Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraising Officer to help grow voluntary income and strengthen relationships with the individuals, groups and organisations that support our work. This is a varied role combining supporter care and administration with community and corporate engagement, events and the development of new fundraising opportunities.

Applicants will need to have some previous fundraising experience, but this could have been gained through community fundraising, corporate partnerships, individual giving, challenge events, supporter engagement or another area of fundraising. We are open to different backgrounds and are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate that they understand how to engage supporters and build positive, lasting relationships.

Key responsibilities include supporting individuals and groups with their fundraising, developing relationships with community supporters and businesses, helping to coordinate fundraising events and challenge activities, and identifying opportunities to secure new support. The Fundraising Officer will also manage supporter enquiries, thank donors, maintain accurate CRM records and work with our communications and finance teams to promote fundraising activity and administer donations.

The successful candidate will be confident approaching and building relationships with new people, whether by email, telephone, online or in person. They will be comfortable representing SEL Mind, introducing our work and having initial conversations with prospective supporters and partners. They will also need strong communication, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.

This is a fixed-term role for 15 hours per week, working with a part-time Fundraising Manager. It is based in Beckenham, with some home working and travel across Bromley, Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark and Greenwich.

Closing date: Sunday 18th October (11:59pm)

Likely interview date: Tuesday 27th October

We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive a high number of applications.
