Our peer led crisis service in Bury provides peer support and practical support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis for adults experiencing a mental health crisis in our community. The service started in 2021 and has received year on year funding increases due to the success we have had. We are expanding our service so we now have a vacancy for a new Service Lead position within our team.

The Service Lead position is an exciting opportunity to join our well respected metal health charity and help shape this growing service. This is very much a lead from the front role, our service leads hold frontline responsibilities as well as their management responsibilities. You would be the 'go to' person on a day to day basis when on shift in the crisis service. You would be responsible for:

• Overseeing the day to day functioning of the service
• Line-managing, nurturing and developing your team
• Working with your fellow Crisis Service Leads, and the senior leadership team of the charity, to develop and evaluate the service
• Provide therapeutic face to face, and occasional telephone crisis support, through a mutual negotiation of the visitor’s needs, within the service.

We are looking to recruit someone with personal experience of mental distress as this is a peer role. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with people with mental health problems, which should include experience of working with people at risk of suicide and self-injury.

We are looking for someone with a great combination of skills. You will need to have proven experience of managing and leading a team or service, and great therapeutic skills, with the ability to support and develop a team. You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team which is committed to providing the best support possible.

Mind The Gap Emotional Health Support offers young people an alternative way of accessing mental health support. The service offers support to young people who are struggling to find or engage with the right services. This support offer is youth-work based non-clinical support. Working primarily from Worthing Library, you will deliver face-to-face sessions using evidence-based interventions to engage, educate and empower young people around issues affecting their emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities: 

• Offer 7 sessions of support to each young person, including initial needs assessment and weekly sessions
• Lead on facilitation of emotional well-being and psycho-educational groups
• Support young people transitioning from specialist CAMHS/AMHS services
• Work systemically with parents/carers, educators, and health professionals
• Develop links with agencies and make appropriate referrals
• Promote service user participation and voice
•  Comply with safeguarding, health & safety, data protection and EDI policies

About the role

We are looking to recruit a support worker to be the main point of contact for a specific set of service users who access housing, EET (education, employability, and training) and mental health support through First Choice Housing. You will work closely with those service users that you support to develop support plans, identify appropriate activities and services, and collaborate with internal and external partners to help each person achieve their goals and deliver great impact. You will work with the Programmes and Impact Manager and external partners to develop programmes or projects of interest to our service users and encourage engagement. As support worker you will also support the delivery of discreet streams of work including one to one or group digital skills sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating tailored support for each client to help them ultimately enter sustainable independent living (likely in the privately rented sector). This includes supporting service users to: access internal and external opportunities and services; liaise with voluntary and statutory agencies; and maintain their tenancies with FCH and to access privately rented housing.
• Managing the onboarding of clients who are newly accessing FCH services. This includes assessing client needs and co-producing support plans; supporting their integration into their shared accommodation with their housemates; and helping them identify local amenities.
• To maintain weekly contact with service users assigned to you as part of building strong relationships and delivering high quality services.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders including the local authority, other charities and community leaders. Maintain awareness of the activities and services on offer locally and disseminate knowledge to the broader team as appropriate (please note this is a shared responsibility across the team).
• Update and accurately maintain First Chocie Housings database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This data will include recording interactions with service users, progress towards achieving or meeting goals, baseline and subsequent outcomes stars and client surveys.
• Where appropriate, work with the Programmes and Impact Manager to manage volunteers delivering discreet programmes.
• Proactively working with the broader team to improve service delivery and drive impact.

Our client provides supported accommodation for adults who have mental health needs and support for alcohol/substance use needs. Their clients have a mix of medium to high support needs and provide 24/7 support across two houses next door to each other, as well as floating support across 4 properties and sublets in Portsmouth. Thier sublet service support provides housing management support to clients living in self-contained units across the city to manage a tenancy independently. 

They are looking for a Mental Health Recovery Worker to join a small team that works collaboratively with clients to help them achieve positive outcomes. We are seeking to appoint an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) in West Sussex. The role will be based at Langley Green Hospital in Crawley, with regular travel to other sites in West Sussex, including weekly visits to Meadowfield Hospital in Worthing and occasional visits to the Brighton office for meetings and training.

This role involves providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy, working within the framework of the Mental Health Act 1983 to support people to understand their rights under the Act and participate in decisions about their care and treatment across the area of West Sussex. The post requires an understanding of advocacy, experience of managing a client case load, excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of professionals, whilst retaining independence.

About the Project

Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver a one-to-one outreach service for people who are in psychiatric hospitals across Hertfordshire, based at Kingfisher Court in Radlett.

About the Role:

The Bounce Back worker will use a recovery orientated approach working with patients on the ward, and in the local community, including in people’s homes.

The Bounce Back Worker will be based at Kingfisher Court or Albany Lodge and Herts Mind Network Centres, promoting joint working between Kingfisher Court staff and HMN, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.

The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 10 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patient’s homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge.

The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive referrals from the ward teams at Kingfisher Court, Albany Lodge and other appropriate hospitals across Hertfordshire.
• Provide practical and emotional support to encourage patients to develop their independence within their local community.
• Facilitate a smooth discharge from hospital back to the community.
• Have a solid understanding on the dual effect of mental health and drugs and alcohol.
• Monitor outcomes and evaluate the service.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of patients using the service is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• Embed a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.

The Early Intervention Coordinator is a key role within the School Based Needs Service, working as part of the borough and district-based community teams, comprised of NHS staff and third sector workforce under the umbrella of The Surrey Wellbeing Partnership. This team will build support around schools offering a wide menu of services across a cluster of schools based on borough/district boundaries.

The role of the EIC is to deliver and support children and young people through one- to- one direct work, small group sessions and signposting to specialist services. These interventions will be delivered across a network of secondary schools in the Runnymede, Surrey Heath and Waverley areas.

Responsibilities 

1. Design, deliver and review evidence-based interventions for children and young people which aim to improve mental health and well-being and build on existing strengths

• Assess the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change (Goal Based Outcome Assessments).

• Manage own caseload of children and young people facing a wide range of issues, in both one to one and group settings, to address emerging needs and help build resilience, develop coping strategies and improve their mental health & wellbeing.

• Provide advice, guidance and signposting to young people and their families, that will connect them to resources that will support young people’s wellbeing.

• To operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity and ensures all work is sensitive to a range of ethnic, cultural and religious groups, is gender sensitive and anti-discriminatory.

2. Develop and maintain relationships with key school staff in secondary schools and Schools Based Needs Team

• Work in close partnership and collaboratively with pastoral staff in school, Surrey Wellbeing Partners, Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership, Surrey Children’s Services, local Mental Health Support Teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people and families.

• Ensure that children and young people with more intensive support needs are put in touch with relevant Intensive Intervention services (whilst continuing to provide support until the intensive support is in place).

3. Impact, Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting

Team Lead South (Engagement and Support)

Location: Cambridge & Ely

Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum

Centre 33 is an ambitious and growing charity based across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We offer a range of high-quality services to young people aged up to 25, including information and support on a “drop in” basis, mental health services, counselling, housing and financial advice, sexual health support and support for young carers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established ‘Someone to Talk to’ service in a Team Lead role.  The Team Lead will manage and oversee a team of staff and volunteers supporting young people across Centre 33’s two hubs in our South Locality – in Cambridge City and Ely. The Team Lead will work closely with the other Team Leads and Heads of Service to jointly ensure our multidisciplinary teams deliver excellent, safe, impactful and responsive services to young people.

We are looking for a highly motivated professional with experience working within a practical support, youth work or mental health role, and with experience of managing people.  The Team Lead will bring strong expertise and leadership to Centre 33’s holistic support offer for young people aged 13-25 years: our open-access drop-in, ongoing support around practical needs such as housing, and flexible mental health support. They will be responsible for providing support with case allocation, case management, reflective practice, risk management and Safeguarding. They will provide day-to-day designated Safeguarding leadership, supported by the Head of Service and Director of Services.  They will develop strong relationships with local organisations to ensure effective joint working and support for young people.  This role may deliver ad hoc case work to support young people with more complex needs but will not hold an ongoing regular case load.

The hours of work for this role are predominantly within core opening hours of 10 to 6pm, with some evening/Saturday working based on a rota. Due to our service delivery, it is important that the Team Lead is available for hub-based work during our core working hours.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs). 

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.
