Are you an experienced HR professional used to coordinating the full employee lifecycle and supporting managers to make an organisation a great place to work? This is a new role taking full ownership of all strategic and operational elements of the HR function, supporting an organisation of 25 people, reporting directly into our CEO, Richard Bowyer.
The successful candidate will coordinate all elements of the employee lifecycle and ensure the charity is a great place to work by supporting line managers, being the key point of contact for staff welfare, and owning the employee engagement survey process.
They will lead on key HR projects – such as EDI strategy development & rollout, implementation of an HRIS and new payroll provider, and creating a staff handbook.
The HR Business Partner will be a standalone role, overseeing all strategic and operational HR functions including:
- Coordinating all HR administration and processes – across starters, leavers, benefits, payroll, and implementing an HRIS. Improving and streamlining processes.
- Leading on all people related issues, supporting line managers to minimise risk, embrace best practice and make the charity a great place to work.
- Providing strategic guidance and advice to line managers on recruitment & selection and regularly joining interview panels.
- Being the staff welfare lead and owning the employee engagement survey process.
- Maximising the effectiveness of our annual appraisal and personal development process, including sourcing internal and external learning activities.
- Strategic inclusion lead for the organisation, including creating and implementing a new EDI strategy.
- Active member and contributor to the internal Heads of Department leadership group, and leading on people updates to the leadership team.
We are looking for someone that:
- Has proven experience autonomously managing HR administration across the employee lifecycle in a standalone role or small team, with the ability to review, implement and streamline processes.
- Has significant experience in effectively and pragmatically supporting and coaching line managers on a range of people issues.
- Can assess employee learning needs and source effective training and development activities.
- Can lead on our inclusion work, with a passion for EDI within the workplace.
- Can work autonomously and proactively manage a varied workload.
- Has exceptional ‘people-skills’ and is an excellent communicator while being discrete and tactful to sensitive issues.
The ideal candidate will also:
- Be CIPD Level 7 qualified (or in progress).
- Have experience working within the charity sector, with knowledge of topics such as compliance, safeguarding and volunteering.
- Be a confident public speaker – able to present to and/or train groups of up to 30 people.

Working closely with Royal Brompton & Harefield hospitals, we fund life-changing projects to expand medical understanding and find innovative treatment options; to renew and upgrade equipment; and improve the everyday experience of patients and staff alike.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer exists to change policy and practice to improve access to treatment and health outcomes among people affected by eating disorders. They will do this principally by developing Beat’s policy positions based on evidence and ensure this is effectively communicated to key decision-makers.

About the role
This is a vital role supporting the Workforce Development team through the effective coordination of activities associated with a number of initiatives carried out within WorldSkills UK, including the completion of an award-winning pilot programme supporting education institutions to mainstream excellence into the delivery of technical education.
You will be working with a highly motivated and engaging team in a fast-paced environment, coordinating activities, managing resources, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring progress and evaluating impact. You will be confident in liaising with senior and middle managers in an educational environment and will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and digital software such as Zoom. You will have excellent attention to detail, alongside planning and organisational skills to support the programme of events which will be delivered both digitally and in person across 2024-26.
Role purpose
The Project Coordinator will proactively support the programming, coordination and management of a number of projects within the WorldSkills UK portfolio, including the WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence and Network for Innovation as well as the International Skills Partnership initiatives. The successful applicant will work with the Senior Workforce Development Manager in supporting a team of High-Performance Skills Coaches based across the UK.
The post holder will demonstrate excellent organisational, operational and process management skills; have experience of working within a similar setting and be able to communicate well and provide strong and efficient administration to support the ambition and priorities of the programmes.
Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Programme coordination:
• Acting as the secretariat for the internal Centre of Excellence project team and external steering groups; preparing reports, papers, minutes and actions for monthly and quarterly meetings.
• Contributing to the planning of activities/tasks in accordance with the agreed project plan to ensure delivery on time and to budget, raising purchase orders and tracking spend against forecast.
• Coordinating the programme ensuring all deviations from targets (time, money, people, etc.) are identified and addressed at the earliest possible stage.
• Producing requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.
• Effectively coordinating resources (including agencies, suppliers, contractors) so that all project elements are delivered to acceptable standards on time, to budget and meet the required specification(s)/objective(s).
2. Coordination of members and compliance:
• Effectively liaising with programme participants, responding to enquiries regarding programme content, scheduling or other.
• Liaising with programme facilitators, trainers, speakers and external personnel as necessary.
• Providing logistical management of people and training activity; workshops, masterclasses, and other learning activities.
• Issuing of updates regarding membership, enrolment and engagement including management of Memorandums of Understanding and distribution of associated membership assets.
3. Data Management:
• Collecting, collating and maintaining detailed, accurate and up-to-date records of participants, evaluation and outcomes from WorldSkills UK programmes, whilst maintaining GDPR compliance.
• Preparing reports for monitoring, evaluation and presentations for the project team, the Steering Group and funders as necessary.
• Working alongside the Planning, Grant Management and Impact team to report and track performance and progress.
• Working in partnership with the Planning, Grant Management and Impact team share insights and analysis to feed into the research and programme evaluation.
4. Supporting evaluation and impact:
• Providing updates for inclusion in review activity such as project dashboards for internal and external stakeholders and monthly progress updates against the organisational annual plan.
• Working with the Planning, Grant Management and Impact team to collate and record outputs from evaluation activities for cross programme events.
5. International Partners:
• Acting as secretariat for the International Skills Partnership programme, scheduling engagements, acting as point of contact, preparing reports, papers, minutes and actions for periodic meetings.
• Supporting in the coordination of projects associated to bi-lateral partnerships.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Housing Tenancy Officer

You will also need to have excellent communication skills, previous experience with front facing customer service/administrative work in a housing service, excellent IT skills – proficient with Microsoft packages and the ability to learn new systems quickly, together with a positive can-do and flexible attitude to work.

Main purpose and scope of Role

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust are seeking an inspirational, energetic and experienced Membership Team Supervisor to lead our high-performing in-house team of membership recruiters (face-to-face fundraisers) from the front.
You will operate on the very front line of our charitable nature conservation mission, directing and supporting our specialist team to consistently achieve their financial targets by recruiting new members face-to-face, whilst also utilising your strong sales skills and friendly and persuasive personality to inspire the public to take urgent action for wildlife and wild places through membership. In so doing, you’ll demonstrate first-hand to the team what can be achieved in terms of performance and set a standard against which the team is held accountable.
You will be an effective ambassador and advocate for the Trust’s work throughout Yorkshire, have excellent sales skills and a successful track record in delivering exemplary customer or supporter care. Highly proficient in the use of office-based computing software, you’ll also hold a full driving licence, have access to a personal vehicle with business insurance, and be willing to travel regularly between some of Yorkshire’s most iconic wild places.

The role
We’re seeking a well-organised coordinator to join our team focusing on services for people with secondary (metastatic) breast cancer. This role will primarily develop new groups across the northwest region and will ensure successful delivery of those services. They are designed to provide information and emotional and practical support both online and face-to-face.
You’ll play a key role in supporting and developing our secondary services in the northwest of England and will be working with the services manager for secondary breast cancer and a team of coordinators who are based across the UK.
You’ll liaise with venues, expert speakers and support our team of dedicated qualified sessional therapists, as well as providing technical support for the running of monthly online services. You’ll also build productive relationships with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to promote our services and increase their reach and uptake.
This role ensures Breast Cancer Now can make big strides forward in supporting everyone who needs us by making our services more widely available and increasing awareness of them.
About you
We’re looking for someone with experience of developing and delivering health, information, or other support services, who will enjoy managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders, often remotely.
You’ll be organised and with excellent time management skills, and able to use your initiative and prioritise your workload. You will enjoy working as part of a supportive and busy team who operate across different geographical sites.
Flexibility to travel across the northwest of England and work outside normal office hours, with overnight stays is required. This will involve regular (at least monthly) travel across Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester (North).

Onwards and Upwards (O&U) is a charity created to directly tackle the cycle of reoffending driven by the barriers to unemployment faced; our purpose is clear, and our plan is simple. We will break the cycle of reoffending by starting sustainable businesses which train and employ ex-offenders. These must be organisations that people are proud to work for, provide personal and professional development, that operate in high demand sectors, and that showcase the talents and potential of ex-offenders as employees to businesses and society at large.
Our plan in the long-term is to launch, test, and grow a range of businesses that all follow this model – of training, supporting and employing ex-offenders in positive environments that are part of a community, with aspirational brands, and with full support for people to grow and move on with their lives.
Our first commercial venture is XO Bikes – where we train people to become qualified bike mechanics and then aim to find them meaningful jobs in the cycling sector and beyond.
THE ROLE
The next few years is a transformational time for Onwards and Upwards as we take the stride forward in starting our second venture, but only once we have secured a best-in-class training and support model, and delivered XO Bikes to sustainability. Beyond this we are an agile and entrepreneurial team that has a tendency for finding and taking advantage of great ideas and opportunities. To achieve all this we need a great Ops function, and someone leading it that can grow as we do.
We are looking for an organised, motivated, and experienced Operations professional to ensure O&U and our Commercial Ventures run smoothly and efficiently, our staff team is valued and supported, and our management teams are kept up to date and fully informed. This role would be perfect for an Ops Director excited by our approach and mission, or as a first step into a Director role for a proven Ops manager.

HR
Our staff and volunteers are central to what we do here at O&U and XO Bikes. We are a growing team and it is essential that all staff members feel valued and supported. The Operations Director will assist the core management team in ensuring we all work well together to fulfil the missional objectives of the charity. Tasks will include:
· Management of O&U and XO Bikes HR functions including recruitment, administration, compensation and benefits, training and development, staff wellbeing and performance management.
· Ensuring our staff team and volunteers are well qualified for their roles and developed both professionally and personally.

FINANCE
The Operations Director will need to have a good understanding of finance reporting and systems to inform leadership, manage budgets and cashflow and ensure we meet statutory financial requirements. They will manage the Finance Assistant who is responsible for keeping our finance systems up to date and managing day to day bookkeeping.
Finance tasks will include:
· Management of Finance Assistant to ensure accurate, timely and complete information is provided to Trustees and the O&U management team to inform strategy and planning decisions. This will include the following tasks:
o Production of annual budgets and cashflows in conjunction with the management team
o Management of relationships with auditors, Charity Commission and HMRC
o Responsibility for statutory and management finance reporting including external independent examinations/audits.
· Production of monthly management accounts, balance sheet, cashflow and profit and loss
· Ensure timely filing of annual reports and accounts for the charity and any ventures the trustees are responsible for
OFFICE SUPPORT
The Operations Director will manage the Operations Assistant and ensure staff are fully set up and trained on all IT systems. This includes Microsoft office products, database management systems, HR platforms and retail/production systems.
· Operational management of IT services and support at O&U and XO Bikes
· Ensure IT provision is consistent, up to date and easily accessible to all staff and volunteers
· Ensure training is provided for all staff and volunteers
PREMISES MANAGEMENT
The Operations Director will ensure the offices, workshops and retail outlets are safe spaces, well maintained and fit for purpose. This will include the following:
· Review building security and insurance provision annually
· Review health and safety policies and ensure training is provided to all staff
· Ensure fire regulations are complied with at all premises
· Review property leases and liaise with landlords as required by core management team
· Manage relationship with local council re business rates and discretionary relief applications
· Manage contracts with utility providers (includes lighting/heating/water)
· Manage support contracts re fire regulations, health and safety
CHARITY GOVERNANCE
The Operations Director will be the liaison between the UK Charity Commission, the trustees of O&U and the staff team. Tasks will include:
· Collation of updates from managers for the Trustees (6 reports per annum)
· Attendance at all trustee meetings
· Production and circulation of Trustee meeting minutes
· Charity Commission administration and reporting
· Trustee onboarding
LEGAL & COMPLIANCE
Ensure implementation of procedures and policies in line with all relevant statutory requirements concerning HR, Finance and Charity governance. Ensure O&U is kept up to date with all regulatory changes which affect the charity and our commercial ventures. This will include the following:
· Keep up to date with changing legislation and laws affecting companies and charities making appropriate recommendations to management on changes and other relevant matters.
THE PERSON
We are looking for someone who shares our belief that individuals who commit crimes should be given the opportunity to build themselves a positive and productive life atop the foundations of secure employment. The cycle of reoffending is an enormous issue, but one we can start to solve.
