Counselling Service Administrator 

Age UK Camden is recruiting an Administration Officer to join the Counselling Team. 

Age UK Camden is a local, independent and innovative charity which has provided services to older people in Camden for more than 50 years through diverse and inclusive services.   Our counselling services operate in partnership with the NHS Camden Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression iCope, and we offer time-limited counselling (on average 8-12 sessions) for clients with low to medium levels of depression, anxiety, and psychological issues. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Assist with the Counselling Services’ administrative needs and conduct tasks as required by the Counselling Service Manager and the Clinical Lead Councillor 

• Ensure in conjunction with the Manager, the effective implementation of administrative systems for supporting the service including the maintenance of the Client Filing system and the databases, including Charitylog and IAPTus database. 

• Make contacts with clients by telephone, email, letter and in person regarding their enquiries, referrals, progress and cancellation. 

• Help arrange workshops and therapy groups as requested.

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs. 

The successful candidates will: 

• Have shared responsibility in the team for the implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users 

• Act as a key worker for individual clients

• Deliver holistic and person centred wellbeing services which provide service users with social interaction and support to maintain their personal interests. 

Salary: Starting at SCP 4 £25,209.19 pa incl. London Weighting for 35 hpw - pro rata for part time which is £14,405.25 for 20 hours per week and £18,006.56 pa for a 25 hour week) 

(Staff work across both centres so need to be able to travel to Kings Cross and Hampstead.  Shifts range in times across the day and you must be able to work all the various shifts)

Based at the ICN Unit at Orpington Hospital, you will work closely with NHS colleagues and local services to ensure people on the Proactive and Frailty pathways receive the non-medical support they need to stay independent and well.

This is a varied and people-centred role, combining direct patient contact with service coordination and staff supervision. Our small team of team & volunteers are  involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge and make homes safer to avoid admission – including fitting keysafes, moving furniture, shopping, giving advice and coordinating with health & social teams. 

This busy role will include:

- Taking referrals into the service and adding to the CRM / database.

- Updating CRM / database and gathering information for the team to support clients.

- Coordinating Nightingale staff and volunteers to ensure tasks essential for a safe discharge are complete.

- Ensure the individual receives the support/services they need taking a holistic approach – working and communicating with staff, referrers, clients, family members, carers, social workers, hospitals and other Age UK Richmond and voluntary sector services.
