Duties and responsibilities

● Identify and secure opportunities for SEED’s work and stories to be featured in international news outlets, podcasts, and other platforms.

• Have strong subject knowledge (confident enough to tutor up to GCSE)

• Work collaboratively with other tutors and mentors

About Victory Afghanistan

Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered nonprofit dedicated to providing education and mentorship to Afghan girls and young women who have been banned from attending school. We currently support over 800 students through six levels of English instruction and three mentoring pathways:

1. Online Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through remote universities.

2. Offline Higher Education – Scholarships and sponsorships abroad.

3. Online Work & Internships – Virtual career and internship opportunities.

About the Role

We are now recruiting a Volunteer Higher Education Pathway Manager to lead and expand our Online Higher Education stream. This is a volunteer leadership position that requires drive, moxie, ambition, and daring, a chance to test your skills and your character while doing something that truly matters.

You’ll step into an existing structure with full guidance from the previous manager, so you won’t be starting from zero. Your goal will be to identify and secure online higher education opportunities for Afghan women who cannot leave the country,  whether through university partnerships, scholarships, sponsorships, or donated course placements.

You’ll also guide 3 Project Coordinators (who are students in our academy) and work closely with the Operations Manager to help deliver tangible outcomes.

This is a role for someone who gets things done. It’s fine if you make mistakes,  what matters is consistency, initiative, and a willingness to keep pushing forward. We’re looking for someone who thrives under responsibility and believes in turning ideas into action.

Key Responsibilities

• Build partnerships with universities, organisations, and institutions offering online higher education opportunities.

• Identify and coordinate scholarship, sponsorship, or course placement options for students.

• Lead and mentor three Project Coordinators who support the Pathway Programme.

• Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and other 2 Pathway Managers to achieve shared targets for 2026.

Rising Capacities for Children Africa (RICCA)

Rising Capacities for Children Africa (RICCA) tackles child poverty in rural Kenya, especially in Kirinyaga County, by creating inclusive, child-friendly learning environments. Through the Ricca Afterschool Center, children aged 6–17 access personalized support, mentorship, and engaging programs in arts, sports, agriculture, and digital literacy. Help children across Latin America improve their English while you build real teaching English online skills. We provide full induction and ongoing support. No prior teaching experience required.

What you’ll do:

No Panic is a national charity, supporting people with a variety of anxiety issues, including panic attacks, OCD, agoraphobia and health anxiety. We provide self-help advice over our helpline and additional services including CBT-Focused Mentoring, Extra Listening and Anxiety Support Chat.

If you are a keen fundraiser, willing to volunteer to raise money for No Panic in your community, we would like to hear from you.

Activities

Founded in 1997, the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants provides a place for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum to rebuild their life with support and community. From classes to casework to financial assistance, the Centre has a wide offering available for our community of over 200 people. Our approach is compassionate and human and the support we offer is long term - on average people stay with us around four years.

The current Board brings a wide range of charity and public body experience including strategy and fundraising and we are looking for skills to both enhance and complement these strengths.

The Centre has a dedicated and talented staff team led by our CEO, Andy Ruiz Palma, who joined in 2000 as an English teacher. In addition to this staff resource we have around 40 volunteers who provide direct support through activities. Victory Afghanistan is a volunteer -led nonprofit providing free online English lessons and mentoring for Afghan girls and women who are currently barred from formal education. Our mission is to equip them with the skills and confidence to apply for scholarships and university placements abroad.

We are looking for a number of volunteer IELTS Tutors to support our mentorship-level students from January to May 2026. These students already have an IELTS level of around 6.0 and now need focused preparation to achieve higher scores required for university entry.

You will be teaching bright, ambitious young women who are eager to perfect their academic English, improve their fluency, and succeed in international admissions. Lessons are held online once or twice a week, and materials can be adapted to suit your teaching style.

Commitment: 1–2 hours per week (online) depending on your availability.
Programme duration: 16 weeks
Start date: Third week of January 2026
End date: Third week of May 2026
