About SCEC

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Children learn through fun, engaging group activities like science experiments, storytelling and mathematical treasure hunts, all taught by qualified teachers with added support from student mentors. Through the schemes, children explore their curiosity, build knowledge and develop their confidence as learners.

Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. You will also serve as a trusted partner to the Board in the administration of the charity.

Similar to a COO, this role straddles the operational and the strategic. We are looking for a confident communicator and relationship builder who can work across varied stakeholder groups. You will have project management experience that can be applied to challenges like process design and change management. Job Purpose:

• To coordinate the development and delivery of Fundraising Challenges Events, nationally and internationally, with the objective of engaging the community on a grass-roots level in line with the IRUK fundraising strategy
• To work closely with the Community Fundraising team to promote the mass participation of events that will lead to participation and fundraising
• To deliver stewardship journeys for participants and supporters
• To successfully project manage multiple national fundraising initiatives.

The successful candidate must have:

• Proven experience in challenges coordination and/or management
• Significant experience of fundraising through organising and delivering challenges, and/or mass participation activities
• Experience of the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of plans and budgets
• Experience of delivering exceptional donor/customer care
• Experience in supporter stewardship
• Experience of using a range of effective communication channels to promote fundraising activities
• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Experience of managing own workload effectively, planning and organising work to meet deadlines
• Experience of working effectively without close supervision dealing with problems as they arise
• Experience and comfortability of working within a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with and supervising volunteers
• A thorough understanding of the different types of fundraising challenges
• Good understanding of charity law, policy and regulatory environment within the charity sector
• Knowledge of the Fundraising Regulators code of practice
• Able to work flexible hours (including unsociable hours and weekends)
• Proficient use of Asana, Trello or other project management tools
• Excellent event/challenge management skills – from conception, promotion to production and delivery
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce correspondence to a high standard
• Creative thinking skills
• Able to exercise diplomacy where required
• Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a diverse range of individuals who may be supporters, participants, donors or volunteers
• Strong project management and team coordination skills, including the ability to use planning tools

• Proven organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple activities at one time
• Excellent administration skills – able to keep thorough, accurate and up to date records
• Competent user of Raisers Edge, Microsoft D365 or other relationship management databases

• Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software in particular, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Programme Manager (Part-time, 4 days/week — 12-month contract)

The Southeast and East Asian Centre (SEEAC) is a community-led CIC supporting East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) migrants and refugees in the UK. We work to build an equitable society where ESEA communities thrive.

We are seeking a Programme Manager to lead our programme team, deliver high-impact community services and advocacy projects, and strengthen partnerships across the sector. This role is central to coordinating multiple projects, managing staff, developing proposals, overseeing budgets, ensuring monitoring and evaluation, and representing SEEAC publicly with partners, media and stakeholders. The post works closely with the Executive Director and Partnership Development Manager, including on fundraising.

About you:
You bring 5+ years’ experience leading programme design, delivery, monitoring and reporting plus people management experience and strong communication, organisational and financial skills. You are confident engaging with diverse communities, funders and public audiences, and committed to safeguarding and data protection. Knowledge of issues affecting migrants and refugees (e.g., employment rights, discrimination, health inequality) and strong writing skills are essential. Experience with ESEA communities or other minoritised groups is highly desirable, as is lived experience of migration-related issues.
