Receptionists Job Share £27,500 FTE (based on-site in Croydon – one role is 26.25 hours per week – from 8.45am to 2pm Monday to Friday; second role is 30.5 hours per week, 1.45pm to 7pm on Monday to Thursday, 1.45pm to 6pm on Fridays).  Extra hours available for holiday cover.  One year fixed term contract. 
 

Rape Crisis South London is looking for experienced and empathetic receptionists to job share.  
 

As a receptionist for the charity, you will contribute to the effective running of the organisation by managing the reception function on a day-to-day basis, making clients and other visitors feel welcome and safe as they arrive at our building. 
 

Responsible to the office and facilities manager, you will play a critical role in delivering a smooth and supportive client experience.

Purpose of the role:

At NEON, we know that you can’t separate the external work of the organisation from the internal work. They are so interlinked and interdependent that they both have to be given priority and resources if we want to achieve high impact. We see them as inseparable. 

So the purpose of this role is to support NEON achieving its mission by ensuring the smooth running of NEON’s finance systems and processes. You’ll do this by delivering on the main financial tasks day-to-day, and support with finance projects aimed at improving NEON’s systems.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Doing all of our day-to-day fundraising administration to keep us well-organised and compliant. This includes:

   1. Recording and monitoring fundraising data using our Fundraising Tracking Database

   2. Keeping all of our grant agreements, contracts and other relevant documentation well-organised on GDrive and elsewhere 

   3. Ensuring compliance with the financial requirements of the grant agreements, and updating and maintaining the grant payments schedule 

   4. Raising invoices on Xero in line with funder agreements - noting instalment dates and receipts

2. Preparing payroll each month, ensuring everything happens on time and coordinating with our payroll agency. (This may only be a temporary responsibility) 

3. Processing and reconciling payments. This includes:

   1. Reconciling bank receipts and chasing late payments

   2. Processing supplier invoices and payments

   3. Monitoring our team’s Pleo card expenses and posting on Slack to our team for authorisation

   4. Managing the subscriptions on Pleo cards (this is likely a temporary responsibility until our People & Ops Manager returns from sabbatical leave)

4. Preparing some financial reports and accounts. This includes accounts to trial balance, and ad hoc reports from Xero when our team have finance queries or need support

5. Supporting with finance projects which make our finance systems work more efficiently, simply and sustainably e.g. helping to update our budget spreadsheets and approach to budgeting, or moving to a new bank

6. Supporting the Head of Finance with budgets, financial planning and reports and any other ad hoc finance tasks

7. Being part of Ops Hub shared work and cross-organisational work and team days 

About you:

• You have experience dealing with people in different capacities, both internally and externally, on a day to day basis, and build strong working relationships

• You have solid finance experience and skill. For us that means:

  1. a minimum of three years work experience in a finance role, preferably within the charity/non profit sector. This means you have a good understanding of non-profit finance, including VAT and managing restricted and unrestricted funds

  2. a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (with BACs, invoicing, etc) and Receivable (invoicing and credit control) processes

  3. a Level 4 AAT, equivalent qualification or equivalent experience

  4. experience in control accounts reconciliation, and posting journals

• You know how to use accounting software and apps (e.g., Xero, Quickbooks, Sage) as well as Microsoft Excel or Google sheets

• You are proactive, well-organised and feel empowered to solve problems yourself when they come up (sometimes described as an “ownership mindset”), as well as balancing this with asking for help when you need it

• Excellence is important to you and it shows in your work. Whatever you do, you do it to a high standard

• You have strong organisational and time-management skills that are required to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. And you are comfortable moving between different paces of work - slower, more methodical work and quicker turnaround work

• You are a great communicator and you know that good communication is really important to the type of work you do - you’ll be happy to use our internal comms systems (Slack, Google Suite, Asana) to keep everyone in the loop on your work

Role Purpose:

• Oversee Street Child’s rolling school construction programme in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Poverty Truth Commissions are about bringing about change - changing organisations and communities behaviours and attitudes towards poverty and taking action to tackle it. The PTC brings together people who have direct lived experience of poverty with key decision makers to form a group of commissioners who meet and work together on the key issues guided by the Community Commissioners. 

The purpose of the Community Engagement Worker role is to coordinate and facilitate a Poverty Truth Commission where people and their stories are at the heart of truly understanding and addressing poverty, delivering a commission in a truly relational way, which prioritises the leadership of those who are more often marginalised or voiceless.

• To reach and develop trusted relationships with people with lived experience of poverty, with the aim of recruiting Community Commissioners who are representative of our local community.
• Create effective conditions for learning and support the Community Commissioners to learn and share together easily, facilitating sessions that enable them to build solidarity with one another.

What You’ll Do

• Trusts & grants: Work with the Development & Communications Manager to write and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

The Early Intervention Practitioners will provide preventative, early intervention support to children, young people and their families in primary schools in Runnymede, Waverley and Surrey Heath, through delivering a range of evidence-based interventions to enable each young person to realise their potential, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and fruitfully within their school, and make a positive contribution within their community.

Responsibilities

Design, deliver and review evidence-based interventions for children and young people which aim to improve mental health and well-being and build on existing strengths

· Assess the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them to identify individual goals to achieve desired change (Goals Based Outcome Assessments)

· Provide support to young people facing a wide range of issues, in both one to one and group settings to address emerging needs and help build resilience, develop coping strategies and improve their mental health & wellbeing

Overview

Exclusion from education happens when a child is suspended from school (temporarily or permanently) but it also happens when they are sent out of the class, put into an isolation room, or even wander around corridors doing all they can to avoid going to their lessons! With 32 million ‘learning days’ lost in 22/23 (up from 19 million, pre covid) this is serious societal problem with devastating lifelong consequences for young people – especially those from poorer backgrounds. SOHK is on a mission to help children experiencing exclusion, change their life trajectory.

With teams in England, Scotland and Wales, working with hundreds of ‘at risk’ students, we are looking to appoint a Regional Manager in South East Wales who will be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of our programme in Wales. The successful candidate will ensure the alignment of delivery with our organisational goals and standards, line manage and support team members and maintain strong relationships with schools and other stakeholders. They will play a key role in monitoring outcomes, reporting progress, and driving growth to ensure the programme’s success.

A key element of this brand-new role is school retention and sales, ensuring that schools continue to engage with and invest in SOHK programmes. The Regional Manager will also be expected to grow the SOHK network in Wales and attending networking and fundraising functions as required. SOHK has ambitious plans to grow in Wales over the next 5 years with the Regional Manager playing a vital part in delivering this vision.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and manage the Schools Facilitator, Rugby Coach, and SEL Lead to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Hold regular team meetings to track progress, resolve issues, and drive improvements.

Programme Delivery Oversight

• Serve as the main contact for partner schools, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Oversee team performance and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all programme elements
• Align delivery with school and student needs.

Schools Retention & Sales

• Maintain strong school relationships to support satisfaction and long-term engagement.
• Address school concerns proactively to improve retention.
• Assist in attracting new schools by promoting the programme’s impact.
• Support proposal development and agreement finalisation with potential partners.
• Track retention and sales to contribute to regional growth.

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

• Assist in collecting and submitting accurate M&E data in collaboration with the Evidence & Impact Manager.

Communication & Reporting

• Provide regular updates to the Director of Programmes on delivery, relationships, and impact.
• Participate in internal and external meetings.
• Submit termly reports on schedule.

Team Development

• Coach and support team members through regular 1:1s and check-ins.
• Lead onboarding and training for new staff.
• Conduct performance reviews in line with PDR processes.
• Promote a collaborative, supportive team culture.

Delivery

• Deliver programme sessions two days per week alongside the delivery team.

Growing SOHK Wales

• Play a key role in strengthening and expanding the SOHK programme across Wales.
• Support the Director of Programmes in developing strategic partnerships with Welsh schools and local authorities.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to identify funding opportunities thar align with Welsh education priorities.
• Represent SOHK at events and networking opportunities across Wales to raise the charity’s profile.
• Provide insight into regional needs and ensure that the programme offering is tailored to the Welsh education landscape.
• Actively contribute to planning and executing expansion strategies to increase reach and impact across the country.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience working in the charity or education sector (desirable).
• Proven team and performance management experience.
• Background in delivering educational interventions.

Terms of Appointment

• This will be a fulltime, permanent contract, commencing in July 2025.
• The salary will be £38,880 per annum.
• Generous paid leave allowance of 28 days plus additional days awarded with service.
• SOHK offers flexible working schedules to staff where possible.
• You are required to attend our annual 3 day staff conference in August.
• Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for successful candidates and the job is dependent on suitable references.

Salary includes a payment for annual leave entitlement as the post holder will be expected to work every week during term time.

South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.

As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.

We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments 
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
• Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
• Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
• Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
• Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service
