About the team

This is an exciting new role within our growing Corporate Development function, part of a 12-strong Corporate Fundraising team. About the Role

As a Housing Floating Support Worker, you will help women with practical tenancy sustainment, as well as ongoing support to cope, recover and move towards independence. You will achieve this through providing resettlement support, financial independence, training/employment opportunities, and ongoing housing support.

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them tounderstand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.

About the role

The Lead Worker - Coaching role at Crisis Skylight South Wales is a varied and fulfilling role. You will assist people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless by assessing their needs and offering appropriate interventions (coaching, information, advice and guidance, advocacy and direct support) and use a variety of communication skills to develop, follow and review a personalised plan to end their homelessness sustainably.

You will have access to regular one to one supervision sessions and facilitated reflective practice sessions to support the positive impact of the role; working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external services is also an important aspect of the role to ensure that individuals are able to access the services they need.

About you

• Ability to motivate and encourage individuals to maintain their access to the service by working through the changes they have identified and supporting them to recognise their progress.
• Current knowledge of health and safety issues and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe environment is provided for individual’s accessing the service, staff, volunteers, supporters and visitors.
• Being able to support team members, including volunteers, by sharing your knowledge and skills and by working constructively together to end the homelessness of the individuals accessing the service.

• Ability to collaborate with partner organisations to maintain service knowledge, referral pathways and manage safeguarding concerns. When necessary, advocate for individuals to ensure that they are able to receive, engage or continue to access services appropriate to their needs.

• Knowledge and experience of coaching which assists individuals experiencing homelessness through a process of strengths based personal change; coupled with the ability to recognise when other interventions like IAG, advocacy or direct assistance may be needed.

• You may have experience in working within a relevant sector such as homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, criminal justice, domestic abuse, modern day slavery or employability support. You may also hold or develop one or more areas of expertise such as housing access, homelessness / housing legislation, welfare benefits, employment support, health services, drug and alcohol treatment, MAPPA, MARAC or criminal justice services. This may enhance the effectiveness of the services’ ability to support members and engage effectively with partners.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK:

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

Our members are looking for an enthusiastic indovidual to join our Network Hope Activities team as staff cover for 9 months.

You will work under the direction of the Project Manager and alongside, tutors to deliver activities, support networks, health and wellbeing and training support to beneficiaries and to recruit, train and support a network of volunteers to facilitate the support groups. 

The role will involve collaboration with other local businesses and third sector organisations to deliver the activities. This Project’s aim is to support vulnerable disabled people (including those with learning disabilities, autism and those affected by mental health issues and their families) through consistent provision of health and wellbeing activities, pathways into employment training, sport and social activities, advice, signposting and peer support based both at our Resource Centre in W10 and out in the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
1. Supporting Tutors, volunteers, senior staff and beneficiaries 
 
Utilising EPM’s resources to lead in locally sourcing beneficiaries and volunteers from the local community. Liaise with the NHS and Social Services, partner providers and schools, colleges, community centres, voluntary organisations and referral agencies. 

· Facilitate and support local support groups, 

· Plan, arrange and run a variety of activities and training programmes. 

· Recruit and support a network of volunteers to co-facilitate support groups and activities 

· Under the direction of The Project Manager conduct home visits to assess the needs of the families and inform them of support available through Network Hope. 

· Arrange the selection and delivery of healthy food and drinks and running the catering and gardening training groups. 

· Work with sports and fitness tutors to ensure all equipment used in sports/fitness sessions are secure and meet health and safety standards. 

· Coordinate and oversee respite and peer group support to the families. 

· Develop, monitor, update and review individual action plans for all beneficiaries. 

· Conduct evaluation reports (including case studies) and work with senior management to collate the information. 

· Assist senior management in leading  advisory group meetings and lead/facilitate local support group meetings.

We have a vacancy for a Community Outreach Worker to join our team, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health as a primary need, through providing advice, information and holistic support.

About the Service

This is an exciting and reasonably new project, ‘Flourish’ – Mental Health for Refugees in Hertfordshire, which is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine & other refugees in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.

The countywide holistic service also provides emotional wellbeing support for families who are hosting refugees.

‘Complex needs’ are defined by the National Complex Needs Alliance as a combination of health needs and social needs.

Purpose of Post

• The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Refugee Community Outreach Worker role is to:
• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
• Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.

The successful candidate will have experience of caseload management, a good understanding of Mental Health conditions and experience of working with vulnerable individuals who are affected by housing difficulties and/or displacement. Understanding and knowledge of the concerns and challenges for refugees and asylum seekers and lived experience would be desirable.

We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual who has a passion for our mission at Smart Works Newcastle to drive referrals to the service and delivery of our strategic plan.

As Outreach Lead, you will be responsible for looking after and developing our important partnerships with our referrers. You will be the face of Smart Works North East in the local community, which in practice means presenting to partners and potential clients, attending job fairs and events, and identifying opportunities of partnership working to encourage referrals. 

Working in close collaboration with the rest of the Smart Works North East team, you will take a joined up approach to implement the outreach strategy in the north east, and manage our network of over 150 referral partners with the aim of doubling the number of women we support. 

This role would be perfect for someone who loves meeting new people, and able to speak passionately about our service to a range of different audiences. The role would be based at our Smart Works centre in Newcastle, with frequent off-site attendance of events, meetings and presentations across the region. There may be occasional evening and weekend work as the successful candidate will be part of the wider centre team, helping with networking and key events support. As part of the wider service delivery team, you will also play an active role in ensuring our volunteer-powered service is delivered to the highest possible standard in our centres.

Community Outreach Worker (Complex Needs Housing Service)

Salary: £26,000 - £27,000 per annum depending on skills and experience inclusive of Outer London Weighting (OLW). In addition, this role will have a yearly staff retention bonus of up to £2,106. This payment is allocated at the discretion of Herts Mind Network.

About the service

The Complex Needs Housing Service works as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.

The objectives of the Complex Needs Housing Service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of Change Grow Live (CGL), District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

Purpose of Post

The Community Outreach Worker will provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and housing. They will ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly. They will embed a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach in all aspects of the roles and remain a source of independent support for all clients.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable individuals, those affected by housing difficulties, they will have a good understanding of mental health conditions and understanding of protection and safeguarding legislation.

About the role:

This is a chance to stand alongside women experiencing multiple disadvantage such as violence against women and girls (VAWG), mental health challenges, substance misuse, offending behaviour, and physical health barriers. It is a chance to be part of the journey where safety, choice and confidence begin to return. In our Camden women’s accommodation service, you’ll build trusting relationships through gender and trauma informed support, working collaboratively with each woman to shape a pathway that reflects her strengths, priorities and hopes for the future. You’ll work closely with specialist partners and engage in multi-agency forums like MARAC to help reduce harm and create space for recovery, stability and new beginnings.

Each day will look different. You may be supporting someone to reconnect with education or work, linking a client into mental health or substance use services, arranging access to healthcare or encouraging involvement in meaningful activities that rebuild identity and community. Through one-to-one support, group sessions and practical life skills development, you’ll help women sustain their accommodation, strengthen wellbeing and expand their networks and independence.

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, compassion and determination. At Single Homeless Project (SHP), you’ll be backed to grow, with real progression pathways and the opportunity to develop practice across multiple disadvantage. The work you do here will ripple outwards - shaping individual futures, influencing wider systems and helping us continue to drive change for women experiencing homelessness in London.

• A solid understanding of person-centred approaches, harm minimisation, and trauma-informed care.

• Proven experience and skills in delivering highly personalised assessment and casework, support planning, goal setting, advocacy, and the ability to apply this in a caseload of clients who find it difficult to engage in formal keywork and where there are barriers to accessing statutory support.
