Job description

EmpowerHer Foundation Africa is committed to addressing critical social and environmental challenges that affect women in our communities. We believe in empowering women through education, entrepreneurship, health, and personal safety, ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive through:

  • Educational Workshops and Training Programs: We are developing comprehensive training programs focused on business skills, women’s health, and food production. Our workshops will include financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and sustainable agricultural techniques.
  • Microloans for Women Entrepreneurs: By providing low-interest loans, we can empower women to start their businesses, creating a ripple effect of economic independence and community growth.

  • Distribution of Sanitary Products: We are creating partnerships with local businesses and NGOs to distribute sanitary towels and grooming products, ensuring women and girls have access to essential hygiene necessities.

  • Community-Based Support Networks: By fostering community support groups that focus on addressing GBV, we aim to create a safe space for women to share experiences, seek help, and obtain education on their right.

Administrator

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Responsibilities for Administrator position at EmpowerHer Foundation:

  1. Office Management: Oversee daily operations of the foundation’s office, ensuring a smooth workflow and a positive environment for staff and volunteers.

  2. Communication Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications, managing emails, phone calls, and correspondence with stakeholders.

  3. Event Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events, workshops, and community outreach initiatives that align with the foundation’s mission.

  4. Database Management: Maintain and update the foundation’s database, ensuring accurate record-keeping of donor information, volunteer hours, and program data.

  5. Financial Administration: Support basic financial operations, including tracking donations, processing reimbursements, and assisting with budget preparation.

  6. Grant Research and Application Support: Research potential grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of proposals and reports to funders.

  7. Volunteer Management: Help recruit, onboard, and coordinate volunteers, as well as provide them with the necessary support and resources for their roles.

  8. Social Media and Marketing Support: Assist in managing the foundation’s social media accounts and help create marketing materials to promote events and initiatives.

  9. Meeting Coordination: Organize and schedule meetings, taking minutes and ensuring actionable items are tracked and followed up on appropriately.

  10. Program Evaluation and Reporting: Support the evaluation and reporting processes of programs, including gathering data, preparing reports, and analyzing impact assessments.

This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit administration while contributing to a meaningful cause. If performance is satisfactory during the 6-month engagement, there is potential for future employment with the foundation.
