One of the nine members of the Coram group, Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC) is the UK’s specialist centre for children’s rights in education, immigration, community care and family law, and provides significant international legal systems consultancy. The centre is located on the Coram Campus in central London with bases in Colchester and Leeds. We champion access to justice through information and advice, legal practice and representation, policy and strategic litigation. Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. Our Migrant Children’s Project promotes the rights of refugee and migrant children, young people and families through the delivery of advice, practice change through training and capacity building to professionals and systems change through research, policy and advocacy.
About the role
This role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Migrant Children’s Project but with support for the Child Law Advice Service and Coram International where required. Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for core financial functions within CCLC including legal aid billing and management and tracking of grant and other charitable funding. Through systematic and efficient financial management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial sustainability. The role will act as a key point of contact with Coram’s central finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.
The role will also oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through line management of operations and administrative staff.
The role would suit a high organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, would be welcomed.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel to both locations. The large majority of the legal and policy team are based in London and as such regular (at least twice weekly) presence in our London office will be expected. However, on other days the candidate could be based in the London or Colchester office.

We’re looking for a motivated Grants and Administration Officer. We are happy to consider someone who is newer to grant-making but with deep experience of the charitable sector. We will be looking for someone with aptitude for the duties below who will be able to work independently following training where needed. Alternatively, we would be open to a candidate with experience of grant management who can hit the ground running. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
The role is split between grants assessment and management and providing administrative support to the team. A more detailed outline of the duties can be found below. We expect the majority of the role to be focused on grants assessment and are looking for someone with a good ability to prioritise a varied workload.
Some travel within the UK will be required for visits to applicant charities and grantees with the possibility of very occasional overnight stays.

Duties
Grants assessment and management:
• Process grant applications. This includes:
o Visiting, meeting and corresponding with applicants.
o Reviewing, requesting and analysing relevant information.
o Providing feedback on unsuccessful applications.
o Preparing written recommendations for submission to the Board and presenting at Board meetings.
• Monitor progress on grants awarded.
• Ensure the timely and accurate recording of activities and transactions with applicants and grantees through the Trust’s database, Salesforce CRM.
• Represent the Trust at public events such as seminars and receptions.
• Contribute to the Trust’s ‘grants-plus’ activity, which aims to support the work of applicant charities through sharing knowledge and experience of good practice and brokering pro-bono consultancy support.
• Take on specific research in relation to current funding priorities or potential new areas of activity, as required.
Administrative support:
• First point of contact for enquiries and invitations to the Trust by post, email and on the phone.
• Responsible for day-to-day management of the Trust’s digital systems. This includes Salesforce, Box, Wordpress, Cognito, Zapier and Lastpass. Specific duties vary by programme but generally include keeping data current, ensuring staff have relevant access rights and permissions, and backing up data on a regular basis. Training will be provided on all of these systems.
• Manage the Trust’s subscriptions and memberships (e.g. Association of Charitable Foundations, ICO).
• Maintain the Trust’s register of interests.
• Prepare Board papers and Minutes (printing, binding and posting papers).
• Update 360giving with the Trust’s grants data (training will be provided).
• Support meetings (circulating calendar invitations, booking meeting space, organising catering and on-the-day setup and close down).
• General office duties including keeping the office stocked with stationery and tea/coffee and welcoming visitors to the Trust. Lead on the office security systems and dealing with contractors.

• Evidence of right to work in the UK.
• References to evidence integrity and good character.
Skills and Qualifications
• Deep knowledge of and demonstrable interest in the non-profit sector.
• Experience of grant management, including the due diligence process, presenting to decision-making committees and monitoring of grants. This could be from grant-making or fundraising work.
• Ability to understand and analyse information from applicant organisations including:
o Financial documents (including charity accounts, management accounts, cashflow forecasts and project budgets).
o Monitoring and learning processes.
o Strategic plans.
o Impact reports and evaluation materials.
• Ability to synthesise the above information, along with in-person meetings, to produce clear and accurate written summaries and recommendations to be put to the Director and Trustees.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good judgement.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Well-organised with a proven ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload and work to deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and over different media (e.g. on the phone, email or in person).

• Proficiency and confidence in using IT. The Trust conducts most of its business using cloud-based systems including Microsoft Office 365, Box and Salesforce.

Look Ahead Care and Support own and manage a mixed portfolio of properties across London and the Home Counties. The organisation accommodates customers with a range of support needs. The Repairs Manager will work as part of the Property Services team. Assuming day-to-day responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all repair and maintenance activities across all tenures (Supported, Unsupported, Intermediate and Market Rent).
Responsible for working collaboratively with the Customer Contact Centre to facilitate the timely and efficient completion of repairs and maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Offering technical expertise, whilst being a lead escalation for Contractor Management and Commercial Meetings.
What you'll do:
Instigate Orders
Authorise orders and approve variation price works from agreed SoR's. Offer technical support to Customer Contact Centre to ensure that works are value for money. Promptly instruct contractor and confirm agreed timescale. Liaise with scheme mangers as necessary.
Order Approvals
Approve and review high value orders, variations, and completed works prior to invoice.
Quality Assurance
Lead on all areas of quality assurance including sharing site visit responsibility with Property Inspector. Manage requests for pre inspections and post inspections with Property Inspector. Lead on Damp and Mould quality inspections and follow up reports. Communicate inspection KPIs to key stakeholders.
Works Delivery
Ensure that all works are completed within agreed time frame work and that this is accurately monitored through weekly WIP reports.
Contractor Management
Ensure strict adherence to Contractor code of conduct and agreed SLAs. Lead contract progress meetings to manage performance.
Complaint and Query Lead
Manage all complaints responses related to repairs from inception and act as escalation point for repairs and void teams.

I'm recruiting for a leading health related charity. They require a Customer Services & Administration Manager to join them on a temporary basis starting ASAP, this role will run for a few months, and ideally the temp will be considered for a more permanent position in the charity. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, requiring you to be in the London office a few days per week to ensure the smooth running of the office and to manage the team of direct reports. If you prefer, you can work remotely the rest of the week. This is a busy, and varied role, the bulk of the role is managing the supporter care function, managing the efficiency of processing income, coupled with people management and office management.
The Customer Services and Administration Manager will ensure that the team functions efficiently and effectively to deliver an excellent customer care service. The team respond to Gift Aid questions and queries, and process credit and debit card donations made via the supporters, both online and by phone. You will support the maintenance of the charity's BACS and direct debit system and producing direct debit claims in line with BACS rules and regulations.
You will conduct weekly 1-2-1's with your several direct reports, and attend any important meetings required. Other duties include ensuring the office and processing runs smoothly, managing the staff rota system, financial administration, dealing with any complaints and ensuring supporters are receiving the highest level of customer care.
The successful postholder will bring experience of managing a customer services/ supporter care team, where they have strong knowledge and experience around processing, thanking supporters, BACS direct debit claiming process, and Gift Aid regulations, as well as line management experience.
