Role Overview: 

The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. This varied role offers the opportunity to expand market reach with our current services, as well as helping launch new products into existing and untapped markets, while delivering a strong RoI. 

As well as being a commercial and strategic leader you will need to be a hands-on problem solver, ready to roll your sleeves up to support a small team to deliver where needed. You will be pivotal in ensuring we achieve our mission and deliver impact for post-16 students.  

You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Generation Officer who leads the revenue team, comprising of digital marketing and content specialists as well as membership support staff.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Membership engagement and growth: Developing and executing strategic marketing and sales strategies to drive member engagement, growth and retention with our flagship membership and subscription services.  
• Brand positioning and visibility: Ensuring we have a powerful brand that punches above its weight to increase market share, drive competitive advantage and to position the organisation as a thought leader within the sector.
• Marketing analysis and segmentation: Conducting market analysis/research within existing and untapped markets to uncover insights to segment audiences and tailor marketing messaging and activities effectively to drive conversions. 
• Digital marketing: Overseeing digital marketing strategies, including website optimisation, email marketing, search marketing and social media marketing to drive traffic and conversion across the funnel stages.   
• Content and creativity: Oversea content strategy and creation across various formats and channels, ensuring innovation and creativity to stand out in a crowded market. 
• Data-driven decision making: Using analytics to test strategies, measure results and generate insights in order to iterate and improve performance, tracking key metrics and leading the team to deliver and report against agreed KPIs.  
• Budgeting and resource management: Tracking spend, ensuring cost effective allocation of resources and reporting on RoI.  
• Leadership and collaboration: Leading and mentoring the team to perform against growth and revenue targets as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a unified approach.

• Extensive experience in a similarly commercial marketing and sales role with a proven track record in driving revenue growth.

Trust Fundraising Lead

The Brendoncare Foundation is seeking an experienced Trust Fundraising Lead to join our dedicated and growing fundraising team. The role will lead on the development of our trust fundraising strategy, from development of the Case for Support, through to donor stewardship, application writing and submission.

Our fundraising programme is a vital support for our vision of transforming the culture of ageing.

The day-to-day of this role will include working with our delivery teams to devise projects for funding, ensuring you have the information required to make this a success. You will hold relationships with key trust donors, organising meetings pre application and building relationships with new donors to improve success rates.

Applications will include specified and restricted projects, general unrestricted funding and capital projects as required. This role will lead on all applications below £25,000 per year and support the Head of Fundraising with applications larger than this.

What will I be doing?

Strategy, research and prospect development

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Trust Fundraising strategy, aligned with the financial targets and goals set by the organisation.
• Research and develop a large trust pipeline including warm and cold donors

Case for Support and application writing

• Draft specific applications from the case for support to meet donor requirements, ensuring applications are engaging, detailed and accurate
• Lead on collating data for the need of our services, pulling together research and working with delivery teams to collate impact data
• Working against specific KPIs for application submissions and income targets, reporting to Head of Fundraising against these monthly

Reporting

• Lead on the writing of reports to Trusts from which we have received funding
• Lead on engaging with the Trust after having received funding to keep them warm to future applications

Relationships

• Work collaboratively with the fundraising team, Trustees, care homes and community / club services team, staff and the central office team.
• Create and maintain effective relationships with external contacts to include prospective donors, community groups, volunteers and supporters.
• Support the wider work of the fundraising team where required, including at occasional evening and weekend events.

Maintain records of all donor and prospect relationships on our CRM system.

• Maintain high standards of donor care and stewardship.
• Keep abreast of fundraising activity and trends across the charity community, corporate and events sector.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Brendoncare’s work, in order to develop a compelling case for support for a range of projects and initiatives.

Corporate Responsibilities

• Promote Brendoncare’s charitable ethos, act as an ambassador for our services and support fundraising initiatives to maximise voluntary income for our charity.

What do I need to have to apply?

 Essential requirements

• Demonstrable experience of achieving income targets through trust and grants fundraising through submission of high-quality applications and effective donor stewardship.
• Minimum of 2 years in a grant writing role
• Successful 5 figure multi-year applications
• Experience of working in a target driven environment, ideally within a fundraising team
• Experience of using IT software including Microsoft Office and a fundraising Customer Relationships Management Tool
• Excellent and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to network at all levels.
• Able to use own initiative to work autonomously and also to work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to identify opportunities to benefit Brendoncare.

The post holder will be responsible for providing a seamless experience for members wanting to join the ESU or for those renewing their membership. The Membership and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing relationships with members and branch chairs, finding ways to involve members in the work of the ESU and maintaining oversight of the organisation’s CRM. We are looking for a Fundraising Officer to lead the administration of CCT’s tiered membership programmes, annual and church-based appeals, legacies, and fundraising events. The Fundraising Officer will also support in the creation of marketing materials to support these initiatives.

Following the growth in audience development through online events and digital activity, CCT welcomed younger and international members and increased the number of donations. We have since witnessed decreased retention rates and are looking to implement methods to increase member and donor acquisition and retention. 

The role of the Fundraising Officer is vital to maintaining excellent service delivery across our core fundraising programmes and providing strong supporter care.

This role will support the organisational-wide aim to build a collaborative fundraising culture and ensure CCT’s buildings at risk are sustained for the appreciation and benefit of future generations.

The Role

Develop the annual business plans and budgets for individual giving, membership, legacy marketing, and retail.

The Candidate
Experience of leading and developing a team.

Experience of developing and delivering a cross-channel direct marketing programme, ideally within a charity or membership organisation.

Firsthand experience of managing customer/ supporter, development, and retention campaigns.

Experience of managing budgets and developing annual plans.
