About the role

This is a remote-first role open to candidates anywhere in the UK. You’ll join us in our Woking office just once a month for team collaboration days.

We are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to join our small, busy fundraising team. You will:

• proactively nurture and grow our relationships with existing supporters
• develop relationships with new trusts and foundations, taking pride in excellent donor stewardship,
• create compelling funding applications, reports and communications which demonstrate our impact
• raise restricted and unrestricted money for our grant giving service and for enhancements to our care homes and day care services, which improve the lives of the older people.

Key objectives and responsibilities

• Be primarily responsible for researching and writing, prioritising, developing and submitting compelling proposals, updates and reports to trust donors.
• Maximise income by building and maintaining relationships with existing portfolio of trust donors through excellent relationship management.
• Use the database (Access Charity CRM) to maintain accurate and detailed records, manage relationships, and coordinate actions and deadlines.
• Research and identify new opportunities, and write and submit high quality, targeted proposals to secure support from new and lapsed funders.
• Prepare written reports on activities, progress and income against objectives.
• Ensure the impact of our work is clear, visible and effectively communicated in our social media, on our website and in our Impact Report.
• Liaise with internal staff to compile project information for funding applications, and build positive, professional relationships internally and externally.

The Opportunity

This role at WFN provides an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of our growing Winner Network Development (WND) programme, identified as one of the charity’s key areas for strategic growth and maximised impact over the coming years. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing communicator who is passionate about conservation and can drive forward and create connections between our global network of over 220 conservationists, fostering knowledge exchange, capacity development and collaboration. As part of this programme the Grants and Network Manager (GNM) will help with delivery of annual thematic training workshops, with opportunity for international travel. The GNM will also assist our Head of Grants (HG) in monitoring our portfolio of active grants, with support from the Grants Assistant (GA). The GNM will also participate in the Whitley Awards application process by helping to screen the grant applications and supporting with due diligence. GRANTS AND NETWORK MANAGER - PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

· MSc or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Conservation/ Zoology/ Environmental Science)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Variety is looking for a PR and Communications Manager to join our growing team and take responsibility for our communications strategy to support fundraising, programmes and brand activities. It is an exciting time to join the charity as we have laid the groundwork over the last year to improve our marketing and communication channels and have ambitious plans to double our charity size, to fund life-changing practical support for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

We have a new Director of Fundraising and Communications in place who you will work closely alongside, and your work will be across three areas: content creation including the website, PR and social media. Key to success is putting children’s stories at the heart of our communication and you will need to work independently, guiding the Social Media Officer and freelancers, playing a key role in our collaborative and high-performing team.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Content creation – identify and gather beneficiary stories and create compelling content for Variety’s communication channels  

•PR – develop a network of supportive media contacts and partners to effectively promote our work and proactively target journalists, writing and delivering press releases as needed

•Social media – oversee the social media calendar and have responsibility for the social content and channels. Have managerial responsibility for the Social Media Officer, ensuring content is planned in and comments are monitored with occasional weekend cover

•Interview beneficiaries of Variety, meeting family members, working with external agents (photographers, filmmakers) as necessary to give beneficiaries the best experience while gathering the most relevant information for story telling

•Produce stories with the Director of Fundraising and Communications in the best formats, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility

•Ensure consent is obtained at every stage of content gathering and materials are stored securely in line with GDPR legislation and Variety’s privacy policy

•Monitor and analyse our channels to identify trends and areas to improve

The Events & Fundraising Manager will work at the heart of our public events programme, helping to organise fundraising walks and other events across London and the South East, and raising funds to support the provision of free legal advice. Job Purpose

· To help make SFM the destination for media as the voice for food in schools

Role Title: External Communications and Advocacy Lead

This is a rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity, establishing Shine as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.

As Senior National Public Affairs Manager, you’ll take the lead in building relationships with key stakeholders in the UK Parliament and Government. This is a high-impact role, designed to influence national policy and improve support for people living with terminal illness.

You’ll shape and deliver external engagement strategies, work on national campaigns, and ensure that Marie Curie’s research and insight are central to conversations about end-of-life care. You’ll also contribute to our internal policy development and play a key role in shaping how our work is communicated publicly.

The post holder will be part of the Policy and Public Affairs, England team and will also work closely with colleagues in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and with colleagues across the charity. This is a maternity cover post and a fantastic opportunity to drive change from the heart of the UK policy landscape

Main Responsibilities: 

• Lead engagement with national policymakers and parliamentary stakeholders.
• Design and deliver impactful events, campaigns and policy initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider charity, devolved nations and our sector partners charity to align public affairs strategies.
• Work with Marie Curie-funded researchers to ensure evidence drives policy influence.
• Represent the charity at external meetings, briefings and events.
• Line-manage officer-level team members, ensuring high performance and development.
• Champion end-of-life care issues through social media and public communications.

Key Criteria:

• Strong experience in lobbying or public affairs, with a proven record of policy influence.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to varied audiences.
• Deep understanding of the UK Parliament and Government structures.
• Experience of developing and maintaining senior-level relationships.
• Political judgement, campaign experience, and the ability to manage complex projects.
• Knowledge of health, palliative care or social justice issues in the UK.
• Ability to analyse complex data and translate it into impactful messaging.
• Prior experience in healthcare or palliative care policy and advocacy is considered an asset.

About Get Further

We are Olive Branch Aid (OBA), an award-winning Foodbank charity operating in south London, and we are looking for a dynamic and confident Foodbank Manager to work alongside our newly appointed Foodbank Coordinator as well as an energetic team of more than 60 volunteers. 

We have achieved so much but we have ambitions to do so much more! 

Since beginning 5 years ago, OBA now provides food support for a day for the equivalent of 70,000 people a year. In 2024 we packaged and delivered more than 9 tonnes of food for those needing our services. Check out our website to read more about our journey.

OBA is different

OBA provides a hand-up rather than a hand-out. More than a Foodbank, OBA provides support for 3 months - much longer than most Foodbanks. We also provide an innovative well-being support service that helps service users address the underlying causes of their food needs. In 2024, OBA helped more than 75 households with complex underlying issues, this involved many weeks of telephone calls and meetings and helped prevent at least five families from becoming homeless. OBA also provides free preloved clothing and household goods to help service users get back on their feet.

Since 2023, OBA has its own fully funded premises off Portslade Road next to the Windrush overground station. Despite these successes, we continue to rely entirely on donations for our day to day expenses. As Foodbank Manager, you will help us secure the funding to grow our services and help even more people.
