Renewed Hope is a local charity based in Redhill providing practical solutions and emotional support to the homeless, vulnerable and isolated of East Surrey..

Renewed Hope is currently seeking two experienced support and recovery workers to support our guests. One post is full time (37.5 hours p.w.£27,518 p.a.) and the other part time (19 hrs p.w. - pay pro rata of full time salary)

Renewed Hope offers support to rough sleepers and homeless people in crisis, and housed people suffering the effects of isolation and poverty.

The post holders will be working with guests in both our Drop-in and in our 4 bed supported house (Hope House), but will take a lead responsibility in one or the other of these projects.

Drop in:

• Welcome and assess first time guests, identifying priority needs.
• Signpost and support guests to access key statutory and voluntary services , including housing, benefits, homelessness services etc

Hope House:

• Support and ensure ongoing adherence to licence agreements and processes- including issuing warnings, behavioural contracts, rent collection notice papers etc
• Oversee the safe and efficient running of Hope House, taking into account any relevant Supported Housing/ HMO specific requirements
• Complete and record regular inspections of individual rooms and shared spaces, ensuring conditions are maintained to expected standards.
• Ensure required health and safety checks are carried out, including alarm testing and gas servicing

Person Specification :

• Eligibility to Work in the UK – British passport/Birth certificate or visa. We are unable to accept sponsorship applications

• Previous experience working with homeless and other vulnerable people
• Knowledge and appreciation of challenges faced by these people, for example trauma, mental illness, unemployment, addictions

Job Summary 

To ensure the appropriate care and protection of children and adults at risk, who are using Mental Health Innovations (MHI)’ services, and to take appropriate actions to safeguard those identified as being at risk of significant harm.

Key Responsibilities

• Alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with children, young people, and adults at risk of harm at Mental Health Innovations understands the safeguarding policies and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s or adult’s welfare.
• Implement Mental Health Innovations’ safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all concerns are responded to appropriately.
• Deliver training to the MHI workforce around safeguarding processes and thresholds.
• Respond to information that may constitute a safeguarding concern for children or adults at risk of harm, including:
  • assessing and clarifying information
  • reporting and recording safeguarding issues as they arise

The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for all residents experiencing emotional distress. The café is weekdays during the evening and at weekends in the afternoon. We provide initial support meetings both face to face and via the telephone, workign with clients to resolve immediate distress, and explore coping mechanisms. We then coproduce support plans with clients and offer 121’s, counselling, peer support groups and workshops as well as a social place to be.  

The support worker will be experienced in working with people in distress or who have mental health issues, highly organised and have excellent people skills.  A minimum of 3 shifts per week is required.

The service is open 7 days a week:

4.30-10pm Monday – Friday and 12 – 6pm Saturday and Sunday (Barnet)

5-10pm Monday – Friday and 12 – 5pm Saturday and Sunday (Enfield)

We’re currently recruiting two full-time Peer Support Workers to work in our Sutton and Merton offices.

These 2 posts are part of a partnership between local voluntary sector organisations and South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust. Both posts focus on offering a range of emotional, social and practical wellbeing support to young adults aged 18-25. These posts do not require a formal mental health qualification. The Peer Support Worker posts are designated for those with their own lived experience of mental health challenges who have reached a point in their recovery where they feel ready to support others on their mental health journey.  

For these roles you need to have an open and flexible attitude; an understanding of mental health; excellent engagement skills and a passion for working with young people. All posts are full-time office based and will require flexible working across service areas and interventions and will involve some regular evening and/or weekend work to meet the needs of young people.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 experienced Crisis Outreach Workers to support Mind in Enfield and Barnet's Family Hubs Service.This role is to support individuals during the perinatal period (expecting and up to 2 years after birth)  presenting at the Family Hubs experiencing mental health crisis and problems gain immediate support

The purpose of the Outreach Worker is to work with adults during the perinatal period (pre birth up to 2 years after birth), including both parents and carers. You will work as part of MiEB perinatal family hub team to identify those at risk of crisis and ensure referral pathways are in place to facilitate rapid engagement

The successful candidates should have a minimum 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues. Experience of utilising de-escalation techniques, and supporting clients presenting in emotional distress

We are recruiting two Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners to join our Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Team at YMCA East Surrey.

Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) will be expected to integrate into YMCA East Surrey’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) team and to support all early intervention work. You will assess and deliver (under supervision), outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.   

This Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner role includes completion of the Child Wellbeing Practice Postgraduate or Graduate level Diploma run by the University of 

Sussex, which follows the nationally agreed curriculum to qualify as a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.

The post holder must have experience of working with children, young people and families with multiple and/or complex needs and hold a minimum qualification equivalent to a NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field. In addition, the successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

For the Level 6 (Graduate Diploma) the minimum level would be 3 x A-levels with grades of AAB - BBB (BBC if meet the criteria for contextual offer), or an equivalent qualification such as NVQ level 3 or above, or equivalent experience (and proven ability to work at graduate level). Evidence of experience of working with children and young people.

For the Level 7 (Post-graduate Diploma) the minimum requirement is a Graduate Degree at 2:2, NVQ level 6 or above in Health Care or equivalent experience (and proven ability to work at post-graduate level) 

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm. Includes attendance at the University of Sussex 2 days per week from January to October.

Location: Tadworth, but working across various locations in East Surrey and attendance at the University of Sussex.

Key responsibilities:

· Working in partnership to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties

· To develop plans for successful intervention and agreed outcomes.

· To accept referrals within agreed national and local protocols.

· To undertake accurate assessment of risk to self and others.

· To adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision, signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.

· Through close case management and supervision, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope

· Provide a range of information and support for evidence based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help.

· Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or CYP in treatment, where appropriate.

· Keep coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform decision making.

· Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post including practical, academic and practice-based assessments.

· As well as attendance at the University for training, fulfil private study requirements to enhance learning and prepare assignments for examination - recommendation is 150 hours of study for each of the 8 modules, which includes the teaching days.

· Assess and integrate issues relating to transitions, education and training/employment into the overall therapeutic process.

ShowerBox provides free mobile shower services for people experiencing homelessness and hygiene poverty – offering dignity, care, and a safe space for anyone who needs it. Our Central London project is our busiest – over 200 guests visit each Saturday and around 60 guests have showers. We couldn’t do it without our amazing team of 20+ volunteers each week. 

Role Summary

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and hands-on Service Delivery Shift Leader to coordinate and oversee the smooth running of our Central London project based in Tottenham Court Road WC2H.  You’ll be responsible for taking the lead on setting up the Saturday service, managing the volunteer team, and ensuring a respectful, welcoming experience for all our guests. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the setup and close-down of the shower service

• Coordinate and support volunteers on the day

• Ensure health and safety standards are upheld

• Be the main point of contact for guests and volunteers

• Record and provide service delivery data as required

• Respond to any on-site issues with calm and care

Requirements:

• Organised and dependable, with good communication skills

• Experience leading a team of approx 20 volunteers each week

• Physically able to assist with setup (lifting, connecting gas/water/power - training provided)

• Experience of safeguarding processes and conflict management

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. Our Specialist Advocates support families impacted by fatal domestic abuse through provision of lay advocacy, for and on behalf of, families with a range of statutory service providers (e.g. those conducting reviews and inquiries, social services, police, housing) and work to build good relations between all parties.  To ensure that families get the support they need, you will use AAFDA’s Home Office endorsed seven-step approach to working with individuals and families, to ensure that they receive the best possible support and advocacy to restore dignity and relief for families and to help them cope and recover. Through trauma-informed approaches, you will:

listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight.
provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide Reviews, Mental Health Reviews, Inquests, Independent Office of Police Conduct inquiries and other types of inquiries.
manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities.
give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf.
Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

To provide high quality support as a non-clinical member of NHS' multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) to an allocated group of adult service users (18+) with moderate to severe mental illness within the community. To carry out duties in line with Hestia's and North London Mental Health Partnership (NLMHP)'s policies and procedures.

Here's what the team will be looking for:

You will bring either an NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent) or substantial experience gained through at least two years in a mental health setting. With a strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery, and co-production principles, you will apply this knowledge to deliver effective and inclusive support. You will have proven experience of working collaboratively with other professionals, services, and communities, ensuring a joined-up approach to care. Your knowledge of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and the Mental Health Act will enable you to assess needs effectively and contribute to safe, person-centred support planning.

You will demonstrate excellent communication, relationship-building, and group facilitation skills, alongside the ability to adapt to different service user needs. With confidence in using IT systems, including electronic case management tools, you will be able to maintain accurate records and monitor outcomes effectively. Resilient and adaptable, you will maintain clear professional boundaries while working independently or as part of a fast-paced team. Above all, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice that promotes dignity, empowerment, and recovery.
