This is an exciting opportunity to join the Office of Development and Alumni Relations team at the University of Southampton, creating and delivering a range of strategic communications for our alumni and supporter community.
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering a whole plethora of communication tools to support our fundraising and engagement, with a particular focus on our upcoming Campaign for Southampton. Due to launch in 2027, this will be our biggest fundraising campaign ever, with a target of £100m. One of our key fundraising focusses will be the Institute for Medical Innovation; we will raise £50m to build this groundbreaking facility, which will address the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges through interdisciplinary research. We are looking for an experienced communications professional to support us with creating engaging communications. You will be responsible for activities such as:
- Developing compelling propositions
- Delivering the communications to support major gift prospect fundraising events, from creating invitations and shaping the themes, through to developing event materials and briefing speakers
- Creating and editing a wide range of communications pieces for our major gift prospect audience, from written case studies through to web content and video
- Managing the development and execution of new creative for the Campaign for Southampton
- Sourcing new stories and gathering information through interviews and desk research
- Supporting the team where needed on both fundraising and alumni engagement communications
This is a part-time role, working four days a week (but will consider 3.5 days), on a fixed-term contract for 24 months. Like many organisations we’re currently working hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. There is the opportunity to work more days in the office as desired. The successful applicant should be available to work on campus as and when there is a requirement.

About you

Your purpose
To manage and optimise Voice 21’s marketing activity across campaigns, data, and digital channels, ensuring a seamless experience from first engagement through to conversion. The Marketing Lead will be the technical lead on our HubSpot CRM, drive inbound activity, strengthen the buyer’s journey, and ensure our brand and messaging support long-term impact.
Your responsibilities

Manage and optimise marketing campaigns, data, and workflows in HubSpot

Build and maintain landing pages and web content aligned with campaign goals

Partner with Sales to develop and execute data-informed marketing plans targeting schools across England

Design and refine the buyer’s journey to maximise engagement and conversion from Lead to Opportunity

Deliver marketing automation workflows and lead nurturing activity to improve pipeline conversion
-
Produce and oversee high-quality, evidence-led digital content (emails, blogs, webinars, e-books)

Collaborate with Communications, Events, and Engagement teams to strengthen reach and alignment

Track and analyse funnel performance using HubSpot analytics and integrated data sources

Maintain and improve HubSpot data integrity, segmentation, and reporting accuracy

Lead UX-driven website design and optimisation using Figma and HubSpot CMS

Delivered a series of targeted marketing campaigns supporting our growth objectives

As part of our Operations Directorate, you’ll work in the Growth team with our Head of Growth and Senior Business Development Lead

Where you’ll work: Remote, with regular regional and national travel to visit schools and attend Development Days/meetings, including some overnight stays.

Role Overview
As the Social Media Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing 20/20 Levels’ digital presence by creating, managing, and growing our social media platforms. You will be responsible for creating engaging content, designing visually appealing assets, scheduling posts, analysing performance metrics, and interacting with our online community. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about using digital media to drive engagement and brand awareness.
This role reports directly to the Marketing & Communications Lead and works closely with programme teams to amplify their work.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
● Manage the 20/20 Level’s social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube), including content creation, scheduling (using programs like Later), and engagement.
● Create compelling written, visual, and video content that aligns with 20/20 Levels' mission and brand, including graphics, reels, captions, and TikTok posts.
● Monitor social media channels for trends, conversations, and mentions related to our industry and brand.
● Design materials for internal communications, including newsletters, announcements and marketing materials and team updates
● Assist in maintaining a content library, organising media assets, and archiving materials for future use.
● Collaborate with our Marketing and Communications Lead to brainstorm and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and promotions.
Community Engagement
● Engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner
● Foster meaningful conversations and positive online interactions to strengthen audience relationships
● Collaborate with internal teams to showcase program updates, success stories, and upcoming initiatives
Performance Tracking & Strategy
● Monitor trends and insights to optimise content strategy and maximise visibility and engagement
● Track, analyse, and report on social media performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
● Assist in running social media campaigns and influencer partnerships
● Stay up to date with the latest digital trends and best practices to keep our content fresh and relevant
Qualifications & Skills
● Previous experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation (internships or personal projects welcomed)
● Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their best practices
● Excellent written and visual storytelling skills
● Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain performance metrics and communicate ideas clearly and quickly.
● Graphic design and video editing skills (knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, Indesign & Illustrator)
● Ability to analyse metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
