We’re recruiting an interim Head of Retention Marketing and Customer Journeys on a 12-month fixed term contract to lead a key transformation project.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the second-largest income stream at the BHF, from our existing donor base while delivering adoption of the Adobe marketing stack.

You’ll lead the adoption of  Adobe Campaign and CDP in the Retention and Customer Journey Team, coaching the team on developing data led strategies to inspire support from our customers to power lifesaving research, taking them on a cross channel journey to drive greater engagement with our cause and working with our Digital Teams to bring these journeys to life.

Managing income across our loyal regular giving base, our new lottery player base as well as our cash donor, raffle (Give Help) and retail, volunteering, event participant bases (Achieve Goals), your objective will be to grow income from our existing customer groups using cross sell, upsell and engagement communications to improve lifetime value, taking a customer centric approach.

This role is also key to to ensuring that our customers know where they can get help from the BHF, be it access to health content, to learn CPR or contact our Heart Helpline (Get Help).

Leading a talented below-the-line marketing team across our Give Help, Get Help and Achieve Goals objectives, you’ll also work closely with colleagues in our above-the-line teams to take an integrated approach to key comms moments.

About you

You’re a strategic marketing leader with a proven track record in customer retention, journey optimisation, and multi-channel growth. You’ve led teams through transformation, embedded new platforms, and delivered measurable impact.

You bring expertise in CRM, product marketing, and customer data strategy, with a passion for customer-centric marketing that drives engagement and long-term value. Experience with Adobe is ideal, but we would also value experience in platforms like Klaviyo, Bloomreach, Intuit (Mailchimp), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or HubSpot and an understanding of the capability they have to drive personalised marketing

You’ll also bring:

• Strong working knowledge of customer data, CRM, and product marketing, with experience developing retention and journey campaigns across email, SMS, direct mail, and data-led channels.
• Proven success as a people manager, with a track record of delivering change, building high-performing teams, and driving revenue growth.
• Ability to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders, and experience managing external agencies through complex CRM and below-the-line marketing projects.

Working arrangements 

This is 12-month fixed term contract covering family leave. Start date ideally in December 2025, although there can be some flexibility.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About the project

Set up by Southwark Council, the Homes for Ukraine project supports families and individuals from Ukraine who have been granted visas to live and work in the UK. After an initial period living with host families or in temporary accommodation, the project helps households take the next step towards independence by supporting them to move into private rented accommodation, assisting them in finding employment, and linking them with wider community support networks, while working holistically to ensure their individual needs are met. This approach aims to help Ukrainian households settle and thrive in the UK.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.

Location: Remote, based in the UK or New Zealand

Job Summary 

To ensure the appropriate care and protection of children and adults at risk, who are using Mental Health Innovations (MHI)’ services, and to take appropriate actions to safeguard those identified as being at risk of significant harm.

Key Responsibilities

• Alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with children, young people, and adults at risk of harm at Mental Health Innovations understands the safeguarding policies and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s or adult’s welfare.
• Implement Mental Health Innovations’ safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all concerns are responded to appropriately.
• Deliver training to the MHI workforce around safeguarding processes and thresholds.
• Respond to information that may constitute a safeguarding concern for children or adults at risk of harm, including:
  • assessing and clarifying information
  • reporting and recording safeguarding issues as they arise
  • responding to and supporting staff who raise concerns live in the moment on the Shout/The Mix platforms, including counsellors
  • making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
  • consulting with and informing relevant members of the safeguarding management team
  • following the organisational safeguarding policy and procedures
• Be aware of PREVENT concerns and ensure the Prevent Duty is followed and adhered to.
• Regularly liaise with, share information with, and, when necessary, make formal referrals to statutory agencies such as social services, police, and ambulance services.
• Keep and maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns for both young people and adults at risk of harm.
• Work closely with the Head of Safeguarding and Safeguarding Manager to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns.
• Be familiar with multi-agency working and ensure adherence to statutory guidance and processes in line with MHI policies and procedures.
• Have a sound understanding of safeguarding, keeping up to date with relevant changes and common trends/concerns regarding children, young people, and adults at risk of harm. Attend regular training relevant to safeguarding children and adults at risk of harm and share the learning with the wider MHI organisation.
• Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and regular one-to-one sessions as arranged.
• Facilitate safeguarding workshops and drop-in consultations to support the ongoing training and development of Mental Health Innovations’ employees.
• Facilitate reflective practice and debrief sessions for the volunteers of MHI.
• Work flexibly as required and carry out any other reasonable duties.

• Experience of multi-agency safeguarding work and understanding of safeguarding issues affecting children, young people and adults at risk of harm.
• Ability to work flexibly on a 24/7 rota, including evenings, overnight and weekends.
• Level 3 Safeguarding Training (adults and children) or equivalent, Prevent training and awareness of the Prevent Duty.
• Understanding of data-protection legislation and regulations i.e Data Protection Act 2018/GDPR.

About this key role
