Your role
The purpose of your role is to assist Unfold’s volunteer applicants in a smooth and timely onboarding experience. The role will provide you with an opportunity to gain or further develop administrative, organisational, data processing and communication skills in a welcoming and supportive environment, whilst gaining an understanding of the charity business and development.
What will you be doing?
On a weekly basis you will be supported to carry out the following:
- Send next step emails following mentoring training.
- Request, track and confirm receipt of references.
- Create volunteer profiles on our online training platform.
- Send DBS application invites and see DBS applications through to completion
- Communicate updates with the Volunteer Coordinator and share any challenges or concerns regarding the onboarding process.
- Work in line with GDPR guidelines.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.
Training
- You will be trained by the Volunteer Coordinator and supported throughout your role in Unfold’s systems and processes.
- You are welcome to attend our mentoring training, giving you the opportunity to further understand the needs and lives of the communities your role will help us to serve.
About you
This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with a charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of families and young people in Westminster.
You will be an individual who:
- Has good organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Is confident with or willing to learn the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Is willing to develop skills in the use of our CRM system.
- Is committed to working as a team to achieve Unfold's aims.
This role may particularly appeal to you if you are studying or interested in Psychology, Sociology or learning more about the charity sector. Previous Office Volunteers have undertaken studies on Unfold’s service user trends as part of their Master's degree dissertation, which we would welcome should you like to initiate a similar project, however, this is absolutely not a requirement for the role!
The Commitment

Who are LRMN?
We offer refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants a specialist and holistic service. We advocate for people’s rights, campaign for wider change, meet their basic needs and help them improve their wellbeing.
Why do we need you?
Triage volunteers are an essential part of our team, making sure that clients are able to access the right service. You will deal with initial client enquiries (in person, over the phone or by email), assess what support clients need and help the access the right service for them. This might be with us, a partner or another external service.
Our triage team is integral to the smooth running of LRMN. Without them our advisors wouldn’t be able to provide life changing support to the people who access our services.
Our triage team are the first people that clients will talk to so it is essential that we offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space and give them the right information about the services we offer. Given the demand that we face, volunteers help us do that.
What activities will you be involved in?
As part of our triage team, you will volunteer alongside staff and fellow volunteers to:
• Welcome clients to our office/Migrant Hub and speak to them about their needs • Help clients and referrers understand the services we offer and how to access them • Respond to new referrals and upload them onto our case management system
• Contact clients to book in appointments and follow up referrals
• Take on other administrative tasks as identified from time to time
As you become more experienced, you may be involved in giving basic advice, providing support letters and other duties.
Our triage volunteers can be based at our office (in Deptford Monday-Friday), or our Migrant Hub drop-in service (in Woolwich on Tuesdays), or both! Just let us know in your application form what interests you.
You will be supervised by the Business and Operations Manager and/or Migrant Hub Coordinator but will liaise with staff across the organisation as appropriate.

RollaDome All Skate is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Campaigns Fundraising Officer (Volunteer) to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of impactful fundraising strategies to support our roller sports programs and youth empowerment initiatives. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the nonprofit sector and gaining hands-on fundraising experience.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and executing fundraising strategies aligned with RollaDome's mission.

Research potential funding opportunities and support grant proposal preparation.

Cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors through outreach and stewardship activities.

Help plan and coordinate fundraising events, including logistics and promotion.

Support online fundraising campaigns across digital and social media platforms.

Maintain donor records and assist with data analysis to track fundraising performance.
Skills & Qualifications
