Job description

Purpose: To help more people hear about the value of Kaleidoscope, while developing our recruitment and fundraising in your local area. This is also a space to bring your leadership skills and passion for Kaleidoscope to life locally.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent Kaleidoscope in your community and help promote our work and increase fundraising opportunities. 

  • Actively engage and build relationships with local groups and associations. 

  • Run stands at events, community spaces, conferences or protests

  • Give talks and short presentations about Kaleidoscope and inspire others to support our work. 

Additional Duties

  • Attend team meetings - 1 hour online on a fortnightly basis

For this volunteering opportunity, having your own transport would be a helpful addition. Any mileage you incur can be claimed back through our volunteer expenses policy.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to actively seek opportunities for talks and build relationships in the local community 

  • Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others. 

  • Basic IT skills and access to email. 

  • Flexibility to offer support when opportunities are available.

Time Commitment Estimate 

  • The time commitment needed for this role will vary depending on the time of year and number of groups and associations actively supporting Kaleidoscope within your local area.

  • The minimum time we ask for is …2 - 4… hours a week. 

Training and Support 

  • A comprehensive induction to Kaleidoscope and training for the role. 

  • Resources to support you in your role e.g. presentations. 

  • Support from your the Kaleidoscope Committee and remote volunteers

  • The opportunity to gain and develop skills and to meet other volunteers. 

Mission Alignment Requirements

All applicant must demonstrate: 

  • Understanding of Kaleidoscope’s core purpose 

  • Adherence to safeguarding and ethical guidelines (AI to not be used for the work of Kaleidoscope)
