SHINE is a membership organisation offering free services and support to over 14,700 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), and associated conditions.
We currently have 750 members living with NPH and this is growing significantly each month. This role will provide a specific focus on the area of NPH, whilst also supporting wider Shine activities.
Main purpose of role
Deliver a high-quality service to and facilitate opportunities for, individuals living with NPH/dementia and their families/carers through Shine membership across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Empower and enable members living with the conditions to lead healthy and happy lives through greater independence, better condition management and by creating links to the Shine community and their local networks.
Raise awareness of NPH across Health & Social Care professionals and the public.
Support the planning and delivery of the annual NPH Awareness Week.
As part of a high performing team, support Shine to be recognised as the number one provider of support for NPH outside of the NHS.
Promote and support all Shine’s services and activities.

We have an exciting opportunity to join MASH’s staff team. We are looking for a Homeless Outreach Worker to join the team at MASH and provide support to women in Manchester. This role is part time at 21 hours per week and will include two night-time outreach shifts per week driving the MASH van.

Purpose of the role

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Homeless Outreach Worker will deliver two sessions of street outreach each week. This will involve driving and taking the MASH mobile vehicle into areas of Manchester where women are engaged in sex work on the street. The role involves delivering a harm reduction approach to offer a quality service to women to improve health, housing and safety outcomes. This will be delivered with a respectful and non-judgemental approach assisting women to reduce harmful behaviours and improving access to a range of services to improve their outcomes.

Richmond Borough Mind is a vibrant local charity that has been supporting and providing services for adults affected by mental health problems and their carers for over 60 years.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Adults Peer Support Worker to join our busy Peer Support team. You will have your own lived experience of mental health issues and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge to support others.
RB Mind has run effective peer-led services for many years. The role will be supported by RB Mind Senior Peer Support Workers, and the Peer Support Coordinator in South West London St George’s Mental Health Trust (SWLStG). Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training and clinical supervision.
With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We offer holistic and personalised care and support to service users.
The role has its own caseload and provides a range of support and person-centred interventions to meet these needs, which could include group support, one-to-one interventions and signposting where specialist advice is needed.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and able to support people on their journey to recovery. As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicant will have the skills to provide person-centred support through one-to-one sessions and facilitating groups. You will have an awareness of the boundaries we work within when supporting vulnerable adults. You should be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and must be able to work on your own initiative.
This is a partnership project with South West London St George’s Mental Health Trust (SWLStG), locally led by Richmond Borough Mind.

About You

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, you will be required to attend the Hatfield office once a week and monthly directorate meetings. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

We are looking for a new Strategy and Fundraising Lead who has a track record of successful fundraising to open up new income streams by building exciting projects informed by our community members’ vision. Our new Strategy and Fundraising Lead will be engaging new VCFSE, health and social care partners for collaborative work, as we strive to create new projects which address local health inequalities and pull down the health, social and financial barriers to creativity and support local people face.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the programme, as well as inducting and training our student workshop leaders. The right candidate will conduct regular stakeholder engagement exercises to garner feedback, ensure quality of training and inform the future development of the programme. The Operations Manager is a key role within the team, ensuring the effective and efficient management of the SLG’s three sites: the Main Gallery, the Fire Station and Art Block. This includes managing the maintenance and upkeep of the SLG’s Grade II listed buildings and artist-designed gardens, as well as leading the Front of House team to ensure that the SLG provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors and a high quality of visitor experience.
The Operations Manager works closely with the Deputy Director and manages a team comprising two Operations Supervisors, the Gallery Technician and contracted and casual Front of House staff and Cleaners. The role takes the lead on the implementation and monitoring of the SLG’s environment and sustainability policy and contributes to organisation-wide work towards the SLG’s equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
The post holder will be required to be an appointed first aider and a fire marshal, as well as a primary keyholder. They may, therefore, be called upon for out of hours emergencies. Appropriate training will be given.
