Job information:

We are looking for someone with impressive programme management and change management experience, who can lead through others. Someone who is both attentive to detail, and an expert communicator. 

You will lead a team of four experts in project and event management, who support clinicians and specialist advisors to deliver truly impactful programmes, projects and networks, with and for the hospice sector. 

You’ll shape our approach to programme management across the team, developing and embedding ways of working that give our work consistency, quality and meaningful results. 

You will also spearhead the delivery of two new, vital programmes of work - supporting the wellbeing and professional development of the hospice workforce, and improving access to quality hospice care for people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage.

Perhaps you’re working in the charity and/or healthcare sector already, or you might bring senior programme management experience from other fields. 

Either way, you’ll become part of a close, 17-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.

Ovacome Support Services Officer, reporting to the Programmes Manager.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting those affected by ovarian cancer through a people-centred approach. You must be experienced in providing support services, well-organised and approachable. You will be an important member of our staff team.

Pay scale: £28,500 – £33,000 per year (full time), pro-rata if part time. All our salaries our benchmarked based on the requirements of the Role Description and comparable roles in the charity sector. Salaries are subject to an annual review; we also award an annual cost of living increase.

Hours: 21 hours (part time) to 35 hours (full time) per week, with flexibility around core operational hours. We offer flexible hours to accommodate caring responsibilities. Core hours of work are between 8.30am to 5.30pm. Wednesday is a core working day.

· Home-based with an appropriate working space where confidentiality can be assured. Able to attend monthly meetings in London and travel for work. Lives within the UK.

You will contribute to the Ovacome information resources and work with other members of the Ovacome to produce content that is of interest to our community.

You will work with the support team to identify common questions and themes from our service users so that we can proactively meet the needs of the wider community.

The Manna Day Centre is a drop-in Centre for homeless and vulnerably housed single men and women. It is run by a team of project workers, under the Director, who are responsible for its smooth operation. Basic Services offered include food, showers, clothing, housing & welfare advice, medical care, and access to laptops. The Centre opens to service users 7 days a week, 8.30am– 1.30pm. The working week for this post is Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm each day.

Housing & Welfare Advice Workers must have a commitment to homeless people, which includes acceptance and respect. Responsibilities are shared among the team according to needs, skills and aptitudes. The annual salary is negotiable (depending on your experience) ranging from £31,746 to £36,678. Benefits include a pension scheme, travel loans and 25 days annual leave (plus time in lieu of bank holidays worked).

About the role

The health information team produced high quality, accessible health and patient information for people affected by breast cancer or worried about their breast health. Our printed information is used by healthcare professionals across the UK, and our online information includes over 200 webpages.

The health content editor plays a pivotal role in the creation and reviewing of our information portfolio. We’re looking for an organised and collaborative individual to project manage and edit individual information products, working alongside our team of subject matter experts.

About you

You’re a clear communicator with the ability to break down complex medical information for a lay audience. You have excellent attention to detail and are committed to making health information accessible and accurate. You’ll be an experienced editor looking to put your skills and knowledge into practice. You’re someone who is used to juggling an array of projects and can manage and prioritise them.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is primarily based in our London office. Our hybrid working model allows you to work up to 3 days per week at home.
