Role description:

We are seeking a technically excellent management accountant to play a central role in the finance team at this young and vibrant charity, preparing monthly management information to aid business decisions, and undertaking project work as requested.

Main Responsibilities:

Management Accounts preparation

• Account for accrued income and expenditure, including:

           - Accrued legacy income

           - Accrued trust income

          - Other accrued income

          - Accrued grant expenditure

          - Normal accruals and prepayments

• Reconcile all control accounts regularly
• Prepare and post journals as required
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including restricted and unrestricted reserves

Record keeping

• Contribute to the proper maintenance of book keeping records where necessary, to comply with statutory, financial and GDPR regulations
• Assist in gathering documentation for audit, ensuring necessary information is organised and available
• Assist in year-end statutory accounts preparation
• Ensure that all relevant finance processes and systems are adhered to

Other

• Liaise with fundraising team to assist in reconciliation of finance software to fundraising CRM software
• Produce ad-hoc reports as required
• Complete government and other surveys as required
• Represent the Charity in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.
• Champion our code of behaviour and act as a role model, ensuring that our safeguarding and other key policies and procedures are adhered to at all times so as to protect the people we work with and our reputation.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and experience

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience of management accounts preparation

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Lead to play a vital role at the heart of our organisation.   How are staff supported to work remotely?

Location: The role is primarily based at the Crisis Brent Skylight in Harlesden ( 1-2 Bank Buildings, High St, NW10 4LT), some local travel may be required.

About the role

This is an exciting new role in Crisis to lead on the practical development of Brent Council’s neighbourhood working approach in Harlesden and feed into Crisis’s new strategy, building on our experience of place-based work in Brent, developing new approaches to preventing homelessness and income insecurity and leading on local system.

The postholder will be line managed by Crisis Brent Skylight Director and is supported by Brent Council’s Head of Place Leadership.

You will:

• Implement a new, place-based vision for neighbourhood working which shifts away from traditional, transactional approaches towards more sustained, relational working with residents at risk of homelessness or living with income insecurity.
• Coordinate and support a co-located and co-working integrated neighbourhood team, consisting of statutory, health and voluntary sector partners, as well as community groups and residents to meet locally agreed strategic objectives, by providing a whole system, joined up experience for individuals, which is preventative, proactive, person-centred and relational.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders fostering a learning culture which is adaptable, collaborative and flexible.
• Develop local systems to support Brent Council’s radical place making approach by setting up new services and cross service teams, including contribution to the development of an operating and outcomes measurement approach.
• Utilise learning from the RPL lead approach, the integrated neighbourhood team and casework delivered on upstream prevention to feed into Crisis strategy and place-based approaches.
• Support and influencing place-based and data-led change

About you

• You can demonstrate experience of developing and/or leading on system change, through partnership and collaboration and an ability to bring together individuals and organisations with potentially competing priorities and agendas to enable them to coalesce and achieve positive progress around shared objectives.

• Assisting the Retail Manager in maximising sales by maintaining high standards of display and layout, ensuring proper stock rotation, and securing realistic pricing on donated items. 

• Merchandising awareness and making sure you are keeping up to date with trends and competition. 

• Maximising Gift Aid income and oversee the proper display and administration of bought-in goods, ensuring minimal stock loss. 

• Customer engagement and leading by coaching volunteers and staff to have great conversations with every customer on" Rounding up" their purchase, making an "add donation" for our charity and signing up for our loyalty scheme.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for Advocates to join and shape this service covering Clydebank.  Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).  

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

About the role

This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have experienced sexual abuse or violence. Your work will enable TNBI people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of sexual abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.

You will be joining our advocacy and support team, supporting TNBI survivors across the UK. You will work directly with TNBI victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related to experiences of sexual abuse or violence, including issues such as attending a sexual assault referral centre (SARC), support with the criminal and civil justice process, providing support at court during trial, safety, and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.

You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of TNBI survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT people facing abuse and violence.

i. Increase vaccination coverage and reduce zero dose and under-immunised children.

ii. Set up grant/contract schemes with CSOs and local partners that are results-focused, cost-effective and provide value for money.

iii. Strengthen the capacity of CSOs and local partners to implement contracts/grants effectively and efficiently.

iv. Contribute to a conducive partnership, a joint vision and clarified collaboration modalities between governments, and civil society and local partners,

v. Help roll out HPV vaccination; and

Robustly evaluate the contracts/grant with CSOs and local partners to capture learning and ensure course correction as required.
