Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. About the role
MAP is looking for a professional institutional funding manager with vast experience in securing bilateral and multilateral grant and a track record of achieving income targets. As the Head of Institutional Funding, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and execution of MAP's institutional funding strategy. Your responsibilities will include establishing and nurturing relationships with key institutional donors such as UN agencies, FCDO, SIDA, and Irish Aid, as well as crafting compelling project proposals and ensuring compliance with all contractual and reporting requirements.
 

Abou you

You will have extensive experience in securing grants from institutional donors, particularly in emergency response, relief, and rehabilitation projects. You will demonstrate a track record of success in developing institutional donor funding strategies and managing funded projects, along with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Most importantly, you should share MAP's deep commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of Palestinians.

As Grants and Outreach Officer, you will play a key role in driving Electrical Safety First’s mission to reduce deaths, injuries, and accidents caused by electricity, particularly for the most vulnerable in society.

You will help manage the Charity’s grant scheme programme, which distributes £1,000,000 annually to fund community-based initiatives that raise awareness of electrical safety and reduce risks for those who face the most danger. Through this, you will help empower local organisations to create tangible change in their communities.

In addition to helping administer the grant scheme, you’ll support the Charity’s outreach initiatives, working closely with the Senior Grants and Outreach Officer to identify opportunities to expand the charity’s reach and partnerships. 

The charity’s outreach work goes beyond working with grant partners to maximise impact. Role purpose

The Head of Finance is a key member of the Charity’s senior management team, working closely with the chief executive, directors, and trustees. The head of finance will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the Charity, including budgeting, reporting, audit, payroll, and pensions. Managing the finance manager and management accountant, the Head of Finance will ensure the effective running of the finance department and smooth day-to-day processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be a key advisor on strategic financial decisions, balancing meticulous operational control with strategic planning.

As the Head of Finance, you will:

• Proactively contribute to the development and delivery of the Charity’s strategy through developing long-term financial planning to underpin our objectives.
• Act as senior finance business partner to the senior leadership team, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
• Lead on the annual audit and production of statutory accounts, ensuring effective management of the audit process.

Main responsibilities

Financial controls, reporting, and operational finance

• Lead the finance function of the Charity, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial management and reporting.
• Ensure that appropriately robust internal financial and operational controls are in place.
• Ensure that our unrestricted and restricted funds and accounting records are maintained in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practice.

Person specification

Knowledge and experience

We are looking for candidates with demonstrable strategic financial leadership spanning organisational planning, budgeting, risk, and reporting. You will have:

• You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, OR CIMA)
• Excellent knowledge of charity financial management, SORP, and audit is essential.
• Experience of effective budget setting and implementing controls and processes to manage and monitoring budgets
• Firm understanding of risk management

ABOUT THE ROLE

 Variety is looking for a Trusts and Foundations Executive to join our Fundraising and Marketing Team. Reporting to the Trusts and Foundations Manager, the role will be vital in growing our income to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

You will be responsible for building and sustaining Variety’s growth across our Trust and Foundations portfolio by expanding our low and mid-sized supporters. You will pro-actively approach, secure and steward a pipeline of Trusts and Foundations (ranging from £500 to £20,000) and support the Trusts and Foundations Manager on larger applications and impact reporting.

You will be working with a supportive and knowledgeable team who regularly work from our office in the heart of Camden, London. This role will also require a DBS check.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Income generation

·Managing relationships with existing funders to secure repeat funding.

·Preparing and submitting high-quality funding applications for varied projects.

·Independently managing a well-developed pipeline of prospective funders.

·Leading on delivering small Trust mailings throughout the year.

Prospect Research

·Proactively researching and evaluating potential grant funders using funding databases.

·Identifying and aligning potential fundraising opportunities to our projects.

·Directly building relationships with potential funders via telephone and email.

·Keeping accurate records of trust prospects on our CRM, Salesforce.

Stewardship

·Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders to secure grants and increase capacity to donate.

·Delivering exceptional stewardship through timely, personalised and highly creative top-quality tailored reports for our restricted grants programmes.

·Working closely with programmes team to gather insight, data and evidence to fulfil reporting requirements for projects funded by Trusts and Foundations.

Administration & Management

·Ensuring that donations are accurately coded and acknowledged in a timely manner.

·Monitoring income performance against agreed targets. This will include pro-actively updating the Trust and Foundations Manager on progress, risks or emerging income generation opportunities.

·Assisting with the creation of fundraising templates for our various projects using our marketing templates.

·Updating salesforce and maintaining accurate records and donor information in our CRM systems.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

 Essential

· Experience working within a fundraising team at a charity.

· Experience engaging with supporters across the cultivation cycle. For example, researching potential donors, engaging with or stewarding them.

· Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and confidently in-person and on the telephone.

· Strong creative writing skills, with experience gathering and simplifying complex information into accessible content.

· Excellent IT proficiency skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across Scotland. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.  
 
The successful candidate will also lead on support for young people living with Duchenne during 2 key transition points (primary to secondary school stage and moving into adulthood). 2. Transitions Support 

· Lead transition support across all nations, with a focus on Scotland, for children and young people facing key life changes, including: 

· Moving between educational settings such as primary to secondary 

· Transitioning from paediatric to adult health services 

· Changes in mobility and independence (e.g. transitioning to using powerchairs)

· You will lead, but expected to work collaboratively with the England-based Transition Coordinator to ensure consistency and continuity of support across the UK 

· Develop resources, guidance, and workshops to support families through transitions 

3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement 

· Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security) 

· Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress 

· Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call. 

4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery 

· Organise and deliver regional meetups (minimum one per quarter) 

· Facilitate support groups (virtual and in-person) for parents, young people, and extended family 

· Support delivery of workshops and events aligned with programme schedule (e.g. music, life skills, employability) 

5. Stakeholder Collaboration 

· Liaise with external organisations including NHS care advisors and clinics, local authorities, counselling services, and other charities 

· Represent Action Duchenne in Scotland and build relationships with local networks 

6. Administration and Reporting 

· Maintain accurate records of all interactions and support provided 

· Contribute to quarterly reporting on activity delivery, capacity utilisation, and family impact 

· Support development of CRM processes and service delivery improvements

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Support Officer with proven administrative and IT skills to join our busy Volunteer Support team based at our National Support Centre.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the smooth and safe onboarding of adult volunteers within Sea Cadets. As a key member of the Volunteer Support Team, you will ensure that all administrative processes are completed. You will act as a first point of contact for volunteer enquiries, maintain high quality records throughout volunteers’ membership, maintaining MSSC’s commitment to safer recruitment and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the processing of adult volunteer applications to join Sea Cadets, ensuring all personnel records are accurately updated on the CRM system.
• Review and approve volunteer references in line with MSSC’s Safer Recruitment Policy.
• Administer the enhanced disclosure process, acting as an MSSC counter-signatory.
• Process grants and claims relating to volunteer uniform allowances.
• Review and submit applications for UKSV Security Clearances and MOD 90 ID Cards.
• Respond to all Volunteer Support enquiries received by MSSC via email, post, and phone.

Requirements

• Experience working in a customer‑focused role, handling a wide range of enquiries by phone and email, including challenging conversations.
• Excellent IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

The role

This is a senior, externally facing post reporting to the Chief Executive. What you'll be doing

• Guiding community groups through all stages of the housing development process — from vision and site identification through to planning, funding, and scheme delivery
• Advising on site selection, RP partnerships, planning applications, S106 agreements, and funding strategies (both capital and revenue)
• Building and managing relationships with a wide range of partners — communities, RPs, local authorities, planners, developers, and agents

 We are seeking an experienced Manager of Philanthropic Giving with a strong track record in securing major gifts. The ideal candidate will excel at building trusted, long-term relationships with donors and feel confident leading conversations that result in significant philanthropic support. This is a strategic and hands-on role with real impact for people affected by myasthenia.

The Manager of Philanthropic Giving will be predominantly home based within the UK (with occasional working and meetings at Derby HQ) and will work in co-operation with the fundraising team and all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising targets and campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required to attend donor meetings, events and networking opportunities, as well as the ability to travel to the Derby office. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

You will have experience in personal communication in asking for high level funds, and experience of stewarding high net worth individuals to maintain high levels of engagement over a significant period. You will have experience of Trusts and Foundations fundraising including pipeline management and stewardship, writing compelling funding applications and impact reports.

You will be a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal, research and organisational skills, confident managing a complex pipeline and working collaboratively across teams. Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor.

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions.
