The Learning Specialist contributes to the development and delivery of training materials and resources within the organisation. You will work closely with the Learning & Organisational Development Partner to support various learning and organisational development initiatives. You will also be key in the engagement and effective utilisation of Ambitious Learning (our eLearning platform).
You will design and develop training content for delivery through the LMS across various topics as directed, ensuring it meets the needs and learning styles of diverse staff. You’ll facilitate training sessions and assist in ongoing professional development programmes for Charity staff and managers, promoting continuous learning and growth. You’ll maintain central records and certifications, ensuring all training and learning initiatives comply with relevant regulations and standards.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A CIPD qualification (or working towards qualification) or equivalent Learning and Development qualification/experience.

- Skilled in LMS deployment, content development and management reporting.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. The role
This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.
About You
You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. About Rockinghorse Children’s Charity
Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports children across Sussex. We support babies, children, young people and their families at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.
We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors, nurses and other health professionals to do more. All of projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families. This includes lifesaving medical equipment, support for parents and families, toys for children spending time in hospitals across Sussex, the environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital and additional staff to make sure children get the best possible care when they are unwell.
Originally set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, we have been supporting children for more than 55 years. In that time, we have supported nearly a million children and their families. As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, including the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, we work with the NHS, charity partners and the Sussex community to ensure children can be children no matter how unwell they are.

We are thrilled to embark on an exciting new project, the Rockinghorse Wellbeing Service, designed to proactively enhance the mental health and well-being of hundreds of children, young people, and families living in Sussex. This innovative service will be situated at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.
The Wellbeing Service Manager will be responsible for delivering certain activities based on their skills and experience, collaborating with third-party providers and volunteers for others. This may involve bedside activities to improve the experience of in-patients, as well as group activities within the hospital or out in the community.
Each activity will undergo careful planning and evaluation, incorporating the voices and perspectives of young people. This approach ensures that we provide the most impactful activities to meet their needs.
Our primary goal is to support children and young people managing various illnesses, conditions, and disabilities through activities that alleviate stress and foster connections with others undergoing similar experiences.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Wellbeing Service Manager to join our team and take the lead on this new service. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in elevating the overall wellbeing of our young patients. The position involves coordinating and implementing a diverse range of wellbeing activities and programs focused on fostering a positive and supportive environment within the hospital.
This role is part of the Projects & Operations team, one of three teams within the charity, alongside the Supporter Engagement team and the Communications team.
Duties of the role
Develop and Implement the Wellbeing Service
· The Wellbeing Service Manager will form part of a steering committee of senior and experienced NHS staff who are helping to develop and shape the service.
· Design and execute engaging wellbeing programs tailored to the unique needs of children, their families, and hospital staff.
· Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to integrate wellbeing activities into the overall care plan for paediatric patients.

The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager to provide expert support to two major programmes and also more broadly across PSI. This is an exciting new role which will concentrate on developing and embedding evaluation and learning practice within PSI’s activities, with significant opportunity to add value. It is anticipated that you will divide your time between three broad areas of work.
Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative (working title)
You will support the development and implementation of a MEL workplan for this initiative, based around the Theory of Change (ToC) and working closely with collaborators at Science for Africa Foundation in Nairobi.
The International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC)
You will lead on the design, implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of a MEL framework based on the ISARIC ToC model, using research and insight to inform developments. This will include defining and implementing cross-team data collection processes and tools, creating and championing a strategy for dissemination of and access to ISARIC outputs, and preparing reports.
PSI-wide activity
You will deliver guidance to other groups within PSI. This will include supporting researchers to articulate impact in grant applications and publications, and providing MEL expertise to ongoing projects. You may also be required to work with colleagues across the wider Department of Medicine to prepare material for the Research Excellence Framework 2028.
It is essential that you hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, alongside significant experience of planning and conducting monitoring and evaluation using different methodologies, gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate reach and significance of research impact. You will have excellent diplomacy, interpersonal and listening skills with proven ability to relate well to staff at all levels. Familiarity with the UK Research Excellence Framework and experience in monitoring and evaluation of scientific, global health or policy research would be desirable.

Our Schools Programmes offer long-term support to the schools who need this most. We do not charge for our service and are constantly working to break down barriers to participation in Outdoor Learning.
We offer a targeted programme of support, individually designed for each school, based on a needs analysis and conversations with staff. This will follow one of two pathways:
Foundations for Outdoor Learning
This programme is a comprehensive, long-term support package for schools wanting to embed Outdoor Learning into their curriculum and practice. Support may include teacher CPD, mentoring, and advice on how to optimise use of your school grounds. We do this on your school site, with some supported visits to local green spaces and our own learning locations.
Enriching Education
This programme uses The Ernest Cook Trust’s own learning locations - woodlands, farms, rivers and other natural landscapes - together with our Outdoor Learning leaders to support a school’s Outdoor Learning provision. This may be a school’s first experience of Outdoor Learning, or it may enhance and extend existing programmes. Either way, we aim to inspire all participants to spend more time
outdoors.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Learning and Development Coordinator is an essential role within the Learning and Development Team and the Programmes Team more generally. Main Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Ensure that the quality of our L&D services and material is maintained, improved and expanded:
- Contribute to guiding, standardising and quality assuring the conversion of learning/training material, content and courses or course modules to e-learning
- Contribute to updating, maintaining and expanding RedR UK L&D and training material and resources, store & categorise them, and make them accessible

Ensure that RedR UK services meet the needs of the sector and work to expand our reach:
- Keep up to date with developments in learning with a focus on eLearning technologies and platforms, as well as other training methodologies and issues in the humanitarian sector and advise RedR UK programme teams accordingly
- Contribute to identifying and exploring possibilities for expanding the range of services offered by the organisation and source funding for their implementation
- Support business development efforts and proposal preparation by ensuring that the L&D component of the methodology is appropriate, services offered are in line with requirements, likely to achieve high impact and adding overall value to the programme

Communications:
- Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues

This role will deliver fundraising programmes to support the University’s Alumni Fund – a fund which is championed by many thousands of our graduates, and which supports the whole student experience.
You will deliver a range of fundraising projects including an annual student telethon campaign, direct mail, and digital projects (including Giving Day campaigns). Working across the University, you will develop close and supportive relationships with senior staff and talented students alike.
The University’s Alumni Fund helps students to have an outstanding student experience by funding a range of projects including scholarships for students in need; community programmes; international experiences; learning resources and student-led projects. You will raise awareness of the Fund to the student community, and you will manage the funding application process, taking an active role in awarding funding to successful projects.

Job Description
Job Title: Training Lead: Parents and Volunteers
Hours: 2.5 days a week
Salary: £32,000 for Cardiff Based/£34,000 for London Based
Reports to: Head of Services
Location: Cardiff or London (Brockley SE4)
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and engaging training lead for our parent and volunteer training programs. The training lead for parents and volunteers will lead on the design, development and delivery of a program of training support for parents impacted by Child Sexual Abuse and will support with the delivery of the training for new We Stand volunteers.
Role Description
To plan, develop and deliver parent training and workshops for protective parents and carers whose
children have been sexually abused; to support parents and carers to understand and process the impacts of child sexual abuse and learn strategies for supporting their children after abuse together with those who share similar experiences. To work collaboratively with We Stand colleagues, to provide support that is accessible, appropriate, timely and tailored to suit the needs of individual clients.
To contribute to the recruitment and selection of We Stand volunteers including student therapists on placement and helpline volunteers. To lead on the delivery of induction and training for all new volunteers and ensure that they are adequately prepared and supported to begin their placement with We Stand.
Parent Training:
Parent training and workshops are designed to support parents following a disclosure of CSA. The training focuses on providing parents and carers with the useful information and strategies they need to manage and support their child or young person’s journey of recovery. Via 1:1 or group sessions, parents gain the knowledge they need to help them support their child and regain confidence in themselves.
Key Responsibilities
Design and development of content

Setting up an annual program of training and workshop delivery for parents and carers

Ongoing review and development of content to ensure the program is up to date and tailored to the needs of clients
Managing referrals and Assessment of clients

Working collaboratively with We Stand colleagues to promote training and workshops to relevant parents and carers

Managing referrals to training and workshops and assessing the suitability of clients for the program

Be a point of contact for parents and carers on the waiting list for training and workshops
Delivery of group and individual training

Deliver We Stand’s 4-week training programme for parents and carers
-
Be a point of contact and support for parents during and immediately after their involvement in the program

Where appropriate, deliver 1:1 training slots to parents and carers who require this additional support due to e.g. those with additional needs, high levels of anxiety or a particularly complex situation (including sibling abuse)

Keep accurate and appropriate records for every parent/ carer attending training and workshops
Monitoring and Evaluation

Ensure that robust monitoring and evaluation processes are in place to capture the experience of all parents and carers attending training and workshops

Analyse evaluation data against programme aims and objectives to ensure outcomes are being met and to inform service developments

Take responsibility for continuous improvement of processes to support the effective delivery of training and workshops for parents and carers

Contribute towards reports for funders, and the We Stand Board of Trustees

This includes via a comprehensive training and induction programme and ongoing professional development.
