% salary, Back Up will contribute 3% into this scheme.
The charity's contribution will increase by a 1% for every 2 years of service (cap at 6%).

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide excellent support to the Head of Operations and CEO having full regard to the charity’s objectives and priorities at all times, meeting or exceeding the Charities legal, ethical and moral standards. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

xvii. To have flexibility to work additional hours for holiday and sickness cover when directed. This will include IT support and support within the operational department when necessary

As a member of the Church and Community Building Squad, you would be responsible for the delivery of fundraising resources and church engagement materials, to show our supporting churches the impact of their support and give them the opportunity to become even more engaged in Tearfund's mission.
Do you have a passion for encouraging the UK church to engage with global justice? Do you have experience in delivering multi-channel giving and supporter engagement campaigns? We are also especially keen to hear from those who are experienced in both print and digital direct marketing.

- Planning and delivering multi-channel supporter engagement campaigns to a range of audiences
- Producing direct marketing materials for church engagement
- Project managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Monitoring and evaluating campaigns, with a test and learn mentality
- Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including creative agencies

Hybrid Working: This role offers hybrid working. You'll work from Tearfund's Teddington office and from home, as agreed with your line manager.

What you’ll do
Reporting directly to our CEO, you will lead the Charities Team – overseeing directors across fundraising, marketing, funding & impact, strategy and innovation, and business and play a key role on the Foundation’s Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Challenge Events
o Act as main contact with events management companies to coordinate our programme
o Encourage, support and monitor participants on their fundraising journey
o Manage production and distribution of event merchandise

o Promptly coordinate all donor correspondence such as acknowledgements, thank-yous, certificates and ‘good luck’ messages
